Once again Lauren and Ross were a joy…
Once again Lauren and Ross were a joy to work with. I have now sold 3 rental properties and my parents probate house through Lauren and Ross. Every time they have been proactive and speedy - a completely different experience to every other solicitor I have used.
My daughter is now instructing them on the purchase of her flat.

His constant updates and support makes the process so seamless in what can be a stressful time when moving home.
I have used Rob for previous purchases and sales and will never use another solicitor.

Zero stars for this solicitor circus
If I could give this terrible practice zero stars I would. We used Wendy Gudgeon for our purchase and sale and it was only thanks to some personal industry contacts and excellent estate agent progressors that she didn't butcher both transactions.
She lacks the basic skills required to be a solicitor including communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability listen and understand what is being said to her.
She caused us so much stress and ignored our calls and emails for so long we had to write to the other partners (who also ignored us) and turn up at their offices to get a response to urgent queries they had been sitting on.
She also charged us urgent completion fees (for both transactions) and despite requesting our bill for an entire week after the exchange, didn't send our statements until late morning on completion day. These were of course wrong and we had been overcharged which was a common theme with Wendy.
When I attended the offices (after being ignored) I was sat in reception and could hear all the incoming customer calls sounding equally frustrated and being fielded by the poor receptionists who are obviously told not to put calls through to the solicitors.
We are still convinced some of the charges are incorrect, but we could never get to the bottom of it with Wendy and her circus team.
I only wish I had read the reviews. Ignore this practice at all costs!

Service and advice beyond compare!
I have dealt with numerous solicitors over 37years of moving. Robert Dawson is without doubt the most efficient, helpful, professional and straightforward lawyer I have ever dealt with. He was very informative providing email updates every time he did any work on the file and made the whole process as simple as possible for myself and my wife. My transaction inevitably did become a little stressful and Robert was very empathetic and his advice was spot on. We cant recommend him highly enough.

This was my first house purchase and I had no idea of the process how things work or what to expect. Lauren and Ross gave me all of the advice that I needed. Truth is they do absolutely everything in the background and I was receiving weekly updates, but not only this, they would also take the time to explain these updates to me in a way that I understood and didn't have to be a solicitor/legal professional. I will add to this that it wasn't a simple straight forward purchase; with the needs of a Deed of Variation to be implemented. This was explained to me and executed in such a way something that is supposed to be 'a bit fickle' to me seemed like part of the normal journey and light work for the guys.
Would highly recommend Lauren and Ross at Barnes and Partners to anyone that wants a seamless service and make what was supposed to be one of the most stressful times of my life eerily relaxing.
