repair and breakfast
I always reported some issues in my room, such as repairing my door and kitchen hood. There was about three times that someone came to repair my door, but until last time I met the repairman and told them what was going on about my door locker. He helped repair the door but now the locker is without the cover until now. My hood light is always broken, and I have reported twice. But still broken. Another thing is about breakfast. Everytime I wanted to eat some fried eggs and nothing in the plate.

Poor quality for cost
Room was in terrible condition when I arrived and moved in, it was filthy and lots of things were broken. Over the course of my stay I had many issues with leaks, broken furniture etc. However, the staff is very friendly and responsive when you ask them for help, and the location is very convenient for access to uni/town/transport links. Besides that, very poor quality for the price.

Not hygienic at all. Poor staff service
you definitely have to improve the levels of hygiene in every building, including rooms and the gym. The floors are always discussing with stains and food pieces as well that are not collected or removed by any member of stuff even when I asked to. when asking for unclogging my shower as well, I was advised that I had to be the one doing that service surface and when I required because I’ve cleaned it and I called someone to unclog it they placed all the dirt that was in my drains in my shower, which I found very not hygienic and unclean.

Don’t go here unless you love having windows that don’t open at all, half of the ‘facilities’ never work the oven is just a microwave good luck cooking anything ever. the staff are pretty nice though. but the room gets so absurdly hot in the summer and spring months unless you have a portable ac or a large fan you will be sweating constantly

Hi there,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re glad to hear that you found our team friendly and welcoming -we’ll certainly pass that on to them.
We’re sorry to hear that you found the room temperature uncomfortable and that some of the facilities did not meet your expectations. While our windows are designed not to open as part of the building’s ventilation and safety requirements at certain locations, we do offer alternative rooms with AC or skylight window options.
Thank you again for your honest feedback. We really appreciate you highlighting both the positives and the areas where you feel we could do better.
Best wishes,
The Vita Student Team
Everything in the accommodation is good…
Everything in the accommodation is good beside the cleaning service that only does the floor they don’t make the beds nor dust the tables it makes it hard because as a student. We don’t hav time to do this every time in the other the resident that I was in the cleaned well and placed everything good but in this one it’s pretty hard to go by as for the staff members they always try to get into your skin not most of them some of them ask personal questions and it’s pretty creepy beside it’s a good accommodation

Bad gym facilities and impolite cleaner
The gym facilities are worse than expected based on the photos - the dip bar has never been fixed after broken for months, and breakfast refills are often slow. You would often come down to find empty milk bottles and empty plates, while the coffee machine has been broken for a month.

Vita Iona Review!
The location is very central, which gives easy access to places such as the New and Old Towns, as well as the UoE campus. The staff are some of the loveliest people I've met, they show a level of care and openness that makes Vita a lovely place to be at, especially when bogged down with coursework and other stuff. The amenities are typically up to date and well maintained, and if there's any issues that occur, the staff is quick to assist and rectify it.

Review
Starting off, the rooms are well equipped, spacious, good designed and the building offers a lot of great activities and nice places to relax. The staff is very nice and helpful and is always there if anything needed. The only things in minus might be:
* The breakfast station: I like what they have now at the breakfast station but I think it can improve a little by offering more fruits and maybe more cooked food (like fritata, omelette etc). For the rest of the breakfast is very good
* The noise: I know that there are a lot of students my age there but sometimes during weekdays the noise from outside in the garden or from people that are fighting (verbally or physically) in their rooms can get tiring and often disrupts my sleep (even though I go to sleep at 24:00-1:00). One incident that occurred was right next to my room when two girls physically fought and started throwing things around, screamed a lot and I felt like the cupboards in my room were about to fall to the ground because I could hear all of my glasses moving around (which, to be honest, really scared me).
Other than this, Vita is really good but it's good to take into consideration these aspects.

Excellent staff
Excellent staff, but outdated rooms for the price we should pay. Compared to dorms in Madrid which are cheaper but more modern…
However about the quality and how clean it is around the dorm: 10/10

I wouldn't recommend Vita to anyone…
I wouldn't recommend Vita to anyone looking for a comfortable living environment.
The balcony window door in my room was broken, and from June until the day I move out, it was never repaired. The management kept saying they couldn't fix it because they were unable to source the hinge. I find that explanation very unconvincing. As a result, I couldn't open the window for several months and had to keep it closed even during hot weather.
A problem that directly affected basic ventilation and living comfort should not take months to resolve. This experience was very disappointing.

the accommodation and the facilities…
the accommodation and the facilities provided are amazing, as well as the location of the buildings in leeds. the only downside is the fact that the staff access the room quite more than what is normally acceptable in my opinion, giving the renter more control over the room and limiting the staff from entering the rooms whenever they want and expect us to let them in every time would be nice.

Overall
Overall, I had a decent experience staying here. The staff and maintenance team were always friendly, responsive, and helpful whenever I needed assistance, which I really appreciated.
However, the facilities are starting to feel quite old and could definitely use some upgrading, especially considering the amount we pay for accommodation. One of the biggest frustrations is the key/card access system—the doors often take several seconds to unlock, which becomes annoying when you’re carrying groceries or in a hurry.
The service is good, but for the price, I expected more modern facilities and a smoother overall experience. With some renovations and improvements to the access system, this accommodation would be much better.
