The lady that helped us at the Stevenage store was excellent. She had the right approach, helpful and chatty but not hard sell that would put you off buying. I felt confident that she wanted me to find the right bed and be happy with my purchase/

Sadly, the mattress (Staples Opulence) we bought from the Stevenage store has been a very disappointing, expensive mistake. I wake up with shoulder and hip pain that I never had before due to how unforgiving it is. (We’d done the test and bought firmness levels recommended by the test). We had to get a super king zip link due to existing bed frame and a narrow staircase which reduced our choice and unfortunately I seem to instantly overheat with memory foam (even the supposedly cooling ones).
We wrestled with ourselves for the entire 40 day trial period and made repeated visits back to the store to discuss the possibility of exchanging in this time. The kind of mattress we bought is the kind that does take some time to settle and soften and needs turning every 2 weeks. Although we were always being given the option to exchange in that offer time period, we were reassured it would soften and in theory end up like the one in the store. It did seem a stretch to imagine, but what do we know? We put our faith in the experts. Reviews suggest that yes these particular mattresses take time, so we took a gamble that it would soften, 40 days really not being long enough to test a mattress of this kind. Well, here we are 6 months later, on our third mattress topper, brand new sprung slats and still it hurts my shoulders and hips and bed has gone from a place I absolutely loved spending time in, to somewhere I now dread.
It was absolutely nothing like the one in the shop, so much so, that when we went again to try the demo bed just to compare, I burst into tears, because the difference was so profound. We really regret this purchase and if I won the lottery, the first thing I would do would be to buy a new mattress!! I do not recommend and wished we’d tried a company that offered a 100day trial instead.

Sophie made us feel like we could look around and call for help if we needed her. We told her what we were looking for, gave us a rundown on what was available and the suggested some beds from out back. They were exactly what we were looking for. Great staff, not pushy just really helpful.

My friend recommended Bensons for Beds in Stevenage based on her experience of shopping there and I’m glad she did. We were served by Tara who was great. She listened carefully to what we were looking for and made some recommendations on which beds would be great for us to try based on what we were looking for. Based on the suggestions made we bought a bed, mattress and a headboard. We received great service from the moment we entered the store to time we left

The staff were not pushy but extremely helpful when asked. The purchase and payment straightforward and the staff relaxed and cheerful.
Delivery times updated and the delivery men friendly, smiling and very obliging.

I have been debating writing this review. I have decided that its important for people to know what goes on in stores. I visted the store with my young child last teusday (09/09). I was looking for a bed for her and was greeted by a lovely lady who was helpful. However a gentleman that works there was using text to speech over the speakers and using vulgar language infront on my child? He was running off and giggling to himself whist still saying things through the speaker. The poor lady seemed very embarresed by the behaviour. I feel like this shouldnt be how customers are treated. Very dissaponted
