Vagabond tours provided the perfect tour for us! From our first inquiry til the end of our 7-day Driftwood Treasure Island tour, the team was always responsive and helpful; the group size and our group mates couldn’t have been better; the guides, itinerary, pace, and accommodations were all fantastic…what more could you ask for?

Our driver and guide, Sarah was phenomenal. She was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing about the history, the culture, the people, the language and the customs of Ireland. Sarah was very accommodating if we wanted to add something. Sarah was also the best driver ever. We enjoyed all the stops and everything we experienced. We felt lucky that the two of us could explore and go off by ourselves sometimes. Talking to natives was so fun and we were not always shopping like others in our group.

It was a bit tiring sometimes but we realized we were often on a schedule. It was good to have the two nights in Dingle. In our group there was a group traveling together on our tour. I felt one lady especially monopolized Sarah. She had been to Ireland 12 times but sat up front the whole time and had a private conversation with Sarah much of the time. We realized there is some risk of not knowing what the fellow passengers would be like. I think the guide needs to insist the person even who says they get car sick (and I do too) at least traded seats going at least one row back.

All in all it was a terrific trip and the accommodations were top notch.

This is the 2nd Driftwood tour, plus a Vagabond tour that we have taken. All 3 were so much fun. We visited a variety of locations, both urban and rural. I cannot think of any way to improve the tours. Our guide in Oct. was Shane. What a delightful, and excellent tour host he his!!

We really enjoyed our fellow travelers and our guide/driver, Angela. 11 days in a van with 14 total strangers was a blast! We joked, had fun and genuinely had a great time. We rotated our seats every day so no one had a good or bad seat. We were comfortable with our group; some had mobility issues and everyone helped. I definitely would do this type of trip again. Thanks, Vagabond!

Our guide was very knowledgeable, thorough, responsive to everyone's needs, and had a great sense of humor. He was a great driver and gave clear instructions, keep things moving, yet was flexible when more time was needed. He was always willing to take the time to answer everyone's questions. I could not have been more pleased with how the tour operated.

Small group, great guide, great hotels & sights, beautiful Irish countryside

Vagabond is well organized and cares about its customers. Danny, our tour guide had a great sense of humor, was knowledge and was a good driver. He really earned these 5 stars. Some stops needed more time. It was called 'Castles & Kingdoms' tour. I guess I expected to stay in at least one real castle overnight. That was the main thing I wanted to do. We stayed at a nice manor house that's on the site of what used to be a castle. That was disappointing. Again Danny earned the 5 stars for taking care of our group very well. The company is great. The itinerary was lacking a little.

Our tour was outstanding in every way! We had a fantastic tour director, Sarah. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and lots of fun. She made sure our group of 15 mixed, got to know each other and enjoiyed each other's company. She made and had many recommendations on great places to eat, drink and shop. It took only a day or so for our group to get to know each and begin to interact. 6 of the folks knew each other prior, 4 were former neighbors so they made it possible for all of us to break the barrier by being friendly and inclusive!

The tour was exciting and eventful with even a coupe of unexpected twists and stops that made castle jumping, cliff seeing (dispite the rain and winds on a specific day) fun. Best of all we got to enjoy border collies, sheepherding and Guiness at various pubs along the way. The Irish music and dancing were memorable.

Our only sad experience was our fault. We were so busy with our small business leading up to the tour that we didn"t realize that a stop at the Guiness Brewery and "The Kells" at Trinity College needed reservation to enjoy especially on a Sunday.

What an incredible trip! First of all, Hugh was an unbelievable guide. He was not only knowledgeable, but knew when to talk and when to just let us enjoy the sights. And despite his bad jokes (only my husband has worse), we loved every minute of the trip lol.

What a wonderful introduction to Ireland.
Our tour guide Andrew was very accommodating and engaging. Our tour group was exceptional and even the Irish weather was beautiful. Fall was a lovely time to visit- we never experienced crowds or delays. Highly recommend this tour

The tour size was great. Our guide (Shane) went above and beyond to see that all had a great time and took care that those who had physical difficulties got special attention. He brought a lot of the Irish culture and history to us in ways that we wouldn’t have seen if we were on a big bus tour.

I left on Oct. 7th for Ireland and landed on Oct 8th at 5AM Ireland time. The cab driver dropped me off at the hotel at 6AM. By 8AM we were gathered to start the tour. I don't recommend doing this as I couldn't sleep on the plane so it ended up being 40 hours before my head hit the pillow to finally sleep! However, the 11-Day Discover Ireland Vagabond tour was great! Paddy was our driver/guide. He was knowledgeable about all things Ireland. He skillfully drove a 16 passenger van over twisting, winding, narrow roads and still was able to talk and tell us stories. Good at navigating narrow roads through towns and parallel parking in the smallest of spots too. We went to many off-beaten places that the big tour buses couldn't go to. My favorite place was Kilkee Cliffs. It was a sunny beautiful day and we were the only ones there. No crowds, no fences--nothing but the cliffs and the sea to enjoy! We visited the usual tourist's spots as well, saw many ruins, castles, and mansions. Took the Black Cab tour in Belfast which was very informative. Spent time at the Giant's Causeway, Cliffs of Mohler, Derry city wall, etc. Enjoyed a horse carriage ride, a sheep herding demonstration, and got to bottle feed a lamb and hold a baby goat. Also, along the way got to pet some horses and feed some sheep that were standing along the roadside. We were shown how glass is cut and made into beautiful crystal and took a boat ride were we got to see some common seals which, we were told, were not so common anymore. A falcon demonstration was offered at one of the hotels. Shopping and enjoying some craic topped off the trip! All of our accommodations were at least 3-star and the rooms were very comfortable. I highly recommend this tour group!

When planning my Ireland vacation, I decided to go with a tour as I was traveling solo and wanted the safety of a group. I choose Vagabond because they were a small group and a small business that specialized in Irish tours. The service team was timely in sending responses to questions and they sent emails to help prepare for the trip. The tour guide was very personable, funny, and knowledgeable. Because of the small group size, we got to know one another and weren't treated as another body on a bus. I appreciated how the places we went to were also small businesses. Would definitely travel with them again.

The tour was great. Loved the tour guide and the places we traveled to. Unfortunately, there was severe mold in the last hotel we stayed at. I am allergic to mold and I have asthma. I was very sick on the last day of the trip. Fortunately, there was a doctor on the tour who was able to help me. It was a very disappointing ending to an otherwise great trip.
