NOT like they used to be - poor customer service
My husband bought a $700+ bag from Allen Edmonds and the clasp broke-- they won't repair or replace it (even at our cost!). They "do not have replacement parts" and will not stand behind craftsmanship bc "this was a collaboration". Why bother selling a $700 bag that you don't stand behind? Total customer service FAIL. Their shoes are good quality, but really - do you want to do business with a company that won't stand behind the quality of all their products?

I don’t work for this company, not paid by them either. Have 30+ pairs of fine welted footwear from this brand and many are over 20 years old.
Unlike me, the still look and feel great!
You can also have these “Recrafted”. This includes a new sole, new cork (secret sauce) and refinishing. I have done this a few times with well loved shoes and they come back looking, and feeling, like new.
My wife has tried a few pairs of the welted boots and is almost as big of a fan as I am.
I have worked the same AE person for over a decade and the service is as good as the product.
Give them a try and you just may find the next love of your life, without any negative consequences to you marriage.

A pair of shoes was supposedly delivered by Fedex, but was never actually received.
I called the Customer Support Line.
After about 4 minutes, I was told there was a one minute wait.
After about 8 minutes I was told the wait was 2 minutes.
When I had held for17 minutes the wait time was 8 minutes.
I called again the next day with the same result. The wait time grew longer and longer.
I wrote an email of complaint and was told that they would get back to me in 12 to 16 days.
Shame on you Allen Edmonds
First and foremost, After being a 20 year AE customer, and dozens of pairs f shoes, I am truly saddened to even have to write this e-mail. Placed an order with AE on Monday of memorial day weekend to take advantage of a great sale. My bank protection called to verify the purchase with Shazam to to the amount. I cleared it with them immediately, and they said it was cleared. After watching for debit on my checking account, i didn't see anything yet by Wednesday. I sent an e-mail strait away, but had difficulty calling do to restricted hours. I then got through via telephone on June 1, 2020. I was simply told sorry, it was an internet promotion and there's NOTHING WE CAN DO !, and they would not give me the sale price. In 25 years in business I have NEVER Have said that to a customer! Even with sub-contractor work and product, that HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH US, we've always worked our customers to make them whole. I'm honestly shocked to find myself in the shoes of many on this review site, the victim of ridiculously, pathetically, poor customer service. I'm not trying to get something for free here, I'm just trying to get the price I originally ordered at. While they did offer my veterans discount, it still wasn't close to the sale. How sad. Shame on you Allen Edmonds.

Best shoes ever
Best shoes ever. I don't understand all the complainers and haters on here. Mine look great, and feel great. Plus they have lasted for years and I have only had the soles replaced one time. I will definitely buy Allen Edmonds shoes again.

High quality shoes that while expensive aren’t mind-blowing in cost. I own several pairs and always receive compliments. They are my go to brand.

I should have done my homework before spending my hard earned money on Allen shoes. First, their quality checks do not seem to be consistent and second, the customer service is dismissive and careless. I bought a 339 dollar winter weatherproof boots that are supposed to be rugged enough to survive snow, cold and slush. The first I noticed is those loosen stitches on several places that just looked quite ugly, nevertheless I thought that was the design. Second, the left shoe was poorly fitted and had a prominence on the top that put pressure on my foot, causing discomfort and pain. Third, after using them on dry, nice cold weather the soles started to detach on the back. Fourth, not knowing what to do I called customer service and all I get is a dismissive lady that didn't bother to answer my questions, her only answer was "send those back and will review them". I did so and waited for a long month before hearing the "results of their review". In the interim I called several times but nobody had an idea of what was happening. After a month, I got a short email saying "sorry for the inconvenience, will refund you". Nothing else, they didnt care that I was unhappy and did not bother to make it up for the bad experience.
Bottom line, good quality shoes is an important investment, specially for those of us who dont make lots of money. I would suggest you look elsewhere and dont go to Allen where you will have to pray dont have the same experience I did.

I loved these shoes when I first bought them, great price on sale and the look was great. However I bought them as a stylish / functional shoe that I could wear around walking in Europe (here for 3 months). One week in, not that much aggressive walking and I already have multiple blisters! They were recommended to me too! Don’t know how someone could describe these as “incredibly comfortable”

Customer for over 20 years - and really disappointed. Bought Oxblood Park Avenues that didn't fit (I have another pair in the same size) and was told I could exchange them. Prices moved up - and only got a store credit. Called customer service (again) and hung up after a 15 minute hold time. Calls backed up this much on a Wednesday?
Allen Edmonds doesn't timely process refunds on properly returned items.
On 12/04/2019, I bought a pair of Allen Edmonds' (AE's) mens black Verona II Italian calf-skin shoes in size 9D.
The shoes I received were marked 9D BUT DID NOT FIT--THEY WERE WAY TOO SMALL!!! (The online add said they'd be a "roomy" fit!!!)
I returned the shoes via UPS, using AE's return labels, on 12/10/2019. On 12/13/2019, at about 10:39A, per UPS, UPS delivered the shoes to AE and AE received their returned product.
I've phoned AE long distance three times asking the status of my refund (over $260.00). The last time was today, 01/03/2020.
This is way beyond the "up to 10-work-day refund processing time" even after excluding 12/24, 12/25/2019, and 01/01/2020 (Xmas-EVE and day and New Year's Day).
I had to ask my credit card company to "DISPUTE" the charge to obtain my rightful REFUND DUE.

I purchased a pair of AE's, item #009547795 on 7-16-17. I was assisted by the AE "shoe expert" in selecting the proper size shoe. In addition to the cost of the shoe, I had heel and sole protection added to the shoe. After wearing the shoes they began to hurt my feet. Twice I to the shoes back to the Ashford Dunwoody Road store in Atlanta to be stretched but it did not help. I recently wrote AE's customer service and their response was basically it was my fault for selecting the wrong size shoe. It did take me two years to finally write AE to complain, but that was because I own approximately 10 pairs of Johnston Murphy shoes. I sent their customer service pictures of my JM collection as well as the pair of AE's to show I really owned multiple pairs of quality shoes and that was the reason I was not in a hurry to complain. AE's Reference number is 191128-000355. I will probably never purchase another pair os AE's. If I do, I will certainly not rely on their "shoe expert."

I've had 3 orders in a row cancelled over the past year. Customer service is non-existent and it takes an average of 6 weeks to get a refund. Allen Edmonds used to be known for their customer service, too bad things have changed. It sounds like the quality keeps dropping so maybe it's a blessing in disguise.
Zero Inventory. No one answers the phone. Takes 5 days to respond via email.
This company's customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with. Had to purchase two pair of shoes because they told me they do not offer refunds. Now they are telling me shoes that were supposed to ship in 4 days are going to take a month. Their Black Friday sale was a bogus way to move inventory that needed crafting. None of that was available for Christmas delivery. They SCAMMED me. I also now can not cancel the order.

Their customer service needs a lot of improvement!! I have purchased at least 8 pairs of Allen Edmonds in the last few years. I was expecting that customer service would offer to follow up with Fedex as to when I should be receiving my package. It has been about 8 days later from date of purchase and up to this time have not receive the estimated delivery date. Allen Edmonds you need to do a better job in taking care of your loyal customers!!!!
OVER-PRICED & OVER-RATED

10/07/19: Purchased online an on-sale ($315 vs. $425) pair of 'Strand Weave Cap-Toe Oxfords' in 'Dark Chil' color which were not in stock and required ca. 3 weeks to deliver. Once shoes arrived I was dissatisfied with the poor dying and lack of shine and debated whether I could be satisfied, but finally decided against keeping. Already having one pair of AE in 'Walnut', I phoned CSR about exchanging for the 'Walnut' color but told exchanges only for same color and style.
11/26/19: Posted a 2-star review on AE's website to which I got a response to phone CSR and resolve,.
12/03/19: Phone AE's CSR believing this issue would be resolved to my satisfaction. Just got off the phone with CSR who told me what I was earlier told: "Exchanges only for same color in same style shoe." Really p****d off that AE would waste my time for a such a call.
CONCLUSION: i have purchased the last pair of AE shoes, which are highly over-priced and over-rated. AE wants buyers to believe they's walking around in Ferraris/1

Bought a pair of shoes stateside to be delivered to the UK and was told that they would handle the taxes as I had paid US sales tax.

I ordered a pair of Cordovan Park Ave shoes in black. They said 6-8 weeks delivery (special order, had to be made). Well the shoes arrived next day drop-shopped from South San Francisco. I wondered how this could be. Well the pair was not new, it appeared to be a demo sample for a store in the San Francisco area. The sole had scratches and the lace's were laced up. If it came from the factory none of this is done! One shoe was in the velvet bag, the other was allowed to bounce around in the box, but had another bag in the box that wasn't used at all, not even tissue paper was used? I call the company and asked if it was their policy to ship samples as new shoes. They wouldn't answer my question and said we are sorry! All she kept saying was I said I was sorry. No offer to sell me the shoes at a discount, only "SEND" them back if your not satisfied. I told her I will send the shoes back and everything else I ordered and will "NEVER" buy another pair of Allen Edmond shoes! I do not like dishonest companies, and lousy customer service. I will pay more money if I have to support a better company. And you wonder why "AMERICA" companies are struggling to survive these days, they treat their customers like crap! NEVER AGAIN ALLEN EDMONDS. Oh ya put a review section in your web site. I guess you don't care to hear the truth about a loser company!
I never receive my order of shoes!!!
I place an order for a pair of shoes on line at Allen Edmonds website. I also ordered 6 pairs of bags for my other shoes that I purchased from Amazon. They took my order and send me a confirmation of my order. 3 weeks later I received the bags, but NO SHOES!!!!
After I called the disastrous customer service, I was told that that item that I got confirmation of, was not available.
Stay away from this company that is going out of business!!!
