Went with family Sunday lunchtime 27 September to the Epsom branch. I ordered mushroom risotto which resembled a bowl of porridge. It was too wet and almost soup like. Tasteless and inedible

Father’s Day meal disappointment
We went for Father’s Day meal today (16th June) in chichester. The waitress serving us didn’t smile once, even when welcoming us. The pizza was tasteless and small. Expected with a £16+ a pizza the size would be larger. My daughter’s bread sticks were stale. The floor was filthy throughout the restaurant and bathrooms. We probably won’t be going again.
Merryhill branch
Merryhill branch. We have had a fantastic evening here. The food was delicious and the staff were fantastic. So friendly and attentive (Ellie and the other lovely lady - thank you, you are amazing). We will definitely be back, I need to work through the menu lol. Nice selection of drinks too 💖
Winchester Branch
Winchester Branch . Super lunch on Sunday with my daughter . Professional and friendly service, excellent food and tasty cocktails . The staff were very tentative . Keep up the great work . Thanks . Would highly recommend .

Manager wouldn't let us sit outside and lied about a reservation. 10/10 certified nonce
Dire. Avoid.
Dire. Went to Malborough restaurant. The meals arrived suspiciously quickly. Rapidly found out why - they're pre-prepared & heated up. Awful. No seasoning. No flavour whatsoever. So bad. Got over cooked spaghetti with what looked like tinned tomatoes dribbled on it. Not even a whole leaf of basil. Everyone deeply unhappy but trying to be cheerful. Depressing. Ordered garlic bread in desperation to actually taste something and even that was beyond awful. Airplane food is better. Stay at home and ding microwave food - whole lot cheaper and a whole lot more flavoursome. Worst meal any of us have ever had.
Very Poor.
I recently went to the branch at the Westfield shopping centre.
The quality of the food was dire and the service was non existent!
They only get one star as my service charge was removed without any questions asked (presumably because they have got used to customers asking for this to be removed!).
I would not go again for sure.
I’ve eaten in Ask many years ago and…
I’ve eaten in Ask many years ago and found it okay. So I took my three year old granddaughter to the Haslemere branch today for lunch. We had a complimentary dip with pastry and carrot sticks. The accompanying tomato sauce was quite bitter, like a passata out of a jar. I ordered linguini carbonara and my granddaughter had the child’s spaghetti bolognaise, the quantity of which was an adult size. My carbonara was watery and had very little taste. I tried my granddaughter’s bolognese and it tasted exactly the same as the “passata” dip that we had had and was really not very nice. I’m sure the sauce came out of a jar.
When I looked back at my own meal I saw a long black hair coming out of the centre of the pasta. I was horrified. The waitress who served us was very apologetic and very very nice about it and didn't charge me for the dish. Even so, you don't get over something like that and we will never eat in any Ask restaurant again.
Judging from a lot of the bad comments on here I’m pretty sure Ask wont do anything to improve their quite awful feedback because they haven't answered one complaint. A restaurant chain as big as theirs should really be more in touch with their customers.

I feel like I have had a meal from Lidl and been mugged on the way out of the Store !
Food portions were extremely small and very pricey. I have had better tasting food from Domino's.
Service was extremely slow and staff were clumsy, I was bumped in the back by the same waitress 3 times.
A special offer (a free slice of Pistachio tart) was charged for. They lost our Birthday cake and couldn't find it after a staff member put it somewhere? Long enough to ruin the surprise. Just shy of £200 for 5 people and ended up going home very disappointed and still hungry on what was supposed to be a special occasion. Will never return there again. Had the cheek to try and charge for service too. Wish I had read the reviews here first. 5 star prices for 3 star meal.

Amazing service for me and my girlfriend on our first time visiting Manchester. Joanna was really accommodating and gave us excellent service.
Food was also so so good. 5 stars for sure. Definitely recommend.
Great food and excellent service
Great food and excellent service
We went to Ask in Great Malvern for a spur of the moment family meal out. I am currently awaiting surgery and have to eat a low fat diet which I was concerned may be an issue but our waitress was fantastic and brought out a folder which described the nutritional composition of each dish which was helpful and very reassuring.
The meals were all delicious, the atmosphere was warm and the waiting staff were all kind, friendly and attentive. It was a great experience - I highly recommend.
Went to London Park street and was…very disappointed
Went to London Park street and was totally disappointed with long waits for any service and it seemed customers were an inconvenience for the staff as they seemed more interested in chatting to other staff than looking after customers. After a long wait the food was not as good as other Ask restaurant I’ve been to so definitely give this one a miss.
Worst pizza and garlic bread ever
Worst pizza and garlic bread ever, only had garlic on 30% of the garlic bread and the tomato topping on the pizza was a smear. We should have stayed home and bought frozen meals
Insulting food
Very disappointed at what was served up when ordering Pasta brisket!
It was a lump of pasta with a thin layer of brisket spread like butter on a few of the layers of pasta - an insult at an exorbitant price!!
Shameless!!
I'll never set foot there again...
If I could give ZERO STARS I would!

Never been to an Ask Italian before, but we were in Horsham (Sussex) this evening and needed to grab a bowl of Pasta or something. So we decided to go into the Ask Italian there as never having been in one it looked bright enough.
One member of staff walked right past us and completely blanked us and then after a few minutes a woman came up to us with a face like a smacked backside and didn't even speak to us - turned her back on us grabbed 2 menus and walked off, I worked out we were supposed to follow.
She showed us to a table, poured 2 small glasses of some soft lemonade and got most of that over the table and walked off. She said not one word to us the whole time. So by now I was damned annoyed at her rudeness.
After 5 minutes I worked out that we had to download an app, order through the app and the food would arrive.
WHAT THE F???
How impersonal and cold!
If I wanted to order food through an app I'd have ordered from justeat or a vending machine or something but when I go into a restuarant (especially once that claims to be an Italian Restaurant), I expect to be served by a human, who is interested enough in keeping their job to at least smile and say welcome. Not the rottweiler we encountered on our arrival.
Order through an app - you must be joking and they have the audacity to call this an Italian restaurant. I have 2 homes in Italy (one in Veneto and one in Sicily) and I eat in some of the best Italian restaurants in London too and in a "proper" Italian Restaurant the owners treat you like long lost family when you walk in and lavish attention on you and smile and laugh. And they serve simple food, beautifully done.
Ask Italian is an insult to the restaurant trade and a slap in the face for proper Italian Restaurants.
I will never order food from app - NEVER - I'm not a machine and I am not there to do the work of a server (especially being as I am not being paid to do their work) and I bet Ask Italian still has the bare faced cheek to add service charges - If I did order from an app at a table (which I never will) I would remove the service charge because effectively I am serving myself.
So, we got up and we left and found a restuarant around the corner with a real waitress, who was lovely and where we had a lovely supper and spent £90 and left a £10 tip for our waitress ... clearly Ask Itialian doesn't understand the relation between giving great customer service and loss of income. Maybe this account will drive the point home to them.
Order from an APP - seriously - you're takin the Pee!
And if the board of Ask Italian think this is an acceptable way to run an Italian Restaurant then they are deluded and the lot of them need to be sacked without delay because clearly they are either being run by bean counters with no experience of running a restuarant or the board has never had any experience af running a restaurant or both.
Shocking, disappointing, avoid are the pronouns I'd use to describe Ask Italian.
I certainly will never ever go into one ever again - they had once chance to impress and blew it on every level!
Order food from an APP - I'm incensed and insulted!

So disappointed
Disappointing
My husband and I visited the wind street, Swansea restaurant last night at 7.30pm. we shared a bruschetta but it was flavourless. We both had a calzone mine was the vegetarian option. They were both cold inside and we sent them back. The second ones arrived and my husband's was piping hot but he said it lacked flavour. Mine was barely warm this time but I didn't want to send it back again. Mine too lacked flavour but maybe it would have tasted better if hot. I was naive thinking they were freshly made but obviously they are simply heated through. We found it expensive at £57 for one bruschetta, one wine, one peroni and two calzones with no trimmings. The plate looked bare. The food let the place down. The staff were lovely even though incredibly busy rushing around as it appeared to be under staffed. Lovely atmosphere, lovely decor and clean. We won't be returning for the food quality at those prices.
Mother's Day
My daughter booked at Ask Italian, Norwich for Mother's Day and we were treated very well particularly by one staff member. It made a huge difference to feel welcomed. The food was very good but I think the atmosphere made it a nice experience.
charging £15.50 for £2.50 worth of…
charging £15.50 for £2.50 worth of lasagna 😂😂😂never eating here again
If only!!!
We visited the Lewes restaurant at 8.30pm on Sunday 3rd March and was told that the kitchen had closed 5 minutes ago. Closing time is advertised as 9pm. We were foolish enough to visit again the following evening at 7.55pm and was promptly told that we would need to order in 5 minutes as the kitchen closed then (advertised closing time 9.30pm). Unbelievable!!. You obviously haven't a clue how to run a business other than a self serving one. We've enjoyed Ask Italian meals in various UK towns but will never visit another.
Food very generic Epsom branch worst
Food very generic, I do not understand how an Italian restaurant cannot cook Italian food authentically Epsom branch the worst.
Zero flavours
