horrible software. I was forced to use it for around 6 months and my experience has been pretty terrible.
The biggest one being licensing. It just works 50% of the times, when it doesn't work I open a file and a popup appears saying that the service doesn't work for x reason, it takes 5 minutes to resolve. And you need internet to use the program, I find this crazy why pcsoft ?

I don't get why anyone would be tempted to try to crack this kind of software, like why so many security that protect nothing ? It just makes the user experience worse. Like this is probably making them lose more money from the bad user experience because of this much useless security then if they just had normal licensing in the first place.

On top of that, the updates, they take forever despite having a good internet connection and all of this for having the software that crash every so often.

Also worth mentioning the software has no linux support that makes it pretty annoying because I had to install windows just for this software.

In my opinion no company should ever use their software stack. They should just use opensource software that is already available.

Thank you PC SOFT for this wonderful gift: SaaS… and especially the billing of the framework per user (sorry, “session” in your commercial jargon) ❤️

Really, this is exactly what we were missing to finally consider, with peace of mind, migrating our old WinDev applications to the Web… well, “the Web”, not “WebDev”, careful with the nuance… toward truly open technologies

After all, between an XXL annual invoice and an equally XXL migration, the choice is almost philosophical. Fortunately, from a purely rational financial standpoint, the calculation is simple: it will pay for itself very quickly. Very, very quickly

A respectful nod as well to the past and present technical teams for the creation of WinDev… that can’t have been easy.

Passage forcé au SAAS, abonnement forcé annuel...votre code vous appartiens..tant que vous payez sinon tant pis.
Changement de technologie rapidement car trop risqué pour nos clients.

Changement brutal et imposé de mode de licence. Avec le mode SAAS on vous tient à vie à payer une licence pour juste modifier ou lire vos sources des applications que vous pouvez avoir créé.
Au-delà du changement de système de licence c'est la confiance en la pérennité des achats chez PC SOFT qui me font douter de l'avenir.
Si vous avez déjà développé des logiciels avec PC SOFT pour vivrez certainement cela comme une vraie arnaque.
Et si vous vous posez la question du choix du produit de développement choisissez une alternative.
J'attends vivement les questionnaires de satisfaction de PC SOFT pour leur dire à quel point ma confiance en la pérennité du produit et plus qu'entamée.
Les licences SAAS vont certainement leur apporter beaucoup plus dans un avenir proche mais beaucoup moins sur la durée je ne serai plus du tout prescripteur des produits PC SOFT la versatilité commerciale peut avoir des conséquences trop graves pour la gestion de mon business.

Depuis la mise en place de leur système de SaaS, c'est purement et simplement du vol autorisé. Ma licence 2024 (dongle) serait rétrogradée en version 23, soit 6 versions antérieures en cas de passage à un abonnement. Et en cas d'arrêt de l'abonnement je n'aurais plus accès à mes sources ...
Un conseil : pour les anciens comme moi ... passez a autre chose ... pour les nouveau intéressés ... passez votre chemin...
Le produit est assez bon mais la politique commerciale actuelle est une pure arnaque.

BETRAYAL FROM PC SOFT

I've been a happy Windev user since 1994. I can say I love it!
But I'm very unhappy and feel betrayed.
I'm not against the SAAS model, but the way PCSoft manages it, especially the downgrade of licenses even though we've paid for them, forces me to reject the SAAS model.
I find their aggressive, backward sales approach disappointing.
It's a shame for a tool that is a real gem and which, unfortunately, in my opinion, is heading for technological disaster.
Switching to SAAS means that our USB drives are downgraded 8 generations (8 years!) (downgraded to WD23 even though we paid for versions 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 2024, and 2025). I'm sorry, but this is a scam!
There is a way to move to a SAAS system in a more honest way, but of course it requires reflection, listening to these customers (us), but they are too arrogant to understand it (alas).
We, the creators of custom software solutions for our customers, are in a good position to believe that anything is possible...
And I've created a lot of special solutions in the 40 years I've been programming five-legged sheep.
This is an additional stab in the back (after the prepubescent adolescent marketing) to programmers (loyal customers) who have made their wealth and supported them for over 30 years. We are very sad.
