El precio era bueno al final cogimos el seguro gold por tener todo más cubierto y evitar posibles estafas al entregar el coche. Nuestra sorpresa fue que del depósito de 150€ nos cobran 25€ por limpieza por unas migas de pan que hay en el asiento nada fuera de un uso normal alegando que hay que entregarlo limpio, limpio que es que lo aspire antes de entregarlo? Unos sinverguenzas

I rented a an automatic car from Viaggiare from Venice Airport, when I went to collect it it was like it had been in a war zone, the car had small holes all around the from as it had been shot by guns, it was dirty and discoloured.
When I went back to Viaggiare desk and asked for a replacement, I was told there was none. So reluctantly I drove the car two hours away to my destination, it was rattling, shaking smelled and all inside it was dirty. I complained but they refused to refund me even a portion of the money, I did send all the pictures prior to take the car but Viaggiare wasn't interested. I should have not taken the car but I could not afford to rent from someone else. It's really a bad bad company to deal with. I will never ever rent from them again and I am writing this review to pre warn anyone that may be thinking of using this company. Stick to the well known brands my motto is from now on.

If you are 59 minutes after you say you’ll be there they cancel you’re booking and you have to pay on the day cost so we booked a car for £80 which was cancelled and the new one the day cost was over £300. This is a complete scam. Obviously people at the airport might be a bit late, for context we were 20 mins late due to passport control queues. Really rude staff and we had a pregnant passenger in heatwave and they gave us a car that wasn’t worth £300 new! Do not use!!

Everything about renting from Viaggiare was unnecessarily stressful.

Our flight was scheduled to land at 20:45 so we booked the car for 21:30. The flight was delayed and we weren't able to leave the plane until 22:15. Fortunately the rental desk was open until 23:00 and the booking email stated "Service outside of business hours is available by request and for an additional charge."

While waiting to leave the plane, we called the rental company to let them know that there was a chance that we wouldn't reach the desk before 23:00. The man who answered the phone could not have been more unhelpful if he had tried. Not only would he not arrange a later pick up, he insisted that if we weren't there by 22:30, we would not be allowed to pick up the car and would not receive a refund.

My partner sprinted through the airport, left the luggage behind, and reached the rental desk at 22:31. As he saw her running towards the desk, the man's first words to her were "Hurry up".

Despite the pick up being advertised as "in terminal", it was actually a 10 minute walk to the car which was parked in the furthest possible car park, almost 1km away from the terminal. When we got there, the car had not been cleaned and was very dirty. If I had found any damage, I would have been unable to report it because it took so long to reach the car that the rental desk had since closed.

When returning the car, we were told to park it in the same car park. The car park was completely full. Every space was occupied and cars were parked all the way along the access roads as well. We then had to make the 10 minute walk through the unshaded car parks in 38 degree heat.

You’ll lose your car if you have any particular delay (1hr+) to your flight. Then they’ll try and flog you a car for over a grand when you’ve just lost hundreds on the last one. AVOID.

If I could give this company a zero , I would. Horrific rental experience at Verona last summer. My husband and I arrived with our two young children all excited to collect car hire at the Viaggiare Rental desk and firstly we waited in a queue with all the other holiday makers. Eventually a young lady appeared from behind the counter and then what amazed us was that all the families and couples that were there were all refused car hire saying that they booked incorrectly and when it came to our turn, the lady at the desk said we were booked on the wrong date. After much arguement, she later said ok, she was wrong, then refused our credit card sating it had not enough validity on it. I think only one group were successful with their booking. We went accross the hall to another car hire company and they could not have been more helpful , so I would advise everyone to not book with Viaggiare rental as they never even gave us our booking deposit back. Horrible start to a holiday

I dont recommend. I felt cheated. The clerk issued longer period than i asked, I did not check all details and they did not want to return the money. I explained them it was not car returned earlier -we would not order for longer becuase next day we had a flight back, but still they did not want to return money for days not used. Not fair at all. And they were angry that I asked for proper settlement

Credo per esperienza che ha subito mio figljo, alla consegna del veicolo per un graffio inferiore a cm 5, si possa trattenere 700 euro, mi sembra una somma eccessiva. Un furto.

I booked a car several months in advance for a long weekend in the Province of Venice. Upon arriving at the Viaggiare Rent check-in desk, I was informed by the customer service representative (possibly the owner) that I would not be permitted to collect the vehicle because I did not have a physical credit card. I had my card available digitally on my phone and sufficient cash to cover any charges; the deposit required was only €150.

I explained that I had rented vehicles in this manner previously without any issues, and that I had exchanged emails regarding my reservation in which no mention was made of the requirement for a physical credit card. If this condition is so essential, it should be clearly highlighted in the same way as the driving licence requirement.

In response, the representative spent several minutes attempting to locate the relevant clause in the contract, stating that he had written it himself. This did nothing to resolve the situation and ultimately left me stranded at the airport at nearly 11:00 pm without a vehicle.

As a result, I was forced to pay €350 to hire a car from another rental company, which was my only available option at that time.

This experience was extremely frustrating and unacceptable.

Trenta minuti e più di attesa per il ritiro delle chiavi del veicolo, altri 10 minuti per raggiungere l'autovettura (con cambio automatico al posto del richiesto manuale). Al parcheggio P6 per la consegna dell'auto non c'era nessuno, tranne un fiat ducato o similare con il portello laterale aperto con la scritta "viaggiare rent" al cui interno c'era tanto disordine da fare paura, sembrava fosse scoppiata una bomba all'interno. Ho aspettato diversi minuti affinchè arrivasse qualcuno che mi consegnasse l'auto e mi spiegasse come utilizzare il cambio automatico, ho sempre avuto auto con cambio manuale, alla fine per disperazione ho cercato l'auto da solo tra quelle presenti nel piazzale P6 individuandola attraverso la targa, e dopo altri dieci minuti di attesa, ho telefonato a mio figlio, che mi ha dato tutte le spiegazioni del caso sull'utilizzo del cambio automatico, solo dopo ho messo in moto e sono partito in sicurezza, nel frattempo avevo perso più di un'ora. L'auto dentro era pulita ma fuori assolutamente no.
Alla riconsegna dell'auto dopo 6 giorni, prevista per le 17.00, ho parcheggiato il veicolo al parcheggio P6, come da indicazioni, naturalmente furgone chiuso e nessuno in vista, quindi mi sono recato al primo piano, per la riconsegna delle chiavi, risultato...sportello chiuso con la scritta in inglese torno subito e un numero di telefono, aspetto 5 minuti, chiamo il numero, mi risponde un ragazzo, alla fine ho messo le chiavi dell'auto in una cassette delle lettere della saracinesca del punto viaggiare rent. Non penso mi rivedrete ancora.

ho noleggiato una macchina presso questa agenzia all'aeroporto di Venezia lo scorso weekend , la macchina aveva già parecchi danni alla carrozzeria, non pulita e in cattivo stato; ingenuamente ho controllato in modo veloce il contratto , alla consegna hanno guardato i danni e ancora ingenuamente ho detto che mancava anche un pezzo di plastica all'interno , purtroppo non era stato segnalato , mi dicono non si preoccupi e ieri ho ricevuto una fattura e un addebito di 100 EURO per questo pezzo di plastica che in internet ne costa 25 EURO e per un danno che non ho causato.

Don't dare to be held up at passport control. No refund, no option to get the car. I feel scammed.
They clearly could have done something. On occasions you have to queue longer than an hour.

Edit: as stated in the review, the one hour policy is ridiculous, considering the rental is on an airport where your customers have no control over their arrival time.

We were charged a significant amount on our credit card without justification after renting a vehicle from Viaggiare Rent, and based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company.

We rented a van from Viaggiare Rent at Venice Airport. The vehicle was handed over to us in an extremely dirty condition, both inside and outside. Due to the poor cleanliness, it was practically impossible to properly verify the vehicle’s condition at the time of pickup.

When returning the vehicle, we explicitly offered the on-site representative of Viaggiare Rent the opportunity to inspect the car immediately. This was declined, and we were instructed to simply return the keys, with the explanation that the vehicle would be inspected later. No inspection was carried out in our presence, and no issues or damages were mentioned at the time of return.

Despite this, Viaggiare Rent later charged us for alleged damages that we did not cause and could not have caused. The most serious alleged damage concerned the windshield. We did not observe any damage to the windshield during the rental or at the time of return, yet we were later informed that the damage was supposedly so severe that the entire windshield would need to be replaced. This was the largest single charge.

In addition, the mileage reported after the rental does not match reality. We calculated our actual route afterward and drove at most approximately 400 km, yet the company claims that we drove 909 km. This does not correspond to our actual driving and raises serious concerns about the accuracy of the company’s post-rental documentation and the reliability of the damage claims.

We submitted a formal complaint and a detailed response to Viaggiare Rent. The company’s reply was disappointing: instead of addressing the substance of our complaint, it relied solely on general contractual clauses. Viaggiare Rent failed to address the return procedure, the poor cleanliness of the vehicle at pickup, the alleged damages which we did not cause (including the windshield), or the incorrect mileage recorded after the rental.

The matter is now being taken forward through official channels.

Update (dated 30 January 2026):

The company has replied to this review with a generic message asking us to contact customer service. However, we would like to clarify that we have already contacted the company and submitted a written complaint regarding this matter.

Despite this, the company has not responded to the complaint or to our subsequent messages, nor has it addressed the questions or issues we raised. At this point, the company is not responding to our communications at all, and there is no indication that they are genuinely willing to investigate or resolve the matter.

The generic reply posted on Trustpilot therefore does not reflect the actual situation, in which the issue has already been formally brought to the company’s attention without receiving a substantive response.

For this reason, the matter is now being pursued through official channels.

Update (dated 6 February 2026):

The company took a full five days to respond to our previous message sent to them, yet still failed to address the substance of our complaint. Their response did not deal with the issues we raised, but instead once again relied solely on general Terms and Conditions.

In this case, the Terms and Conditions are being used to justify a credit card charge regardless of how the vehicle return and inspection were actually handled. Our actual questions remain unanswered.

Unfortunately, this reinforces the impression that the company is either unwilling or unable to handle the matter on a case-by-case basis, and instead refers to contractual clauses in a routine manner while the reported discrepancies are left entirely unaddressed.

La macchina veramente basica; la pulizia non veniva fatta da un po'. Tuttavia... il prezzo pagato è stato molto basso e quindi... bisogna considerare tutto!
Nel complesso, noleggerei ancora con Viaggiare Rent a Venezia aeroporto

Abbiamo dovuto prendere una macchina all'ultimo momento e la disponibilità è stata molto rassicurante.

Thanks to Simone, was the person that gave the keys to us at the airport desk. In general terms when I travel ,the part I hate the most is dealing with the stuff of the rental companies, but in that case was a lovely experience. Simone was very nice, explaining everything calmly . Definitely I would recommend your company ,at least at Marco Polo airport. Just wish all the stuff is friendly like him in the other airports. I will keep u updated 😊
