Planning the holiday of a lifetime from a different continent in a different time zone is no easy feat when you are considering what options you have with young children and when you’re spending an awful lot of money.

You want to get it right.

Please do not pass Treehugger Travel!
I made one phone call to John and for the rest we conversed by email. He couldn’t have made it any easier. I was sent an App to download onto my phone that contained every trip book, ticket to go with it, directions on how to get there, every campsite we were staying in and contact numbers for anyone and everything concerned, just in case we got stuck.
It was John who made our holiday the trip of a lifetime, and for that we can’t thank him enough.

Trip to Airlie Beach, Queensland

John from Tree Hugger Travel planned our adventure. We gave him the basics and he scheduled our entire trip with everything going to plan from start to finish. Would certainly recommend John as he dealt with all our issues efficiently and without drama. We had a wonderful time. Many thanks Finn & Ken

Amazing tour company!

John was simply amazing in helping us book wildlife viewing tours in the Daintree and Tablelands. He was extremely responsive and found excursions that met our objectives.

We were surprised by the amount of additional information that he provided in the final document about self driving tours, recommended restaurants etc. This definitely exceeded our expectations. I unconditionally recommend John.

Amazing

Tree Hugger Travel was extremely helpful when we wanted to book some tours. They helped us choose unique tours tailored to our time frame and budget. John was very knowlageble and answered all of our question about each experience. Booking through Tree hugger travel really took the stress out of organising and booking tours so we could just enjoy ourselves. It was a very friendly service and we got a great price too. I'd highly recommend using Tree hugger travel and I will be sure to book with them for all future trips.

Booked all my trips through them!

John and Tina who run Tree Hugger Travel have helped me with multiple trips around Cairns and I booked all of them with them. For example I went to Green Island where I swam with a seaturtle and went on a scenic flight over the great barrier reef.
They are very friendly and help you with all your questions and take their time for you. I highly recommend booking any trips with them!

Had the best experience with tree…

Had the best experience with tree hugger travel. Booking was easy, John gave us many options and sound advice on all the trips we booked.

Dear Dylan,
Due to Trust Pilot being a platform where people can post freely I have to reply in detail about your experience,
It makes me very sad that myself, the person who constantly made sure you were ok became the brunt of your anger when you perforated your ear drum while scuba diving and could not continue your dives.
I organised your experience down to the last detail so you could relax and not stress as you were struggling to leave your girlfriend in Melbourne to continue your travels in Far North Queensland. I listened to your personal life problems for over a month via WhatsApp and telephone calls and even gave you some life coaching just because I am a nice guy.

On day 1 of your trip we even spoke and I reassured you of everything when you called me.

Day 2 of your trip I sent you a WhatsApp message in the afternoon double checking your dive course was going as planned. Your reply was "I am having some problems with the diving but I am ok". My reply was relax and simply enjoy the experience. At no point did you mention you had damaged your ears.

You spent several days on board as you started volunteering on the liveaboard and as far as I was concerned you were having a great time as I had not heard from you.

When you did call me approximately 10 days later in a rage I was totally shocked and taken a-back. As you said you did not complete your dive course as you had damaged your ears but had spent in the vicinity of 10 days on the dive liveaboard.
Your anger was the dive school not being able to continue the completion of your dive course. This is totally normal as the cost involved in a liveaboard is the board, the fuel, the cabins and the fact you spent 10 days when you only paid for 3. You also can not dive for usually 6 weeks after damaging your ears.

I attempted to find some solution and even arranged a meeting with the operations manager of the dive school where you sat down and discussed the whole situation.

He reported to me that you had realised how this works and was satisfied with your chat.

Only the dive school can offer refunds once you have completed the trip. We list travel insurance on all confirmations to cover all outcomes such as illness. Your travel insurance should have covered this no problem as you visited the doctor.

To wrap up. This review is unfair and false.
