Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience. If you felt our process was misleading, then we clearly dropped the ball and need to address your concerns. We pride ourselves on customer service and transparency, it’s why we have a 5-star rating from almost 60,000 genuine customer reviews. We want all our customers to have a positive experience and we’ll be happy to resolve your issues.

No one likes surprises, we don’t either. Hopefully, during the pre-appointment confirmation call, as well as during your appointment, the Branch Manager relayed that we will, like any other reputable buyer, perform a physical appraisal of the vehicle to confirm its condition. We record all calls for quality and training purposes and our leadership team will be happy to pull the recordings to ensure you were treated fairly and everything was communicated properly.

Our online valuation tool is great for getting an idea of what your vehicle is worth, but it’s based off the limited information we receive from our customers and is not a firm offer to purchase your vehicle. We have this listed on our website and in disclaimers when we email you about your valuation. From our detailed records, I see when the vehicle was valued online on 08/31/2024 at 9:20 AM, the vehicle was described as a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee with no reconditioning issues. Our online valuation tool provided a value in line with those details.

Unfortunately, when our Branch Manager was able to inspect the vehicle the vehicle identification number decoded the vehicle as a 2005, one model year older. In addition to the older model year, there was multiple rust spots present on the vehicle’s body, the check engine light was illuminated, and when we hooked up an industry-standard OBDII reader to the vehicle, its onboard diagnostic computer returned a variety of troubling codes. I have pasted these below for full transparency.

P0401- Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected
P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0700 - Transmission Control System Malfunction

Condition plays an important role in a vehicle’s resale value and hopefully this helps shed some light on why we arrived at the price we did for a 20-year-old vehicle with 200,000+ miles, rust and engine issues.

Hopefully our Branch Manager invited you to join us during our inspection process so you can see what we see. We want every customer to understand why we arrived at the price we did and have the opportunity to ask any and all questions. I have escalated your comments to our leadership team and asked the Area Manager to personally reach out to you so we can listen to your feedback and try to restore your trust in We Buy Any Car.
