I walked into Wed2B Gateshead with no idea what sort of dress I wanted and I walked out having a much clearer idea, so it was by no means not a successful visit. Ruby was incredible, so patient with me when I started the try ons with absolutely no clue and helped me into every dress in a way that made me feel comfortable and at ease. She was absolutely brilliant and deserves so much credit! The other consultants were also lovely in passing when dealing with their own clients. However, the (I think?) manager who greeted us at the door was very abrupt and negative towards me, setting a really poor tone to the appointment from the off, as well as continuing this abruptness when popping in on the dress try ons and talking to members of staff in quite a negative way in front of us which didn’t sit quite right. If the welcome had been better, I may have been in a better frame of mind when trying on the dresses and might’ve walked away with one. That particular member of staff aside, Ruby was brilliant, the dresses were gorgeous, store itself was immaculate and it’s a brilliant experience.

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely disappointing experience with WED2B
I genuinely regret purchasing my wedding dress from WED2B. What should have been an exciting and memorable experience was instead incredibly stressful and disappointing from start to finish.

Firstly, the face coverings provided for trying on the dresses were visibly dirty, which was extremely unpleasant and completely unacceptable when trying on wedding dresses.

WED2B also doesn’t take appointments, and we ended up waiting around two hours before we were seen. When I finally got the opportunity to try dresses on, none were available in my size. I was simply told to try on whatever size was available because the dress could be altered anyway. What was not explained clearly at the time was that alterations are carried out by a third party and can cost an enormous amount — in my case, I was looking at around £500–£600 for alterations, which is a huge additional expense and potentially as much as the cost of the dress itself. I feel this should have been made clear before purchasing.

Unfortunately, things got even worse.

I purchased a headpiece at the same time and was charged for it, but when I got home I discovered it had not been put in my bag. I returned to the store, expecting this to be resolved fairly simply. Instead, I was referred to the customer care team.

It then took a week to receive a response, and I was told that internal stock checks had been carried out and, because they supposedly showed nothing missing, WED2B refused to provide either a refund or a replacement. I raised the complaint further, hoping someone would actually take ownership of the situation, but I was essentially fobbed off again and told to contact Citizens Advice.

The whole way this situation has been handled has been incredibly disappointing. I paid for an item that I did not receive, yet instead of trying to resolve the issue with me as a customer, WED2B relied on their internal stock checks and effectively left me to deal with the problem myself.

Buying your wedding dress is supposed to be such a special and exciting experience. Sadly, my experience with WED2B has done the complete opposite. From the poor hygiene, extremely long wait, lack of suitable sizing, unexpected alteration costs, and the way my missing paid-for headpiece complaint was handled, I have been left feeling completely let down.

I would not recommend WED2B based on my experience, and I deeply regret buying my wedding dress from them. What should have been an exciting part of preparing for my wedding has instead been a source of stress and disappointment.

Staff at wed2b were extremely welcoming and super helpful. They knew exactly what I was searching for before I even knew myself. Every question I had was answered. Great experience. I had holly at metrocentre branch she was so lovely and found me rhe most perfect stunning dress there was

Amazing team.
I needed to repurchase same dress 2 sizes smaller. They phoned round and found me one. I was sooo happy.
They arranged delivery and when it was arriving later than originally planned. The store held it for 2 weeks until I returned from holiday.

I had the most fantastic experience. Beck's was lovely and really made me feel at ease. She took time to speak to me at the beginning, got a feel for what I was looking for and went on a mission for me. She understood the assignment and found me THE dress on the first try!! I tried on others and she threw in some curveballs, just in case, but it was always going to be that first dress!!

Amazing, friendly and helpful staff. Able to advise on what style suits who and what material for your wedding.
Beautiful dresses and gowns and super comfortable to wear.
Also, you don’t feel rushed when in the shop. The staff like to make sure you’re happy with every small detail.
Highly recommend!!

Visited the store in Gateshead and had the assistance of Lavinia. She helped me try on multiple dresses and gave me a confidence boost in every dress, from someone who doesn’t have any confidence with the way I look to having a tear in my eye for my chosen dress. Would highly recommend this store for anyone trying to find their dream dress. Everything was perfect from start to finish, everyone was so welcoming and even had an input on the dresses I tried on. Absolutely loved finding my dream dress in store today

I had the most amazing experience! Kate was my consultant and she made me feel so special. She was fun, attentive, knows her stuff and really makes you feel at ease. This store is worth a visit, so many dresses to choose from and when i returned 5 weeks later to get a Flower girl dress they recognised me and were just so friendly and welcoming. They really know how to make you have the best day choosing a dress - I wish I could do it again (but hopefully not :) )

I visited the Gateshead store and the lovely Kate supported me with finding my dress.
Kate was amazing, helping me find exactly what I was after and listened carefully to what I liked and didn't like. She completely put me at ease making me feel comfortable throughout the whole process.

From the minute I walked in, I felt at ease! I didn’t have an appointment, but Beth was more than happy to talk us through the layout and let me quietly browse. They then offered me an appt within half an hour to try on dresses I liked. Lauren was FANTASTIC, when it came to trying on. She put me at ease and helped me (I’m VERY indecisive) find my wedding dress.
I couldn’t have had a better experience. All the staff in Gateshead were beyond amazing. I’m a naturally shy person, I was very apprehensive about trying dresses on full-stop and had a poor experience at a different store (not wed2be) that morning, that *almost* put me off completely. Thank you so, so much ladies. It’s very unusual to receive such fantastic and consistent customer service! And thank you for helping me find THE dress!
