A three week project took 4 months. We were replacing over 30 windows in our house.
The project started Jan and should have taken 2 to 3 weeks. It ended April.
They installed most of the windows in 2 weeks, but
when they took out balcony sliding doors and tried to fit the new one, it was too big. They then had to re-install the old one, leaving it in an unsafe condition, where of you slid it open the door would fall out.
They had to reorder a new sliding window, at their cost, to be manufactured resulting in nearly 2 month delay.
When they found they couldn't finish the whole job due to the reorder of the wrong size sliding door, they left the windows they had replaced unfinished. The windows were not weather sound - missing contraband tape, trims, sealant. This continued for weeks in January when it was raining continuously.
Chasing them to come and finish the installed windows was extremely tedious, and two times planned visits to complete the work were canceled as other work took priority over completing our windows.
Quality control was poor:
- there were air gaps in the foam insulation round the windows into the house, which I had to point out.
-They had to leave air gaps between the trims and the wood cladding above the windows, to allow air circulation behind the cladding. Again I had to point out where they had blocked air flow, and they had to re-fit the trims.
I don't expect to have to check the basic quality of a window install from a specialist company.
After refitting the re-ordered sliding doors, they measured a large cladding trim wrong resulting in another 3 week delay.
The team lead on site was a good guy who wanted to do a good job but the company did not provide the equivalent service. No senior manager ever apologized for the poor service, delays, and no compensation was ever proposed.
So good products - Velfac and Solarlux, but I would never use them again.
They were good at chasing for money.

Good product efficient installation

I bought the showhouse on a new development. Westcott put in triple glazing in all the bedrooms...very impressive. The house was 2 years old when it was sold to me and two of the sliding doors needed a small repair. I telephoned Westcott and spoke to the Office Manager, she requested, certain photos and window ID. I supplied. The next day, I was informed the repair would be carried out in the next few days . It was quicker than that! A SUPER easy repair, in fact that afternoon!

Very helpful installers, all round great customer service

A really great team for our windows! They were extremely helpful and guided us through the entire process. The administrative team was very communicative. The installation team was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. There were a few tricky bits during the installation - fortunately all of their installers are trained carpenters, so they know the structure and opening nuances to make sure they fit properly.

When we were deciding what Windows to have the professionalism of the team that looked after us (james) or 2nd to none they were patient they made sure that we had everything correct and they were very competitively priced compared to other Supplies, the gentleman who came and surveyed our property was very helpful. Told us what we needed to get The Builder to do to prepare for the installation, just be aware that the internals must be finished by your Builder it’s something we hadn’t thought of and our Builder wasn’t aware of it either which makes a lot of sense but the fittings do encroach to the second skin of brickwork which has to be left exposed for the fitters to fit the windows which helps give them their U value. Which I assure you a 2nd to none. The team that fitted the windows were excellent most helpful on time and really cared about the look and the finish of what was being done. So very happy we would thoroughly recommend them not only for the quality of the Windows but also for the service that this company has provided us from start to finish.
Everybody we have dealt with has been professional helpful and committed to giving us the best service they can.

Very helpful staff, kept updated on production and delivery date

We commissioned Westcott to replace our house front door. This is not a cheap process, so we decided to search for the exact style, accessories and colour finishes we wanted. The sales team were helpful at every stage of the design process.
Installation time arrived, and we had an outstanding fitting team, who were professional, helpful and courteous, keeping us informed of options and decisions throughout the day.
It's a pity they were not able to do fine finishing, such as adding trims where the door frame meets our interior plasterwork, but overall we were very happy with the fit-up experience and the completed Installation.
Very happy to recommend.

Westcott supplied and fitted all the windows and doors in our self build home.
They were incredibly helpful during the whole project.

Great service all round. Thorough pre planning and advice during the design and quote processs, clearly a lot of experience in the field. Really pleased with the install, fitters were very knowledgable and experienced and a recent warranty issue was dealt with just as professionally. Would definitely use them again.

Adam and Arek were brilliant - they came to fix one job on our new build but spotted several other small issues that we hadn't noticed and fixed them at the same time. They were very professional and left everything tidy - fantastic service.

James did a fantastic demonstration of windows and doors at the Portsmouth showroom. There was nothing he did not seem to know about Velfac and Rationel windows - he explained carefully the differences, listened to what was on our minds - and handled every single question perfectly - there was nothing left for us to find out. We both thought he was absolutely brilliant

Westcott installed my Velfac windows and front door at the end of 2025. The company was very helpful from the point of first contact, advising on technical matters, and timescales. The installers were professional and polite, and meticulous in cleaning up at the end of each day. The new windows look far bigger than the old ones, and let in so much light. I’m glad that Westcott suggested the pine interior finish - they make a 1980s semi look very stylish and Scandi!
