Overall, we had quite a prolonged, frustrating, and ultimately disappointing experience with Worktops.Com that led to us having to remove and rectify works that they’d done.
The positives are that the granite we got is very nice, the price was good and Peter the main salesperson is polite. However, the negatives were that the whole process took many months and we ultimately ended up with an overhang around our island unit of 20cm rather than the 30cm that we had wanted. This was all a result of a misunderstanding that occurred following a conversation with the kitchen fitter when he was templating.
One of the big issues with Worktops.Com is that their communication is so poor and muddled. Depending on who we spoke with from the company, we’d almost always get a different answer. We’d often wait weeks for promised samples to arrive, and when they finally did, they were different from the ones we’d asked for. We had to chase things up endlessly. One morning I even found a granite sample we’d been waiting for dumped onto my front lawn (this had been dumped without any word the proceeding night). The fitter from Worktops.com visited our house on 3 separate occasions, and each time we were promised he’d arrive in the morning but instead he’d turn up early evening with no text or call made to let us know. We’d have to wait around all day. When the granite was installed, we realised that the overhang around the island was inadequate. After speaking to Wortops.Com they insisted that this is what we’d asked for and just wouldn’t accept that there had been a simple misunderstanding. We’d waited 3+ months and spent over £5500 but still the company had little interest in resolving our complaint. In fact, the staff member who oversaw the complaint even refused to ever speak with me on the phone, citing the reason that she didn’t have a work phone number! We offered to employ 3rd party mediation to try and reach an agreement but Worktops.Com weren’t interested. In the end we had to employ another fitter to remove the granite worktop, then take 10cm off the island before re-fitting it.
If you’re after good value stone, then maybe Worktop.com are a good option. But if you want a professional service with good communication then I’d look elsewhere.

After a last minute let down from another provider Peter and his team provided an absolutely amazing service - we have a stunning new worktop that’s nicer than the original and was also cheaper! Communication was good and the installers did a very efficient and very beautiful job. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Poor after service. This company supplied and fitted new quartz worktops in our new double kitchen a year ago. Their price was comparable to our local suppliers but with a much shorter lead time. They achieved this by allocating the job to an installer based in Middlesex as their local installer was fully booked. The templating team came and measured up without any problems. They seemed competent and answered all our questions. The boss said they would install up-stands for us from the off cuts free-of-charge.
The installation team came as scheduled and that is where the problems started. It was not the same people who did the templating and they had little English. There were a number of snagging issues and we only got up-stands in the utility. We were assured the snagging would be attended to quickly in June. It was finally done in October, The butchered double sink fitting could not be resolved without purchasing a new carcass. They would not retrofit fit up-stands unless we paid another £1000
We are still in-dispute, they offered us a £100 Amazon Voucher which we rejected having spent £5500 with them.
The moral is be careful with this company - make sure that they use a local installer and monitor the work very closely. Make sure that the work plan clearly details the job.

My response to the Work Tops Reply,
You neglected to say that one of your Directors visited after the work was completed and saw the snagging issues first hand. He assured me that the snagging would be attended to ASAP and asked me to give you a positive Google review to reassure customers that they could safely order from you online. Which I did because I believed what he told me, I did make mention of the snagging in that review. Little did I know that it would be nearly a year before the installer came back to attend to the snagging. By then my opinion of your company changed and the £100 Amazon voucher offer was by way off compensation. Do not attempt to denigrate me as an awkward customer. You demand payment prior to installation - my advice to other customers is to pay 50% up front and the balance on completion.
I was more than patient with you, your installer told me that they would fit the sinks as it had to be done at during installation of the work tops. My contract was with you not them and you cannot deny responsibility.
Finally your sign off is both childish and un- professional, another warning sign as to the culture of your company.

they were helpful at start without being pushy and described all the options. from ordering to installation was very quick. first installation a piece was broken so they only took a week to reorder our unusual granite and refit( as it was slightly different from previous pieces they supplied and refitted all other pieces and cut new upstands.
all the fitters were helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
a seamless process at an extremely competitive price. nothing but praise for the company.

The people we dealt with took trouble to understand our requirements and arranged for us to view the granite slabs before committment to order. We were well informed of progress at all stages which was especially welcome. Installation went very smoothly.
We would use this Company again without hesitation.

Joints and seals need reapplying after a few months.

Visited work-top in Cambourne. Met very pleasant and helpful member of this company. Lots of choices, options given, everything explained clearly. Installation went smoothly too. Team very official and friendly.

I found the team from work-tops.com very helpful and communicative through the entire process. We were even able to select our granite slap before the installation. They showed us a good variety of stones with different patterns and colour variations. Because we could pick the actual stone we wanted we ended up with exactly the look we were after which is often a challenge with natural and organic products. The templating and the installation team were also punctual and did a wonderful job with good attention to detail and we are very happy with the end result. The kitchen now looks stunning! Peter from work-tops.com was really helpful and efficient all the way through to installation. He helped me find exactly what I wanted and offered a great price too. His team were friendly and did a brilliant job of our marble installation, which looks fantastic. We’re very happy and would definitely recommend.

In trying to source tiles to match existing ones we contacted a number of companies. Work-tops.com replied immediately to our questions. They took time to establish exact what was needed and managed to match the tiles in the correct size. Some of the other companies didn't even reply. Subsequent post order queries were answered with the same speed. A online firm with a personal service. Would recommend this firm.

Although Work-tops.com was located in a different part of the country I was surprised and pleased that they were able to provide and fit my worktops. They did this quickly and efficiently. I would have had to wait a least a month had I used a local supplier

This company are interested while they take your money. They want 100% of the money prior to completing the job which is not competitive and leaves the consumer vulnerable. The stone masons they use (work-tops.com are just an unnecessary go between) broke one piece of the stone I purchased I was told by work-tops.com I can buy more stone at my own cost or to accept there will be a join in the material. No compensation was offered.
I accept issues and problems occur in life, for me the mark of a person or company is how a problem is resolved. In this case, the company lacked the ability to accept the problems they had caused or recompense me appropriately for it. I checked their company accounts and knew then I was left exposed to just having to accept the mess that had been created and say goodbye to any chance of financial compensation. Please remember, they will not tell you verbally but you will have to pay 100% of the bill prior to them completing the work and there are plenty of other companies that will not expect that from their consumers.

I had a 5 star experience with work-tops without the high price tag. Peter was very helpful and knowledgeable. The quality of the stone was superb and was exactly as described on the website. The fitters were outstanding and I am one very happy customer.

The sales team were really helpful and attentive. Spoke to Peter a few times and he was happy to discuss our requirements in details and share photos of what we were looking for as we were trying to match with some existing worktop. We providing our own technical drawing and it was appreciated that we had this option. We were initially anxious about paying so much upfront before installation but we agreed to pay on credit card and work-tops kept in touch and soon arranged installation. The installation team did a great job and we are really happy with the granite worktop we have had installation. Would recommend work-tops to others. Thank you and happy New Year!

This is just a few words to say what a wonderful fantastic experience I had purchasing a granite worktop from worktops.com and in particular PETER the process from start to finish was seamless from ordering the slab which I had plenty of choice to the template and then the eventual installation I was very very happy with my choice and the way it’s been installed and the boys have done a fantastic job I’m very happy and thanks for PETER for dealing with my situation and getting it done before the Christmas deadline thanks very much and works
