I am a former English professor who taught English, civics, and ethics at one of Korea's top universities, but wasn't certified until I came back to Canada. Although certification is not usually required to teach English in most Korean universities, provided one is a native speaker, I definitely recommend doing so BEFORE going to Korea. I took the TESOL, TEAL and TEOL courses at World TESOL Academy, and I was very pleased with the throughness, rigour, and practicality of doing these accredited certificates for a very reasonable price at this school. After I completed my last certificate, I have stayed in touch with my tutor, and she has provided great support as I relaunch my career in the online realm. She even reviewed my resume and suggested ways to make it better, so no complaints here! This is a great and inexpensive way to get a TESOL certificate!

Excellent value for money. Legitimate company.
My bank manager was somewhat worried about the payment for this course, following a problem elsewhere. However, it was fine. The course was good; the virtual assistance correct. I learned quite a lot that I did not know. I did my exam correctly without cheating. If the company want to make any improvement, then an official timed and registered online test would be an idea to maintain the validity and value of the certificate. But for now, I am very happy that I have done this course. It took me less than 120 hours and my time was well spent.

I did the World Tesol Academy , 120 hours TESOL/TEFL course. What an experience! I was astonished at the thoroughness and complexity of the course when done properly. It completely exceeded my expectations. I expected a very basic course but instead reliased it was a comprehensive course. It offered additional resources with excellent online support. The lessons are clear, well structured and cover a wide variety of topics, they are easy to follow and the tests cover the material covered during the lessons.
I have learnt some new techniques and theories I am now applying whilst teaching my classes.

The course had easy access to its each module. The division and choice of teaching material was researched quite well. Moreover, it was a great feature to add hyperlinks to read further on a certain topic. Quiz questions were to the point and tested the retained information in a comprehensive manner.

I had a great experience with the TESOL course of World TESOL Academy. I find that it's a really useful course for teaching techniques because I can improve my knowledge and skills to apply effectively in teaching English. Besides, the academy has a professinal website as well as a dedicated customer care team. I appreciate these aspects and everything the academy gave me.

Access to the course is easy, the flexibility of the course makes my life easier to do the course anytime anywhere same time the contents are in simple English so it's easy to understand the meanings. The quizzes at the end of each subtopic are a great way to test our knowledge.
The techniques taught are simple and easy to put into practice. I really like the option of getting a hard copy of the certificate. I enjoyed each content in the course and got couple of tricks under my sleeve which I am going to bring to my class.
Navigating around the web site is great there is a job board and its very useful to get a job. The contents are up to date i love it. Thank you for the support

I took the 120-hour course. It was a great way for me to learn step by the step lessons on grammar and teaching. The way it was conducted in a self learning format was “user friendly” and anyone can do it at his/her own motivated pace. I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to teach or teaching English.

This course was user friendly and comprehensive. I am a retired ESL teacher in the State of Texas and originally considered TESOL to be a refresher course BUT, quickly realized that TESOL was indeed my major source of practical information. I was able to enjoy summer travel while working this course. The test format helped along the way, giving me confidence to go on to the next lesson. I kept good notes which helped in several ways. I now have a pad full of notes to refer to while teaching. The lessons were organized and made perfect sense. I found it impossible to get lost while logged into the lessons. Font choice is perfect with appropriate bold and highlighted words and phrases. I do have one one bit of feed-back on a section that just didn’t sit right with me. In the section covering classroom management and managing behaviors, consequences are addressed for inappropriate behaviors. In a list of appropriate consequences, it is noted that “assign extra homework” is an option. I don’t believe this particular choice should be listed. After 23 years of teaching, I feel that choice puts a negative tag on the value of education. We just can’t use education as a painful consequence. Thanks for hearing me out.
