They repossessed a car unlawfully then played games when it was time to pay them to get the car back I was hung up on twice today just for asking a simple question because the only way to make a payment is through MoneyGram and I needed the biller account number and they wouldn't even give it to me

I do NOT recommend Westlake Financial. They are terrible. Thank God I did not get a loan through them. Dealing with them was a total waste of our time. As someone else said in their review, they do not notate accounts so you have to repeat yourself many times and speak to many different people. They also lie to you. Eduardo Alva lied to us and told us he would come in on a Saturday to get our loan finished after I told him how frustrated I was that he did absolutely nothing he told us he was going to do and knew we took off work that day to get it done. The prequalification is way different than the actual approval as well. When he didn't do what he said he was going to do on Saturday, we went to a dealership and got approved for a nice BMW that day! It was a hassle-free experience that we wished we had done in the first place. We had no idea what SCUM Westlake Financial are.

Like everyone else our loan transerred here and They charging us to insufficent fee. This company is a scam needs to be shut down!!!

This is the worst company I've ever done business with. Once my loan is over, I will NEVER do business with them again. As someone who also works in customer service, I am appalled at the low level of customer service these reps deliver. I dread every time I have to call them. You have to explain everything multiple times to different agents because, apparently, they don't notate customer accounts. Unheard of! Also, I don't appreciate when they ask if you're interested in auto pay. NO! I have other bills and I'm paid bi-weekly. Avoid this company like the plague.

I have tried speaking to several Westlake employees about getting my payments taken Care of. My wife was was suppose to make a payment arrangement payment I had ser up for 4/22/25 and she forgot because j have literally been in the hospital receiving treatment for my lung cancer and it was not made and and so I called in 4/28/25 to reset up a payment for the 5/2/25 but was told it was to late and that I would have to make a payment by the 30th of 04. No way POSSIBLE. And i would finish catch up the late payment by next Friday 05/09/25. But when they switched between callers the male which was the 2nd caller just said thank you for calling Westlake financial and hung up the phone in my ear. Very dam rude. I'm trying my best to catch everything up but y'all are making it very difficult. Please help me, phone number is 713-412-3347

I was signed up for a car loan from Westlake financial aka Western Funding. The Scam dealership BuyherepayhereMD located at 5001 Belair Road in Baltimore MD. had me sign on for them. My payments were supposed to be 351.16 a Month per the agreement of the dealership. When I got my first statement, I was paying 706.26 a month which is double the agreed Payment. I called Westlake/Western Funding. They refused to do anything about it. I made my payments and noticed that 706.26 only 200$ of it going to principle, while the rest went to Interest. They told me it's a high interest loan which I was never told the interest, they are charging me 50% interest after running the numbers. at the end i would be paying a total of 55K for this ragly vehicle. I put 8K down on this vehicle to reduce my payments, and it was pocketed by Westlake/dealer, and it was a lemon. a 2018 Hyundai Tuscan is not 29K even brand new. The guy said 15K but changed the paperwork then sent it over. I asked the Stealer ship to take it back and they refused. I asked to trade in, and they refused. They kept running my credit even 24 hours later, making it harder to get something better. Westlake repossessed the vehicle and sold it. blamed me for the issues when it was sold to me like that. and yet they still harass me from 100s of random numbers a day, threatened to lock me up if I don't give them 20G. Stay away from them at all costs. They are just crooks.

The worst experience ever, do yourself a favour and avoid this company no matter the offer. The customer service is bad, and the terms they offer are far from great. Those financial services will steal your life and money. can't wait to leave this behind me.
definitely not gonna recommend this company to any person I know.

Westlake Financial & Wilshire Consumer Credit are SCAMMERS! I paid off my auto loan in full on 05/03/2025, yet they are STILL refusing to release my title.I have called multiple times, and they keep taking me around in circles, telling me it takes 40 days to process. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, they refused and they hung up on me multiple times. They refuse to provide a written reason why my title is not being released. This is pure theft from this company do not do business with them. I am seeking a legal remedy because at this point they have stolen my car title. Get a lawyer to deal with this scam company.

I switched to Westlake during something of a lull in my credit monitoring because the lease was expiring on my car. They lowered my monthly payment and had a better interest offer than my other options at the time, so it was - to me - a no-brainer.

Fast forward a year, and I'm looking at pursuing a loan for a large, unrelated expense. You can imagine my surprise when I pulled my credit and found that I had no reported balance or payments on my car. They reported NOTHING to the credit bureau, and as such my credit had just been sitting and doing nothing. This has SEVERELY impacted my capacity to seek the funding I need to fix my house.

Under advisement from a friend, I tried to call their customer service to see if I could get them to fix it - but there is NO customer service. At all. You can't get a hold of ANYONE. The best they have is a crappy chat bot that isn't capable of answering questions that aren't pre-populated.

What a joke. I will be switching my auto loan to a different company. If Westlake pops up as an option for you, do yourself a favor and pass. You'll be better off paying a company that reports your payments so that you can seek better financing down the road.

BEWARE!!@ This company is pure evil! They refuse extra payments, early payoff etc. My loan 15k after 3 years I still owe 10k... when signing they said it's a 6 year loan but it will take more than 11 years or more. Monthly payment 485$.. 395$ goes to interest and 90$ to principal! How is this legal?

Now I cannot register or sell my car because they are illegally holding my title hostage despite my loan being PAID IN FULL. I have now filed complaints with the CFPB and my State Attorney General to force them to act.

I purchased a used auto from CarsIndex, the dealer used Weslakes Financial for financing. There were some issues with the auto pay set up on their end, when I set it up, entering all required information, it appeared to go through, no rejections for incorrect information, so I assumed it was in place. I found out that it was not from a phone call from dealer. I immediately checked my Weslakes account, paid the late Jan payment and also paid the Feb payment. Receiving confirmation of payment, even though 1st payment was late. Shortly after the dealer called me and informed me I had to bring the car back, that Westakes informed them to get the car back. I tooke the car back on Feb 15, although the 1st two payments were made with proof of payment showing in my bank account. Do not use Westlakes Financial for any financing. They have been successfully sued by the US Justice Department and many individuals according to my legal research.

THE WORST FINANCIAL FACILITY IS THE WORST. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. They steal your money. They have incompetent staff who know nothing. They keep passing the buck if they don't have the right answer. You can NEVER speak to a supervisor to assist you. They stole my refund from my gap insurance. NEVER SENT ME A DEBT CARD AND WHEN THEY DID THE CARD EXPIRED AND THEY TOOK THE 916.00 dollars back. I am out 916.00 and can’t do anything about it.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would recommend using any other loan servicer but this one. As another review stated, if you are late on your payment by a day, they will not stop calling and harassing you. I made a payment and now they are saying they never got the money, and I owe 500 dollars. They are scammers and should not be allowed to harass people over a late payment to this extent.

I called the title department to get a issues resolved. they released the title in the wrong person's name. After several calls to title department. I spoke with a Gustavo Arandas? who was the rudest customer service rep I have ever dealt with (he is in the wrong profession) he would not let me talk and was so rude then hung up on me. From one financial intuition to another they should do better .

So, they have a ''PARTNER COMPANY'' GLOBALTRACK GPS LLC I got a call from someone that I needed to get this GPS tracker on my new Truck to help me if ever gets stolen blah, blah blah... I never installed it, told them they can have it back and basically said I cannot return it and now it's like having a second LIEN on your car. If you pay off the car and never paid their service fee monthly, they will hold your tittle until you pay them off. WHAT!!! Who does this type of business?? Scammers... Nobody from both companies, WESTLAKE FINANCIAL SERVICES or GLOBALTRACK GPS LLC will remove it from my account. They said if I don't pay it they will hold tittle ''basically a lien'' so now not even A SUPERVISOR from both can resolve the issue. I REPEAT DON'T DO BUSINESS HERE. They are not honest and don't care about their customers. Miguel Cueto from Global is garbage as a supervisor there. Do not sign or purchase anything from them as they will scam you too.

If I didn't have to choose Westlake, I wouldn't have. It's the biggest scam of a company. Customer service is terrible. One representative says one thing and another says something different. How are companies like this still open? We're already taken advantage of by the world, now by companies too! I'm thankful for the loan, but if I'd known all this would come from choosing them, I would have kindly walked away and just waited. #Unscrupulous #TerribleCustomerService #ShutThisCompanyDown
