Dishonest, Unprofessional, and Unsafe – Avoid at All Costs

I had the worst moving experience of my life with Ver Van Lines. They were subcontracted for my move with safe ship, and what happened was beyond unprofessional.

They extorted me for $200 via Zelle for a fake “75 feet truck” fee, even though the truck was less than 20 feet from my door.

They delivered other people’s belongings to my apartment and left behind 8–9 moving blankets, while at the same time losing critical parts of my own furniture.

They did not stage or reassemble any furniture as was promised.

My $1,500 couch is missing legs and cushions and is completely unusable. My $300 bed frame is missing screws, appears to be broken and cannot be assembled. My $600 dresser was ripped apart on the back with a drawer completely ripped out. My $300 mirror was shattered. I am missing boxes including all of my books which is priceless collection I’ve had for years. My lamp damaged as well.

They were rude and careless, treating my belongings roughly and damaging my apartment walls.

They have horrible customer service. I was yelled at on the phone by them when THEY had the wrong date for my moving day.

The most disturbing part: one mover showed up alone at my apartment at 10:20pm asking to be let inside. As a woman living alone, this was frightening and unsafe.

When I contacted Ver Van Lines about these issues, they flat-out refused to compensate me or take any responsibility.

This company is dishonest, sloppy, and dangerous. They should not be trusted with your belongings — or your safety.

Update (9/2): they only offered me a $600 refund when I have about $8000 in damages. They do not care about what happened and basically told me “accidents happen”

Update (9/30)
2 weeks ago ver van lines finally offered offered to compensate me $2,000 along with what the claims company offered, and said someone would come out to fix damage done to property/broken furniture. Although this is nowhere near the cost of the damage done, I felt it was fair and did not want to go back and forth anymore.

Since we came to that agreement, I have not heard from them the past 2 weeks. They have made no effort to schedule a time and I’m afraid they may have ghosted me.

Update (10/09):
I have called safe ship and emailed them multiple times. They have recently (and rightfully) stopped working with Ver Vanlines. I have not received any compensation or someone to come fix the damages. Safe ship can’t seem to get in contact with them. I am going to have to begin to take formal steps To address this situation.

Also reading their other reviews, it looks like they are having friends or family post 5 star reviews to increase their rating. Please do not believe these reviews. If you use them to move I can promise you will be disappointed.

Recently moved from South Florida to Eastern Pennsylvania. Ver Vanlines made my move seamless and stress free. Their team was professional and treated my items with the utmost care. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a long distance move.
