Rate not that great
I liked the convenience of using it as it was accepted most places apart from one of the supermarkets I went to.
I was disappointed that the rate given of 79c was not that great as if I used my own debit card it was 83c. Being a BNZ customer I thought there was a better rate but I think what I got was what any non BNZ customers would have. I was also told there were no fees for withdrawal from an ATM and I was charged $7.50. Overall I don’t think I saved anything by using this card and perhaps would have been better off with my debit card with the rate difference.

Terrible experience I am still trying…
Terrible experience I am still trying to close my card, several hours spent waiting on phones. Apparently I have to call back again !! Because I have pending payments (I do not!!) worse card help experience, cant hear person on phone and cant do via email why not?!

I like how easy it is to top up from credit card, but fees are high and currency exchange rates are very low. I would use wise if they didnt have a withdrawal limit

Easy to book exchange
Easy to book exchange , but takes a long time at the airport to pick up.. Usually only one person on the counter, then you have to wait ages

The teller in the new plymouth Branch has been extreamly helpful I have been into the branch 3 times in the last fortnight and he has been most helpful, explaining how a travelex card works, and letting me know when he would have some of the currency I required for our trip

What a hopeless system. Forget going to paper plus, the staff have no idea what they are doing. Stick with an official travelex outlet.

Very poor experience
Very poor experience. Their promotional material and in‑branch staff claim “no ATM fees”, but this is simply not true. I was charged despite their assurances, and the gap between what they advertise and what actually happens feels extremely deceptive. This kind of misleading information erodes trust, and I would not recommend them based on my experience. When we escalated this after paying around $40 in these charges we were told it’s in their terms and conditions (in very small print) which we received after the original transaction. So I guess it’s ok to claim false information, if you hide in the t’s & c’s. Please be careful when signing up for the money-cards.
