I have joined this site for a total of three days. After a few conversations that really just felt like I was been asked a list of standard questions from users who did not fir my profile parameters, I ran out of credits. So I bought the minimum amount and met and started chatting with the only person who meets my criteria in my country! After 2 days of chatting back and forth, I got a standard message again from him saying " Hi, I saw your profile and I wanted to say hi and what's new with you?" It's a definite scam with bots or staff members that are employed to maintain conversations so you spend credits chatting with them. I am awaiting my credits to be refunded. The company sent two messages trying to get me to send photos of the conversations to prove my point even adding an incentive for more credits, if I did so! but there is a right of withdrawal clause in the policies, within 14days, which means they are obliged to return unused credits. Do not be scammed into thinking you are stuck with this service if you have the same experience as me.
I suspect there are people who use this service to feel connected to others in a world that divides us. But I very much doubt any matches happen in the real world.

Really enjoying the conversations and pace here. It’s refreshing compared to typical dating apps. But I think the credit system could be explained more clearly, took me a while to figure out what’s free and what’s not. Still recommend it though!

I clicked Japansdates via a YouTube advert and signed up and there are a lot of matches to chat with, but it costs a lot to send and receive any kind of message, which feels like you're just wasting money to do something that shouldn't cost that much. So I decided not to continue using the site, but they won't delete my profile and my inbox is getting new messages every day from them! Score: 1 star only.
