House was excellent but only method of contacting the owner directly was a phone number. Would be far more helpful if an email address was provided. Most other holiday hone sites allow contact with the owner via their website.

Really well organised and fine attention to detail in all aspects of the holiday booking and pre holiday information (great communications)!

We found the perfect holiday rental for our stay on Skye via Unique Cottages - a lovely house and garden with amazing views, comfortable, stylish and very well equipped.

Simply the most stunning and beautiful villa we have ever stayed in. To say the view is picturesque doesn’t do it justice. The villa itself is modern, bright, (ceiling to floor windows along its length,) and fully equipped with top of the range gadgets, including underfloor heating and a rain shower.
I didn’t want to leave, and I can’t wait to go back. Skye is a wonderful destination and this has to be the best 2 person accommodation on the entire island.

Good all round service with very helpful staff at Unique Cottages. Their policy on bookings related to COVID restrictions gave us confidence in booking during a very uncertain period, hence the 5 stars.

This was the second time we’ve used Unique Cottages and we will certainly use them again . The website is very user friendly which is always a bonus . I felt that I could book with confidence , especially in light of the pandemic . Marinaside was a perfect choice for us . Perfectly situated and equipped, we could even saw Dolphins from the balcony which made our holiday .

Absolutely fabulous place to stay! Location in the middle of the woods brilliant and exactly what we needed. The cottage itself has everything you need and more! Everything is packed in to a small space; however makes you realise how little space you need for an idyllic lifestyle.

Lovely cottage with stunning views. Very well equipped and set up. Area is gorgeous with some lovely things to do and see. Very clean and tidy, we will be back to visit this stunning area.

Excellent customer service from Unique Cottages and the cottage was perfect for us. Housekeeping deposit was returned promptly. Whole experience first class. Would recommend.

We really enjoyed our holiday at this spacious yet cosy farmhouse. The location is great for exploring the countryside around Inveraray and Oban and the views are just as spectacular as they look on the website. The cottage was well equipped, and while there were some signs of wear and tear, the place was very clean and extremely comfortable so didn’t affect our enjoyment of the accommodation at all. The host and the caretaker couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful. A lovely relaxing home from home.

Great choice of properties, efficient booking, good communications. Nothing went wrong but what went right I couldn't fault!

The cottage itself, Rossarden in Luss, was beautiful, and the location was simply amazing. 5 Acres of grounds, surrounded by Lock Lomond on three sides. I could have sat on the terrace and stared out at the water for the whole holiday. Inside was well furnished and equipped and everything was of a very high standard. As the servicing was done by a local hotel its was of hotel quality and very efficient if there were any problems.

Only minor quibble was the late check in (6pm) and early check out (9am). Even considering Covid they were extreme compared to any other property we've stayed in.

The Owl House has every amenity you could wish for, packaged up in a tranquil setting with open views for miles.
The detail and care put into creating this haven by the owners, add up to making it a relaxing, luxurious stay. Can’t wait to return in the winter & use the log burning stove!

We greatly enjoyed our stay in the Borders’. There is so much to see and do.
The cottage was really clean and well looked after.
We also inadvertently left an important bag behind. We greatly appreciated the effort made by the company to let us know quickly and were very relieved to be able to get it back.

We were very pleased once again with the cottage. Still well equipped and very clean!

We had a wonderful stay at Carnish Cabins in Uig. All the arrangements pre, during and post visit worked perfectly, including being texted with an earlier entry time on the day of arrival which was much appreciated. The Host, Richard, was excellent with just the right level of ‘checking in’ with us and always happy to give advice if we needed it. The accommodation and its contents were perfect and location idyllic. The most relaxing holiday we have had. Thanks to Unique and Richard for making the whole experience so perfect for us.

One star is being generous!
In May 2021 we booked a holiday for NY and paid £630 as our deposit. Over the weekend our circumstances have changed meaning we can no longer go on this holiday so I contacted Unique Cottages to cancel my booking and I'm so shocked and disappointed to learn that even though our booking is over 19 weeks away that they will keep our deposit. I appreciate that I should have taken great care in reading their t&c's but when I booked I had asked about cancellation and was under the impression that I could book with confidence, in hindsight the error that I made was that our conversation focused on covid/impact of lockdown not allowing a holiday etc. I have been given the option of trying to claim via my own travel insurance, paying an extra £40 and changing the dates and also paying an extra £100 for the holiday as prices will increase next year or trying to privately sell our holiday. I don't understand why when over 19 weeks notice is being given why there isn't the option for a refund of the deposit if they are able to secure an alternative booking for the property for our dates or for them to contact the property owner to see if they would be willing to offer a refund. I also don't understand why you would have had to pay an additional £35 insurance at the time of booking to have been given the option of getting a full refund, seems very sly! We holiday on average 4 times a year and have never encountered any issue when it comes to amending/cancelling bookings. Most sites that we use offer a full refund right up until the week before and in some case 48 hours before so I cannot fathom why this company operate such an unfriendly, unhelpful, mean booking system. I will never book with them again and would urge anyone thinking of booking to look elsewhere. I am now potentially £630 out of pocket for what?
