Thanks you for choosing webuyanycar.com to sell your 2010 Toyota Corolla and for responding to our request to rate the customer service experience at our Lansdale location. We are sorry to hear we failed to deliver on the five-star experience that we are famous for.

A customer's personal situation is not considered when determining the value of a used vehicle. We are very sorry to hear that you feel that way and would love to know why. The value of a vehicle is determined by many factors which include physical and mechanical condition. When you requested a valuation on 4/3/2024 at 2:03 PM, you told us the Corolla was in good mechanical condition and had no damage apart from a cracked front bumper.

Like any professional buyer, we complete a standard appraisal process which includes physical and mechanical checks and a short test drive. We also run OBD2 diagnostics to check for any engine or drivetrain issues reported by the vehicle's diagnostic computer. Finally, we run vehicle history checks with a service like CARFAX or Experian AutoCheck.

During the online valuation, you did not disclose that the check engine light and other warning lights were illuminated. When we ran diagnostic checks, the Toyota reported multiple fault conditions:

P0353 Ignition Coil "C" Primary Control Circuit/Open
P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0301 Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
P0300 Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0303 Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected

You should have been aware of these problems as someone had manually reset the fault codes 10 miles before you came into the branch. Unfortunately the check engine light came back on after only three miles. The vehicle computer keeps a record of any fault code reset. We are happy to provide you with a copy of the diagnostic report confirming these problems with your vehicle.

Our appraisal confirmed a cracked bumper but also found other issues with the car including very low tire tread depth and almost non-functional brakes. Our appraisal notes show the appraiser was afraid when driving the Corolla as the brakes were so badly worn and dangerous.

While we understand that every customer wants the maximum amount possible for their car, we have to take into account serious problems with the vehicle and adjust our valuation accordingly. Despite the problems, I see we were able to make you a fair offer that you were happy to accept which was hundreds more than you state in the review and that you have deposited the check.

We did attempt to reach out to discuss your concerns and to try and find a way to restore your faith in webuyanycar.com but I see that despite our best efforts, you did not wish to speak with us. We are sorry we could not address your concerns and hope that the additional information helps you understand our position as buyer.
