I am 53 and was considering a hair transplant in London in 2025. Having a severely receding hairline I was starting to come around to having a hair transplant after my brother in Australia got successful and very natural results.

I had used Grok AI to provide the top 10 hair transplant clinics in the country. I had decided I would inquire into the top 3. Wimpole was one of them. I made an inquiry via the Wimpole web page. Simone was the first one to get back to me and organised a call swiftly. The way Simone explained the procedure and provided his own experience put me at ease. He then Organised a video call with Dr Barry. His responsiveness, caring, experience and factual way of dealing with me brought me to the conclusion I would go with Wimpole.

Leading up the procedure he was always available extremely punctual and organised with meetings and providing me with information leading up to the procedure. This continued to give me confidence during a nervous time when I could have pulled out.

The team on the day was exceptional. Dr Barry was warm, caring (particularly during the local anaesthetic injections he was extremely empathetic), and the support team (Nadia and one other) were professional and experts in their field. The day completed without a hitch, lovely lunch was provided and Informative consultation about my after care.

The after care provided by Simone was exceptional. He was like clockwork every day for 2 weeks. Each morning I would receive a text reminding me of the aftercare steps for the day and what I could and couldn’t do. He also asked for photos each day and would call me to provide a review of my pictures and check up there were no issues. Simone was truly exceptional and was the difference (along with the team on the day) in me booking the procedure and my confidence in referring Wimpole.

Overall, my experience with Wimpole has been very positive. I’m now five months into my transplant and really pleased with the progress so far.

I attended the Manchester clinic and immediately found the team welcoming and professional. My main rep, KJ, has been great, thorough, and reassuring from the start, which has made me feel very relaxed through the whole process. Although I’d already done extensive research, he explained everything clearly and made me feel confident in my decision.

As someone who identifies as Non-Binary, it was very important to me that my hairline wasn’t overly masculine but more neutral and reflective of my gender identity. I was slightly nervous about raising this, but the Consultant genuinely listened and worked with me to design something that felt right. That meant a lot and made me feel respected and taken seriously.

The procedure itself was straightforward, not entirely pleasant, but very tolerable.
Lunch is provided on the day and although it’s fairly simple, it's perfectly adequate to keep you going for the second half of the procedure.

The aftercare guidance was clear and helpful during the early recovery weeks, and KJ stayed in regular contact, checking in and answering any questions. Even now, he continues to follow up monthly as I’m approaching my six-month in-person review.

At five months, the transplanted areas are filling in well, and it’s reassuring to know I’m only halfway through the growth timeline. The first few months are the toughest, but it does get easier.

After researching for six months, I chose not to travel abroad. I wanted somewhere accessible, where I wouldn’t feel rushed, and where my gender expression would be taken seriously and where my input to my hairline was listened to rather than given a ‘cookie cutter’ approach.

While having the procedure done in the UK is more expensive, the peace of mind and quality of care made it worth it for me.

I’d happily recommend Wimpole for your hair transplant and if you’re based in the North, the Manchester clinic and the whole team made it an easy choice for me.

Had a hair transplant at the Manchester wimpole clinic. After going to a few different places for consultations I went with wimpole Manchester as it was the most informative and not pushy. KJ was brilliant from the start putting you at ease on the day of surgery and keeping in touch everyday of recovery. Dr Band and the team on the day of surgery made me feel at ease and professional. Just waiting to see my results grow now but very happy with the service.

KJ and all the staff at the Manchester clinic made the whole process before, during and after, feel very comfortable and took away the nerves and apprehension I felt around the procedure.

Too early to rate the success of the transplant but hoping to return in the coming months with a positive update!

Couldn’t be happier with the results after 6 months. I initially went into the Bristol office to meet with Adam who was very knowledgable and informative. I booked the transplant in with the Birmingham team for August and cannot speak highly enough of the team. They did a fantastic job and really made me feel at ease.

The aftercare and the ability to contact Adam post surgery was really reassuring. As I said really happy with the results and would definitely recommend.

Made the experience feel relaxed and at ease

After alot of research I decided to start my journey march 2025 with a consultation at the leeds pre op centre, they gave me realistic expectations and discussed questions i had and gave me assurances. There were OTHER NON WIMPOLE clinics closer to me but they had some negative reviews so I decided against them, felt very comfortable booking with wimpole.

Booked my surgery for December 2025 and any questions I had throughout the year leading up to it were answered.
When I got to the surgery on the morning I was made to feel at ease by all the staff and was welcomed by the clinic manager MATHU, one thing I liked was that I was there for about an hour before I was asked for payment, the overriding feeling was that they wanted me comfortable and at ease with the day.
My procedure was led by Dr Harpreet Kalra and his highly skilled team and they were all fantastic, they talked me through what to expect on the day, aftercare, what to expect and when so theres no surprises, and also talked me through every step they were doing throughout the day.

Special mention goes to KJ from the Manchester clinic, I was assigned him as my aftercare specialist and hes been fantastic throughout, daily contact for the first few weeks whilst everything heals and always available to answer any questions I had even though they have probably heard them a thousand times. 2 months later and hes still in regular contact seeing how I am and making sure everything is going well.

I initially came for a consultation in December 2024 where KJ and the team ran through the process with me. I left gap between then and having my transplant in October 2025.

I messaged KJ and he sorted everything for me and got me booked in at the next session that worked for me, maintaining the same price and grafts quoted in my initial consultation.

The procedure was thoroughly explained to me and went smoothly. I went for the partially shaved option, leaving my hair long on top, with little downtime I was back to normal after a week. I can’t thank the team enough. I’m now 4 months on and my hair is growing back in better everyday.

I was at Manchester clinic. Everyone was so helpful, I took a little turn near the end of my procedure where my blood pressure dropped. But they went out of there way to go to the shop and get me a fizzy drink, crisps to get it back up they where absolutely brilliant. Also a mention to kj who's also be so helpful answering any questions I have and checking up on how I'm doing.

It’s nearly 3 weeks now since my FUE hair transplant with Wimpole at the Manchester clinic. Everything has been perfect,I went for the initial consultation with KJ who was brilliant and gave me all the information I needed, told me how many grafts I would need which was 2200 to fill in my hairline and crown. KJ then sorted everything for me including the run up to the surgery and kept me informed all the way and even passed on info to book a hotel.
When I went to the Manchester clinic in the morning all the staff were brilliant and kept me informed all the way and made me feel comfortable, the surgery took about 5 to 6 hours and stopped for lunch which they provided and was lovely. The surgery was pain free apart from the initial injections which wasn’t too bad at all. After the surgery they gave me all the information I needed to take care of my transplant and gave me a bag to take home with shampoo etc and what to do for the next few weeks.
KJ was in touch every day after surgery checking how things were and asking for photos so he can see it was all healing ok. Over all it’s been a great experience and I would recommend the Wimpole clinic Manchester to anyone.
