I hired WordHerd to migrate my site from Divi to have all content rebuilt in Gutenberg blocks. It was quoted as a 2-week job but it dragged on for almost 4 months. I was told the work was “complete” and had to pay in full before seeing it, only to find my key pages untouched, posts still full of Divi code, and all content left in the Classic Editor. WordHerd offered only a 10% refund, claiming “90% complete” based on post count, not actual work delivered. I would not recommend them.

These guys were great to work with. They understood our request and provided a compelling quotation quickly. Once accepted, they did the requested work in a timely and efficient manner. We then had some additional requests for custom WordPress development and they knocked that out as well. If you need to migrate Wix -> Wordpress as we did or something similar, I'd recommend WordHerd.io

“Incompetent, unprofessional, lazy, scammer”…

NOTE: This comment was originally written in another review except for the dates which i updated to my project.
The reason i copied-and-pasted this previous comment written by someone else is that it describes exactly our experience. My project went for months trying to get wH to respond (and just get them to a compromised finish. The project never got to any momentum. We finally decided it was better to just off-ramp from them and move on. It was a disaster / they grossly under estimated the price which unfortunately some decision maker in our org salivated for.. They do have the initial coding skills to get the project started. We became hopefully cautious when their request for payment was received. It was processed even though there was considerable room to argue that the first milestone wasn’t complete yet. We paid it for the sake of giving them the benefit-of doubt and promoting a positive relationship. At that point we were to sucked in. They had no commitment to communication/responsiveness to our emails, calls or our project goals (to achieve the prescribed layout that was in the request-for-quote). Don't be lured by the low pricing. You will get low-level results at the low-ball you paid for.

As mentioned above, here is what another reviewer said that accurately describes our experience too.

Customer service was Excellent! I spoke to Justin via the chat desk on the actual website. Justin was super accommodating and very helpful. We have a potential migration lined up from Scorpion to WordPress.

I will post another open and honest review here after the work has been completed.

in 2019, I needed to transfer the website I had created, WordHerd did it very efficiently. My website looked as it did before, with some much more professional details! I also regularly update my website through their system and it is really easy. Whenever the update is too complicated for me I contact them and they always respond and perform the update in a very timely manner. A definite recommendation!

Wordherd helped convert our website from a proprietary CMS that was being sunset to Wordpress. They were by far the most cost-effective solution we could find and completed the work under a tight deadline. They responded to our questions and concerns promptly throughout the project.

Any time I have a question or need assistance, I receive a prompt response. I appreciate the way my questions are answered. Sometimes I am technologically challenged, but I am never made to feel that way.

Not recommended. The worst experience with a contractor I've ever had. Hired to migrate Hubspot blog over to Wordpress. Lost all author data, deadline was in September and delivered the unfinished work in December, 3 months late. Every email takes weeks to reply. Ignore the good reviews and read the others - I'm not the only one! Company is a scam, don't have the skills to deliver the work, and can't really be bothered even if they did. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else. Sucks.

The most disappointing experience I've ever had with a programmer or, as a matter of fact, any freelancer I ever worked with. Kris originally told us the whole project will take 3 weeks to finish. It not only took over 3 month, but at the end I just had to move on to somebody, the project was not finished. In fact, it was at that stage where I had to start all over again with another person completely from scratch.
The communication was almost non existent, Kris would reply once a week or so, would postpone all the tasks all the time, claiming holidays or illness sometimes, but most of the times simply ignoring us.
At the end not only did I lose about $1 500, but also 3 months of precious time when my site could be running with a new design and new content.
Oh and by the way, he never replied to us when we asked to give the work that was finished (contacted numerous times over the phone and email), as well as he completely ignored my request to delete all my site's data from his staging site.
If you don't want to lose money and time, be super stressed about if your project will ever going to be finished and you can finally move on, stay away from this company as much as possible!
If you, for some reason, decide to work with them anyway, don't pay them 50% in advance like I did!

Read all the 1 star reviews all over the web and you’ll see a pattern with this unethical company.

They literally take ZERO responsibility for ANYTHING. Worst experience of our life and they caused severe damage to our business. Don’t worry, everything will be your fault.

- Months of delays? Your fault
- Security errors on your site? Your fault
- They forgot to send the final invoice but provide you with access to the site? Your fault and they’ll lock you out of your account preventing you from helping your customers until you pay them. And no they won’t bother sending you a courtesy email saying “hey, we forgot to invoice you. Can you please pay this in this next few days?” Nope….they immediately kick you out of your own site and are super unresponsive.

We had to open a dispute against them with American Express after months of delays and them not responding to us. We closed the disputes after they resolved the issue. They locked us out of our own accounts AGAIN and demanded we wire them money before giving us access back to our own account. They refused to call American Express with us to get confirmation that the dispute was closed. Instead they hold you hostage and demand you wire them money. Meanwhile you are locked out of your own “live” website and can’t help your customers. The absolute worst company on the planet. Avoid them at all costs

We needed to switch our website to a different content management system. They promised to deliver a website in about a month -- five to six weeks at most. For the next five and a half months it was one excuse after another, one delay after another, emails going unanswered, repeated promises that they were just about finished and would be done next week, and then failing to follow through.

Their Google reviews include a handful of very bad reviews which describe experiences very similar to ours. At the time, I thought they were anomalies, but now in hindsight, I can I see that I should have paid more attention.

Their approach to customer service is a joke.

They did not respond to questions.

They would not advise us where they were at unless we asked repeatedly, and their assurances were invariably empty. At one point they even blew us off with the excuse that they were busy. (We were paying customers!)

We asked repeatedly for a Zoom call to discuss the reasons for the continuing delays and broken promises. They didn't even acknowledge the request.

They got snippy with us when, as a hedge against exactly this situation, we made a backup of work in progress -- which we had paid for in full.

After more than six months into a project whose timeline they pegged at about a month, they finally stopped responding to my emails, and even dropped the pretense that they were going to finish. Under the circumstances, I just can't provide any constructive feedback. The lesson they should take from this is obvious, but I have no reason to think they will.

ETA: As we continued salvaging what we could and proceeding with the site's development on our own, we discovered that they had taken a unique approach to site programming and design. Features and settings that should be easy to adjust via easily accessible controls are instead sequestered behind things like Theme Options, which is itself almost completely impenetrable. Essentially, they have made things that should be easy almost completely unworkable. Could it be part of a strategy to build in problems only they could $olve? Who knows?

ETA: We also discovered, some months along, that they had gotten the name of one of our central content silos wrong. Not only did this screw up our pagination -- it also meant every URL in that silo was wrong, which meant every link was wrong, which meant god knows what to our SEO.

In sum, they took our money, jerked us around for months, didn't even come close to delivering what we had paid for, and finally ghosted us. They also seem to forget who's working for whom. Do not deal with these guys unless you enjoy throwing your time and money away.
