We are committed to sourcing the best products at the best prices for our customers and frequently have stock lots, clearance parcels and special offers available. Started by the Abakhan family in the late forties as a rug weaving business, the first retail outlet opened in Mostyn, North Wales over thirty years ago. As well as a major retail outlet, this site also occupies the head office and distribution operations of Michael Abakhan Ltd and is also a site of considerable local historic interest. The company has taken great care to preserve the old works buildings resulting in the presentation of an award by the Prince of Wales for the sympathetic restoration of the buildings. Still headed by family members, Abakhan has now been trading for almost 60 years, with 9 stores across the North West (North Wales, Manchester, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Bolton, Chester, Hanley, Preston & Shrewsbury). Helpful, kind staff and lovely fabrics
I cannot find any fault in either the products or their very helpful and kind staff. I have bought many fabrics and sewing stuff, and the quality is superb. The Liberty fabrics are extremely good value, and I cannot rate this company highly enough. No doubt I will be placing many more orders with them.

Got an issue? Not to worry
Had a small mess up with receiving the wrong coloured thread, it was sorted in a timely fashion and was easy to sort on my end. I received a 505 thread instead of a 504 that I had ordered, when I emailed to query if I could switch they communicated with their supplier, only to find out that 504 is no longer made! I got sent a free returns label via email and popped them in the post. Very easy, and very helpful, thanks!

Definitely recommend
I've been a fairly regular shopper here for years . I haven't needed to purchase anything for a while ( I probably have more 'stash' then they have !) but when I was looking for specific fabric this was the place to go .
They have a huge range of stock and plenty of bargains . Anything you order is sent out almost immediately .
I've never needed to use customer service as everything has been spot on every time .
Definitely recommend.

Great service

Great website experience
I discovered this store on a visit to the UK last year. I bought wool on that occasion to crochet a baby blanket. I was really impressed with the quality and softness of the wool which is not available in Ireland. I have since ordered wool on line from this store. Easy to use website. Quick dispatch and very good tracking. I will definitely use again despite having to pay customs charges in Ireland due to UK no longer a member of EU.

Great customer service.
Abakhan is a very good company to deal with. I recently order some plain dyed cotton material from them. One of the colours was a wee quarter of a yard short and customer service contacted me immediately offering a series of alternative options. Now that’s what I call customer service. The prices and the choice of fabric is amazing. Not only do they have lovely fabrics they also do a good range of yarn for knitting and crocheting. I would urge all crafters to take a look at Abakhan, it will be well worth the effort.

I had inadvertently put the wrong postcode on my order, hence my order was being passed from one Royal Mail sorting centre to another. I emailed Abakhan explaining my error and the next day I was copied into an email they had sent to the RM asking them to amend the postcode.
