I cannot recommend Appeal Shading based on my experience.

I ordered powered roller blinds for 3 rooms and paid my deposit in advance, expecting a professional installation service.

A survey was carried out before installation, yet when the installation team arrived on 11 June 2026 they did not have the necessary equipment to work safely at the required height. As a result, the blinds were not installed. This was entirely avoidable and resulted in my wife and me wasting an entire morning dealing with the situation.

To make matters worse, the earliest replacement appointment offered was 21 July 2026, almost six weeks later. During this period we have been unable to benefit from the blinds, which were purchased in part to reduce solar gain in our home. The delay has been particularly frustrating during the recent spell of very hot and sunny weather.

To Appeal’s credit, they have acknowledged that the failed installation resulted from an internal error following the departure of the original surveyor and that the working at height requirements were not recorded properly. However, despite accepting responsibility, they have not taken any meaningful steps to expedite installation or offered any gesture of goodwill to recognise the wasted appointment, the inconvenience caused or the lengthy delay in completing the installation due to their error. We were left feeling that we had been put to the back of the installation queue due Appeal’s poor organisation and planning and that we had no choice but to accept this and put up with it.

Mistakes can happen, but how a company responds to them is what really matters. Unfortunately, in my experience, Appeal Shading’s customer service has fallen well below the standard I expected for a premium product and installation service.

We were referred to Appeal Shading by our neighbour and are very pleased with the finished product. It has only been installed for a day, but it looks excellent, feels sturdy and appears to be very good quality.

A special mention must go to Paul C., who carried out the measuring and installation. He was a thorough professional from start to finish. He was knowledgeable, efficient, quick and extremely tidy, as well as patient and genuinely pleasant to have in our home. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of him.

The only area that could be improved is communication during the process. We sometimes had to chase for updates, and it felt as though the different teams were not always fully coordinated. However, when I eventually spoke to someone in the accounts team, she was lovely and made a real effort to help.

Overall, we are very happy with the product and would recommend Appeal Shading, particularly based on the excellent service provided by Paul C.

We used Appeal Shading to provide shades for every single window in a large house. This was a number of years ago, and we've had no problems with them at all. When we purchased our new house, we did the same there. We extended it to cover every window. It included electric blinds in our lounge. And under a year, one of the blinds started to misbehave. It seems that it is slightly too wide for the window and is touching the wall - it billowed out. Upon contacting customer services, we sent them images, and they demanded a video. Because of its size, we had to send it via a service that provides the link so you can download it. We explain this in the emails. They simply refused to download the video. After a number of exchanges of increasing frustration trying to get them to understand, all they had to do was click on the link. Contacted the salesmen. He has always been excellent with us. After that, when he sent them the video, they reacted. Today they told us, “Bad luck,” even though it is under guarantee. It must have been you that did it, because you must have put something in the way of the blind to cause it to tangle, which we did not do. I'm left with no alternative now, but I've issued a 14-day notice of proceedings in the County Court. I will take this company to County Court. I am that angry with the after-sales service. They are petty and arrogant. I have to say, for completeness, every other blind in the house has worked completely, and we have spent many tens of thousands of pounds with this company. It comes to a simple one-window, one-blind problem. Forget it, they run away. Inform the follow-up of what happens in County Court.
After the issue of notice for a County Court summons, they backed down and sent a technician. Technician confirmed it was a manufacturing fault. Taking it back to fix it. However, there was no way this would have happened without the very good salesmen who dealt with us actually leaning on them. I do not believe for one second they have learnt a lesson from this. Yes, on the main excellent products, but when it comes to after-sales, they have a brick wall that you can't penetrate unless you use extreme pressure. With regards to crossing in the post remark in the reply to this, it is only crossed in the post because we were going to court. He told us that we must have caused the fault. It's the only way: we must have put something on the shelf to stop the blind coming down. We did not do this, and we knew we did not do this. Now, of course, we have it confirmed that it was a manufacturing fault. No apology, though, and nothing. I feel sorry for the salesman, who has always been excellent with us.

I filled out the online form for a quote and chose the 3 dates available within the week. I received an email saying someone would get in touch however, 3 days later no one called to confirm.
I spoke to someone in the team who said they are busy and gave me a date 3 weeks away.
I only booked as the review and turn around time seemed good. However that is not the case as it seems. Very disappointed with the customer service.

Rachel did the initial survey and quote, Charles and Tom fitted the awning. Cannot fault any of them, so far the quality of the product and installation seems excellent. The back office staff let me down a couple of times with promised callbacks that didn't happen, and it was sometimes impossible to get through to anyone at all, hence 4/5 overall. But the survey and fitters were really helpful, communicative, and tidy. Thank you!

Paul was a incredibly skilled and diligent operator when fitting our new blinds.

We had our fly screen installed by Colin. The installation took the whole day and it was quite a warm day but Colin had no complaint at all. Colin was courteous and helpful and answered our questions on aftercare. We are happy with the installation and would recommend.

The whole process was very professional and thorough. Lynn helped us design the awning that met our needs. The follow up survey suggested minor improvements which we can now see were necessary.

We were updated on our order and expected fitting date.

Matty and Andy who fitted the awning, were great. They arrived on schedule, completed the work with the minimum of disruption to ourselves and our neighbours. They made sure we understood and agreed different aspects of the fitting. They explained the mechanism and ran through tips for getting the best use of the awning.

We would not hesitate to recommend the product and the team to others.

Good quality product, which, when fitted, looks integral to our existing bifold door. Paul C our surveyor and fitter was very friendly and helpful.

It might very well be the case that this is a good company, BUT my gripe with them is the following:
At some point, I interacted with a social media post (possibly Facebook, can't remember) indicating an interest in flyscreens (true) and wanting to download their brochure (possibly true, can't remember as I was just doing research).
I entered my details and - stupidly - my phone number. BIG mistake. I'm now being HOUNDED by emails (easy to ignore) and sales calls (not as easy to ignore), both from bots and real humans.
I do understand the concept of follow-up calls, but this is on another level. I feel like Harry Styles being chased by a crowd of teenage fans. It's too much!! The fact that the Truecaller app is displaying your number as "Blinds Scam" tells me that this is a common practice that's been upsetting many others.
Based on this experience, I'm completely put off by this company and will not entertain ever becoming a customer.
If anyone from Appeal Shading reads this: Please! Stop! Calling! Me! You seriously need to re-evaluate your marketing strategy.
