Booking wasn't working periodically, the backend management of bookings got messed up, and still not sure if its resolved but notifications for booking were not being sent... Still not sending all of the notifications.
The support staff must be very stressed because they seemed to be rude and provided no information, days after our website manager sent login credentials and asked for an update.
Amelia has a great price point, but their customer service and update testing needs to be improved.
Critical production failure after v9 release – unacceptable handling
I am the owner of a clinic that relies on WPAmelia as our booking system.
On December 22, 2025, WPAmelia released a major update (version 9). Immediately after this release, our booking system became severely broken and unusable for daily operations.
The issues include:
The calendar no longer displays appointments. Customers, employees, and administrators cannot see any bookings.
As a result, bookings cannot be viewed, edited, or deleted through the system.
Automated email reminders are no longer being sent to customers.
Administrators can no longer create or manage bookings from the dashboard.
Customers are still able to book new appointments via the website frontend, but all backend management functionality is effectively broken.
The only reason we have been able to operate at all is because I have a background as a software engineer. I have had to manually query the database to retrieve appointments and make direct edits. This means every customer request to view or change an appointment must be routed through me personally. This is time-consuming, error-prone, and completely unsustainable.
From a professional standpoint, releasing a major, system-critical update immediately before the holidays, and then leaving without adequate developer support, is entirely unacceptable. I work with system-critical software myself, and this would never be considered an acceptable release strategy.
What makes this worse is the response from support. Despite providing:

Support has downplayed the severity of the issue and suggested it is related to our setup, despite clear evidence to the contrary.
Multiple days have now passed with no resolution, and tickets are being closed simply because they have been open for too long — even though the problem remains unresolved.
This incident has caused significant operational disruption and loss of trust. At this point, I cannot recommend WPAmelia for any business that depends on reliability, support, or professional release practices.
After Amelia’s update on December 22nd
After Amelia’s update on December 22nd, our entire booking system basically stopped working.
We can’t see any appointments in the calendar, neither as admin, employee or customer. Customers don’t receive reminders anymore, and we can’t even edit, duplicate or delete bookings without errors (e.g. “invalid key”). The only reason our business is still running is because my partner has IT skills and has to go directly into the database every single day to manage appointments — which is absolutely insane for a booking plugin we pay for.
We contacted support immediately and provided everything they asked for (screenshots, recordings, admin access). Still, the issue has not been fixed for 3 weeks.
What makes this even worse: we have now spoken to 4 other Amelia customers who are experiencing the same problems after the update. That clearly shows this update was released without proper testing. Launching a major update right before holidays and then going on vacation without ensuring things work is extremely irresponsible — especially for a plugin that businesses depend on daily.
This has caused real financial loss and a huge amount of stress.
Extremely disappointing and unprofessional.
Complete Fail
I have recently created a website for a client which uses the Amelia booking app. I chose it because the reviews are so good. So good, in fact, I purchased the lifetime Pro licence.
However, on launch it quickly became apparent that Stripe payments via the system were failing after a client made a first booking, rendering the system useless.
I contacted support via the Melograno site three days ago. The bot couldn't help but said the question I posed would be read by a human and I'd be contacted by email. I have heard nothing, and my client is losing money while bookings can't be made.
This has been a very stressful experience. I guess the app is fine if it works, but don't count on support getting back to you in a timely fashion if things go wrong.

No customer service and frustrating
No customer service and when they finally do reply its your own fault its not working but won't show you how to get it going! Spent countless hours trying to have it set up - why is it so bloody hard i just need a simple booking plug in for our tour company. Asked for a refund and got - s the bot said, this isn’t a live chat, as we are handling a lot of tickets on a daily basis, patience is much appreciated. You already have a booking page configured, but your booking form isnt correct. As you can see, it works on the front end --- NEWS FLASH it doesn't work on the front end thats why I'm asking for help!!! So frustrating I would not recommend at all!
Terrible plugin - NO customer support
We needed a simple booking plug-in for our dog grooming business. We looked at several and finally settled on Amelia. Now, we are finding this was a big mistake! The plug-in is very complicated to set-up and there is virtually no customer support. The company is in the UK and you can't reach anybody in customer support during the day time in the US. Very poor customer support. We would definitely not recommend this plug-in. It is a nightmare to try to set-up and after spending two full days trying to get it set-up, it is still not working on our website! Super Frustrated!!!! Now searching for a simpler booking plugin.

Great plugin & customer support
We’ve been using the Amelia plugin for a few years and it provides the options we need for customers to book their own appointments online, particularly the ability to accept partial payments/deposits, granular control over scheduling time slots, and the employee panel function.
We’ve run into occasional problems with the functionality of the plugin, however, customer service has consistently solved the issue in a reasonable timeframe.
Their customer support people are always professional, responsive, and friendly. I recommend the Amelia booking plugin for those looking for ease of use and good customer support.
