After reading numerous good reviews on this company I ordered a camera at a good but not obviously fraudulent price. I was lucky enough to have missed a box to check about delivery and Robert called me. Only because I asked did he admit this was an "international" model, being sent to Ohio, to Ohio!!.He tried everything to divert me from cancelling this offer, including promise of a correct camera which I refused. I got the real nonsense double talk. Will see if my card gets refunded. Despite all the good reviews this is an unscrupulous company!!

I purchased a Sony RX 100 III after reading a number of reviews and thought it to be the perfect camera for backpacking, skiing and travel. I was thrilled with the service I received from 42nd Street Photo. (I placed my order over the phone.) My questions were answered and the camera and case that I purchased arrived very quickly.

I've been using this co. for 20+yrs, they've always come through for me.

I'm a professional photographer and I purchased a camera 5d mark 4 from the store 42nd street photo try to save money , very nice price $3099 and the lens 24-70 for additional price i was so excited and happy, after a month the camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding and i call them they sad bring the camera in we will check it I asked for the replacement, they refused they told me that they gonna send it to the canon to fix, after 4 weeks Instead 7 business days like that promise, after a week the camera broke down again, I went to the store again and I was p***** *** I told him I want my money back the told me no way they going to send again! The store manager sent again the camera to the Canon and on the third time the camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding, After big argument they didn't gave me money but they did replace a camera, and the new camera broke down on the meddle of the wedding AGAIN! After disappoint my clients in 4 weddings I wrote to so many places to ask for help to get my money back. It ended that they replace again the camera with the used one and not from the bo !!!
I'm very disappointed from this store and I'm never gonna get stuff from them again, I was tired to argue with them i spent $300 on the parking garage !

I have gotten two new cameras at 42nd street photo they are very prompt with there shipping and they are very help full with any questions you may have on the cameras , lenses and any other thing you may need for your product needs, and much more...

I am happy with my camera purchase. Also, Adam in the shipping department provided me with a complementary upgrade memory card as a gift from the store as an appreciation of my purchase. I would purchase from them again.

42nd Street Photo store is one of the oldest stores in New York. when ever we need any photography material be it camera lens or anything only this name came in our mind due to its good reputation for after sales services etc.

I am using services of 42Photo from the last 2 years, One of the best thing what I like, that 42Photo offers the range of different photography products such as cameras, camcorders and also offers accessories.

I have ordered from 42nd Street Photo on several occasions and love to order here! I find that the customer service personnel are knowledgeable and very helpful. Having these guys available when I have a question about photography and/or a product is so very important it is just unfortunate they can't come down south and open a store!!

I had recently got my camera stolen from me so buying a new camera was quite difficult but i wanted to make sure this camera got everything right for photos and video 42nd st photo really helped not only was i able to get the camera with all great featured i was able to get quick and easy financing it. there were a few mishaps they for got the battery but they easily corrected it by sending another overall i would say great service great products

I ordered a camera lens yesterday and received a call today from Ralph at 42photo asking if I wanted to pay an extra $75 to have the lens "calibrated." When I questioned the need for this service, I was told that I had ordered the "international version" and can get the US version instead for the sale price of $749, an extra $70 over what had been advertised. The website and email confirmation does not specify that the lens is an "international version." When I brought this up, Ralph told me that I should have known that it wasn't the US version based on the low price. There is no mention of the price being discounted because the lens is an "international version." I asked to cancel the order, the salesman did not understand why but then agreed. During the call he became belligerent and rude before the call was disconnected. I have lost trust and confidence in 42nd st photo. They also specify on the website that "we do not charge your credit card until the item is ready to be shipped" but my CC was charged. Buyer beware.

**UPDATE** I'm changing my rating from 1 star to 2 stars because my payment was quickly refunded in full. I would just ask that 42nd Street Photo be clearer in their selling listings, especially when there are 2 different versions of products that vary greatly in warranty service (ie., US vs International version). Thanks.
BTW: I considered changing to 3 stars but the interaction did not fulfill the definition for 3 stars, "acceptable experience but with some friction."

I got a camera from them on November 2016, the camera i wanted was on their site but they didn't have it so i got a different one, which was ok except the fact that they had a deal on their site which didn't exist.
A few weeks ago i needed to get it fixed, i assumed it was under Nikon 1 year warranty and sent it to Nikon, they send it back to me saying that it was a grey market camera and that they don't fix it!!!
I send 42nd street a mail and got no reply, so i called them.
When i called 42nd street they told me they only give 30 days warranty on Nikon stuff since they are not an authorized dealer!!!
I wouldn't recommend buying Nikon from them. go to your local store and buy from a proper Nikon dealer.
I am not including all the details, like the fact that they tried and push a filter i didn't need for 70$ and more...
wouldn't recommend them.

We love our camera! It's small and easy to use, but takes great pictures. We used it recently for two family weddings, and the pictures were beautiful! Customer service is outstanding.

I needed a good walk around lens for my Canon camera. I was recommended the Canon 24-105mm F/4L lens by a photographer friend. I searched on line for the best price and found it at 42nd St Photo. 42nd Street is a name I know from my dad buying cameras when I was young. When I started looking for a DSLR camera I was hesitant to buy over the internet but it was an excellent experience and the staff on the other end was very knowledgeable.
