U-Save operates a car rental office serving San Diego Airport (SAN) from its location at 2263 Pacific Highway, San Diego, California 92101. The desk serves travelers flying into SAN and the surrounding area. To collect your car, board the Car Rental Center Bus at SAN, which takes you to the Rental Center. Exit the bus and head left toward the bus exit, where a clearly marked offsite waiting area is located. From there, call the branch and a shuttle marked with the U-Save logo will pick you up and take you to the office. This pick-up service operates only during limited hours, and there is no direct shuttle from the airport terminal to the office. Desk opening hours (local time): every day 08:00–20:00, including public holidays.

Wish it could be zero stars. AWFUL. Be ready to get a quote hundreds of dollars more than you're original quote. They make up their own rules regarding insurance. They don't tell you about $500 deposit. They don't tell you you need to take 2 shuttles to get their from the airport. Oh and they won't let you use your credit card on Apple pay even though they have the technology to do so. Then when you decide not to rent a car you get stranded and need to find an Uber and start the process all over again somewhere else. Ruined my vacation. How do you quote someone $200 and then try to make them pay a GRAND at pick-up?? Unbelievable.

I have to say this is the worst car…
I have to say this is the worst car rental firm I have ever used in 50 years of travelling. DO NOT rent from this company!! ESPECIALLY if you are Canadian. Their prices seem economical until you show up and then they force you to buy insurance at double the cost you were quoted for the whole rental week. Canadians CANNOT use your own coverage through your own insurance or credit card coverage. This information is not stated anywhere on their website so you are sucked in to prepaying your rental online and then basically extorted for the insurance costs when you arrive at the rental Center. They also want to charge an extra $25.00 a day if you want to add a 2nd driver to the agreement. We had to return the car for another vehicle after a couple of days due to a heavy smell of marijuana. One of the desk staff went into the vehicle to smell and basically came back and said we were lying as she couldn’t smell anything. We explained that when we get back in the vehicle after it sits in the sun for a few hours it reeks of marijuana and she got in just after 2 hours of us driving with the a/c on and that’s why she couldn’t smell anything at the moment. Very rude and unprofessional. When I returned the car yesterday I found they had charged me for the 2nd driver even though we said “forget about it” at the time we asked for that (when we were exchanging vehicles) as after the second driver filled out all the forms is when the desk person told us “oh by the way, there’s an additional $25.00 a day charge for a second driver” we were no longer interested in paying anything more.
