Our driver/tour guide, Jason, was amazing. The knowledge and information he passed on to us was wonderfully interesting. He shared history, folklore, and culture, and added a touch of humor, which was most welcoming and relaxing. His driving was impeccable and He constantly watched out for us.

Plan a Trip to Remember
Vagabond was the first organized tour that we have been on.This was a splendid experience and, without hesitation, we will recommend this Driftwood Seven Day Castles and Kingdoms bus tour!
Our guide, Ciera, made our time in the magical countryside of the Republic of Ireland so special with her knowledge, stories and love of her country.
The accommodations were carefully selected to give us the best memories and everywhere we stopped we enjoyed good food and wonderful company. We met lovely people on board this tour of 16.

Enjoy Ireland without the stress of having to drive!
I have always wanted to travel to Ireland, but between my personal intimidation of driving there, paired with feeling overwhelmed about planning the trip, I felt stuck as to how to move forward. After doing some looking around online, I finally came across Vagabond & Driftwood Tours of Ireland and realized they were the answer to my concerns! Since they take care of all of the driving while on tour, I was free to take in my surroundings of the gorgeous scenery, without having to worry about driving or getting lost. The experience was made even better by having the most wonderful and caring tour guides as well! The guides are locals and are incredibly knowledgeable and genuine people, who are enthusiastic about sharing their culture, history, and beautiful country with visitors. I'm already daydreaming about my next trip with Vagabond - I hope to make it happen in the near future!

A terrific tour!
I had never participated in a "guided" tour before but wanted to avoid the driving...and leave most of the 'where to go' decision making to others.
I could not be more pleased. Our guide, Brendan, was terrific - and we enjoyed every day and every minute!
Looking forward to a future trip, perhaps to the North!

Ireland is a beautiful place full of historic interest and good food. Paddy was a knowledgable, good-humoured, patient and helpful guide. There were a few small glitches: our group could have been better introduced to each other (with a name list and introductory dinner) and one accomodation very stingy with the heat. We would certainly recommend Vagabond.

Seeing your beautiful country with the perfect guide
Seeing your beautiful country with a guide who was knowledgeable,caring and had a good sense of humor. Andrew got to know each of us on a personal level. I had a knee replacement and Andrew helped me when I needed help without my asking. Andrew was the perfect guide and I feel lucky that he was our guide.

I think that the 5 major hikes that we took were great. Our trip leader was excellent in knowledge of the areas and his ability to relate to all 12 trip members. In this case I think that the cohesiveness of our 12 member group is what really made this trip great.

A well organized, average tour
Likes: clear communication, easy registration and payment process. Clean van. Nice accommodations. Reasonable time spent riding in the van.
Dislikes: 1) Van interior was small for the 13 of us. Glad we didn't have a full group. 2) Why hand out a wonderful Vagabond map of Ireland at the END of the trip? 3) Guide should advise the group before lunch if there's a group dinner that evening with no other options. Might eat a lighter lunch or order more and skip the dinner. 4) The guide should establish courtesy guidelines at the beginning of the trip, such as listening, or at least not talking, when the guide has something to say. 5) Trip was not as active as I was led to believe from the literature and the Facebook group comments. 6) The alternative hotel because Dingle was unavailable was disappointing, even with the discount. The transportation alternatives were not very well thought out ahead of time and were confusing to the group which required MULTIPLE repeats of the options. Wandering around Dingle all day without a hotel to return to wasn't enjoyable. 7) Please keep political comments out of the tour. 8) Friendly and efficient guide but not a lot of color/reference/tidbits to share that would have definitely kicked up the tour experience significantly.

Thank you for your review. We value all feedback and take everything into consideration when planning for future tours and guide training. It's good to read that you found the tour well organised, our communications clear and the payment process easy to navigate. The alternative hotel offered to your tour departure in Dingle was an unfortunate late change and is not a normal occurrence. We informed all guests of the change well in advance of the tour and, as you note, provided a partial refund, a free meal and free transportation to and from the hotel. We're sorry if this didn't make up for the inconvenience caused. It's surprising to hear that you only received your map at the end of your tour; this is normally handed out on Day 1. Group dynamics are not always easy to control. The nature of touring means that a diverse group of strangers comes together in a confined space for a short period of time. Usually, in our experience, this results in fun and new friendships. However, of course, that's not always possible. Group management is a core part of guide training and we will pass your comments onto our head trainer. Likewise, we do our very best to advise all of our confirmed guests about the physical requirements on tour. Minimum abilities are highlighted across our website and in pre-departure communications. However, we can only advise and, once the tour has started, our guides are trained to cater for each guest's needs. Our vehicles are designed to accommodate up to 15 guests and their luggage in comfort. Their compact size allows our itineraries to explore off the beaten track destinations that larger buses cannot reach; perhaps a larger vehicle and group would be the best option for future vacations. However, we appreciate your business, your honest feedback and we thank you for choosing Vagabond & Driftwood for your Ireland trip on this occasion.
Vagabond Delivered Well rounded Adventure
Vagabond delivered a full scale introduction to Ireland including an educational trip of culture, lore, sight seeing, history and hiking some of the countryside trails. Accommodations were very comfortable. We loved that we were supporting small local businesses along the way. The guide provided an informative journey and we always arrived safely to our destinations. He took care to be cognizant of individual needs and still allowed the group to travel on.

2nd tour as good as the first!
This was our 2nd time touring with Vagabond Tours. We were on Driftwood tours in 2018 with Damien. Top notch. This time we were on the Northern Ireland Tour with Vaugh. He was wonderful. He was well versed, organized, but flexible in the iternary when necessary. Was accomadating to the needs of all of us. The pre-trip was very well done, sending us information about Dublin and other aspects of the trip to help us prepare for it. When I had a question on concern, I got a response and help in less than 24 hours. Totally enjoyable experience.

Ireland will change your life forever…
Our first trip to Ireland started September 13. Flew into Dublin for 3 extra days pre tour, and stayed at the Grand Canal Hotel! If you can, stay here! It was just wonderful!
We did the 7 day Treasure Ireland tour with Brian Feno. One month later I still dream about this trip….
This is where we left our hearts…in Ireland ….
14 people on our van, and we all became friends who laughed ( at Brian and his sayings!) , cried as we sang Caledonia, and fell silent as we put our hands on the standing stones and felt a mystical presence surrounding us..
Brian sang to us and we were jaw dropping in awe as we never knew he sang! He took us to out of the way places and gave us loads of time to explore…absolutely no rushing us…
The accommodations were AMAZING ! We figured they’d be good… we were in smaller places, not big hotels. The places we stayed were something you’d only dream about!
There were times while traveling in the van that Brian would play music from his playlist and we’d turn our heads and look at each other with tears streaming down our faces….
This Driftwood tour was so life changing that you must go….you must…

I have never been on an organized tour before but Vagabond has definitely sent the bar high!! From planning the trip until it was over the staff was very helpful and responded to questions or concerns promptly! The experience with vagabond tours was great from beginning to end.
When deciding on what tour company to use I called and emailed them several times and they were always quick to respond. Once we were in Ireland our tour guide, Dave was helpful, entertaining and most importantly knowledgeable.
