We recently rented a camper van from Artic campers and picked it up from Mike and his team in Oslo.

We was met at the airport and picked up then taken to the rental station so the whole arrival process was easy and had no issues as this is usually one of the worries when arriving on a holiday.

We done all the checks and paperwork and collected the van then left on our merry way to explore.

We went for a basic basis van and it was perfect (however next time and there will be a next time we will be going for a bigger and better van maybe even the sauna 😃😃) it was exactly what we needed for a short stay in Norway.

We had a rough outline of a trip but wish we did look on the Artic campers website thoroughly before as they have all the recommendations for your trip.

The drive was easy and as much as it hurts me to admit but Norway had the best roads of any country I’ve driven In and the best drivers. Was easy going from left to the right hand side of the road.

The whole trip in Norway was amazing and we will be doing it again as I feel like I haven’t completed Norway and it has so much pulling me back the views, people and country is amazing.

This is one of the best holidays I’ve had and I plan to visit the north next time but one thing I know for sure is I’ll be using Artic campers again due to how easy and professional the process and company is.

The end of the trip was sad due to leaving Norway but despite this Artic campers was extremely helpful in our returning of the vehicle and providing us transport to the train station. This left us even sadder tho due to Mike telling us so much more about Norway and what we missed in the north but like we said and as promised to Mike we will be back and we will be using Artic campers again.

If you travel to Norway and want the freedom of traveling your own way and ticking off all the things you wanna see then you must use Artic campers.

After being let down by another company last minute during a bank holiday Easter weekend, Henning and Mike came to the rescue!
We had a 4x4 Comfort Camper for 3 nights, from Oslo.
A quick train ride from Oslo to Eidsvoll Verk (5 mins) and Mike met us there.
The van was brilliant, had everything we needed inc, really well designed pull out kitchen space and a bed inside the main van. We were lucky the weather was so great we could sit outside and enjoy the stars every night. The diesel heater was a god send on a night when the outside temps dropped and a very welcome addition! Definitely recommend hiring the camper chairs (if weathers on your side).
We absolutely loved exploring Southern Norway and the camper allowed us to stop in some remote places. We’re already planning our next trip back to explore the north and hire from arctic campers again! One of the most beautiful countries we’ve seen.
Thanks Henning and Mike for saving our trip to Norway, we couldn’t of asked for it to be any better.

everything great, serious company and rental worked very well.

Very upsetting experience. They put on hold a huge caution in advance, and a few weeks after you drop off the car they start to charge you from that caution for whatever they like, without any way to protest.

You ask them why you charge me for a dint on the old shabby camping table (extra equipment for rent) that doesn't even affect its functionality - like for a new table, and they start to blame you for other arbitrary things, meaning: "How dare you put in question us seizing your money in pawn?". For instance in our camp the folding bed just broke on the 3rd day (it's custom-made, simplistic furniture), it delivered us a lot of inconvenience, and now they want to charge us for the repair instead of excuses. Very efficient business model, isn't it?

Absolutely frustrating service and communication. Like not in Norway, but somewhere in a 3rd world tourist hole where there two ways of earning on the rental vehicles.

I the public reply here I've finally got their first excuse, hurray! Let's sum it up: sorry that our custom-made bed broke and caused so much inconvenience for your travel, but we have good news: you will pay for it.

To clarify on the mechanical problem we're talking about. Imagine you've rented a flat for your holiday, and you see there a custom simplistic closet made of flywood and hardware like in your grandad's garage. You open its door (the flywood is heavy) and oops, the door falls off and drops on your foot. On return you report that you have a problem with the closet, and it probably needs new longer screws for its fancy construct. They say ok, then in 2.5 weeks send you an invoice without any mentioning of the closet, and only later say: you have "destroyed" (cite) our closet, and because it had 8 screws (magical number calculated by our garage carpenter), you'll pay us to get it fixed. And you need no worry, we're still holding some of your caution money. Astonishing!

UPD2: "Alexander Palamarchuk has been charged with 400 NOK (40 Euros) for all damages in total and the deposit was refunded before Alexander Palamarchuk posted this review."

From the first letter: "We deducted the broken camping table with 400 kr."
From the last letter: "Of course we´re only going to charge you the current value of the table and the two other broken parts. As soon as i get the costs estimation from the carpenter and the car shop you´ll get an updated invoice.".
From your rules: "We will keep 1.000 NOK of this deposit for at least 2 months after your have returned the vehicle"
The caution was 7655 NOK. I got back only 6100 NOK. So even minus those 400 NOK and small corrections of the extras, ca. 100 EUR is still being held.

Was the reply a manipulation that only tastes like a lie?

Perfect Camper Vans!

Arctic Campers was a very nice way to experience the country. Travelling in the Volkswagen crafter was a great experience. Big space inside, interior made of wood, inside kitchen and feeling of closeness to the outside nature :) Also, helpful people working there and I was happy with the service.

Its really stunning customer service. Guys are very flexible and helpful when it comes to unexpected situations

My girlfriend and I rented one of their vans to chase the Northern Lights from Tromso. We visited Lofoten and Senja with a new Volkswagen Transporter 4motion. The camper van had less than 6.000 km driven when we got it. The car was clean and we had everything we needed for our winter trip. We had several times gotten support by rental guy by SMS, when there has been Northern Lights up in the sky. Nice service :) This summer we had the plan to rent a van from Oslo, but we will come next year because of corona.

A SHAME! 👎🏻We rented a Camper in Trømso to spend the weekend with the family at the end of March. We went to the island of Senja and when we got out of a tunnel an avalanche caught us, it was horrible, we were very scared. We had to call 911 and they got us out of there along with the Camper. We are in the newspaper. In a few minutes we called the office to explain to the boy what had happened, since the Camper suffered some damage, he said that we were calm that the insurance covered him, because it was an uncontrollable act, nobody can know if an avalanche will fall on him. middle of the road. We asked him about the bail about 7500Nok and he said that it would take 10 days to return almost all the bail, because they withhold a small part for a month, in case there are traffic fines. Since then we have been calling and they did not pick up the phone, We have had to call from another phone and they have answered us saying that they do not return the deposit, that they will keep that money to cover the damages of the camper and the rest is provided by the insurance. Now we will have to go for lawyers. Shameful and a shame that you are going to spend a pleasant weekend with your husband and your baby, and you end up suffering an avalanche and on top of that they do not return your money.

Hiring an Arctic Campers campervan was an awesome way to see Northen Norway despite the heavy snow and ice! Just make sure if you are travelling in the winter, that you take out the recovery / breakdown option as ending up in a snowy ditch becomes a reality for many. Luckily for us some locals helped pull us out although had they not come to our aid we would have had the breakdown cover anyway. I wouldn't advise chancing it! Anyway the Arctic campers team were really helpful and friendly and the whole process of hire was seamless and enjoyable. I recommend!

hired campervan for 3 days - was great - 5 min taxi ride from airport with supermarket next door for supplies - comfortable bed and warm (as was below freezing at night) . My key got locked inside but Henning of Arctic campers immediately arranged SOS who retrieved key for me .

It was absolutely fantastic to rent a VW caddy from arctic campers in Norway this summer!
Even though the weather was sometimes quite arctic the arctic camper was great and just had enough space to feel nice and comfortable. It's so mobile tat we could park on nice lonely spots where bigger campers could not go and with the included compact kitchen and storrage we hat all we needed to escape form busy city life and enjoy nordic nature.
The guys from Arctic campers are really nice and helpfull. Whereever we had questions they could help.
Thanks to the arctic campers team and there nice and smart VW Caddy camping refurbishment - We had a great time in Norway and will most probably come back and book one of your campers again!
This is a absolute recommendation to anyone who who likes to have a warm and dry sleeping place while camping, who likes the comfort to be mobile and move to different spots, but who does not like to drive one of these camping space ships that need one hour to be set up and that need space for two-three parking spots!

I was asked to write a review here from my camper experince this spring in Lofoten. The guys from Arctic Campers rented out one of their Comfort Campers to me. I came to chasing Northern Lights in Lofoten and picked up the camper at the Moskenes ferry pier. They provided me with absolute great tipps where is the best to see Northern Lights in Lofoten. They spoke both german so it was very easy for me to comunitcate (I am german). The diesel heater of the camper was a big plus! After spending some hours outside I could defrost myself in the back and go out again looking for the Aurora Borealis! The camper is made with a lot of good ideas and the installations are very solid. German engineering ;) Next time in Norway, I will go again for such a vehicle and I can highly recommend Arctic Campers!
