I received a text from (307) 200-7177 asking about a vehicle I had listed for sale on Craig's List. This person was very interested, said he had no problem with the asking price, and even set up a time to meet, and asked me to send him the TIP Paper. I asked what that was, and he sent me a link to trueinspects.com. I did not click on link but looked it up and saw the prices for different levels of report. If I had been able to get multiple reports, I may have ordered this as I was selling 2 vehicles. But since it was expensive for just the basic vehicle info, I responded with the VIN number and said he was welcome to pull the report, or I would do a carfax and provide that. “Richard” texted back, very insistent that I get the report and he would reimburse me for the cost. He said “all the other sites are fake” then continued texting and saying he is waiting for the report to finalize arrangements.

I had suspected a scam, so I looked up the phone number and it was listed as a google number belonging to a Sal in Chicago. I ignored his continued text and blocked him, but also realize that he can look up info about my number just like I did with his.

Beware, this is a scam!

Listed my car on Craig list buyer asked for a Trueinspects report. Got it quickly and sold my car urgently. and i must say reliable service.

I received an inquiry regarding a Craigslist ad selling my vehicle. I was advised nothing could go further if they didn’t receive a true inspects report, which costs $60-240 depending the tier you chose. After much conversation explaining all service records are provided, including a recent inspection from the dealership the vehicle was purchased from. This “person” would not back down. Stated there was no problem paying the full asking price but needed the inspection report before funds could be arranged. I still refused. Then I was insulted saying I need to get help which is laughable. Fast forward to this morning, received two more inquiries asking for the same report. Simply stated I would not text and needed a phone call to rule out scammers and AI. I was then met with them stating they had a busy work schedule and couldn’t call until very late.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A SCAM! DO NOT NEGOTIATE THROUGH TEXT MESSAGES WHEN TRYING TO FACILITATE A SALE.

I was using craigslist to sell an old automobile. The potential buyer insisted that I used true specs to get a report on the car. I was reluctant to do so, but kept receiving texts that they needed that before they could start the process. I made the mistake and purchased the report and forwarded it to the buyer. The report was worthless. Had no pertinent information about my vehicle. The potential buyer was very happy and that’s when I realized it was a scam. After multiple tries to get my $80 back, I had no success.

I was approached by a post I put on Craigslist.com too. They did the same thing asking for the TIR report. And when I asked what it was they were all to eager to send me the link and website. And when I didn't do it immediately, the individual kept texting me to get them the report. My opinion is this is a scam.. I also got a text from another so called potential buyer at the same time as this one asking for the ZQP report, which sent up many red flags since this is also the same scam, asking for the report and then being very eager to send me the link and website info. Seller beware...

I think this website is a scam. I received messages from a post I put on Craigslist, telling me to send them the "TIR" or "True inspect". The way they asked me, seems phony.
