I've been using Tradesmen Online since September, and I paid £385 hoping to generate leads for my business. I set up my profile page to a good standard, but unfortunately, I haven’t received a single phone call or lead from them. When I raised this concern, they gave me an extra three months of subscription for free, but still nothing changed. Honestly, it feels like I might as well have flushed that £385 down the drain. I'm still stuck in the contract, and I just want to warn other tradesmen: don’t waste your money on this service. They promise a lot but deliver nothing. No leads, no follow-ups, just a loss of £385. Look elsewhere for your marketing needs.

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS ! We run a property maintenance business in London, we have not had a single job come from this, (we always ask where new customers have found us) this cost us around £600 for 6 months. The initial call was very scripted, we have been on checkatrade and myjobquote (much better platforms). In the 6 months we have called up numerous times to then be told we will get a call back, which more often than not we didn't receive a call. We have just had a call and they have had the cheek to ask if I would like to sign up for another 6 months after purely ignoring my request for a refund. The company is am absolute joke, stay well clear of them.

Was skeptics to start with as I have tried these services before.
After speaking with the guy, they did seem like it was different to others. As others have mentioned started slow but deffo picked up. Will be renewing in next 2 months

Red flags!

Spoke to them regarding signing up as a an engineer.

Very scripted conversation (almost sounded AI but don't think it was) and very pushy towards the end, trying to get me to sign up on the spot.

Requested an email or contact number so that I could look into it further before signing, but was told this was not possible as they needed an engineer in the area straight away (odd, as it had taken me a week to respond to their initial phone call and they called me straight back, so can't have been that urgent) and by the time I'd gotten back to them someone else would be in place.

Very strange call, can't say for certain that it's a scam but nothing about it sounded genuine to me, and the wording / aggressive tone on previous reviews on here sound off.

Got phonecall promising more phonecalls, sold the idea of them wanting me to renew as thats how they make their money, been 6 weeks now and not one single phonecall, when i rang and asked them they told me i need to ask customers where they got my number, which i always do anyways, but every bit of work ive done since that phonecall has come from facebook or pre existing customers. £510 down with no return, when they asked me how many phonecalls id like to receive i said a low amount and they said something along the lines of ‘aw we’ll be 100% confident you will renew if thats the sort of return you’d be happy with.

I was contacted by someone from tradesmen who was talking me into being part of tradesmen and that i would be so busy that i may even leave my day job. I was also made to do a couple of things like searching up in the directory and checking out a few companies who have been on for a long time, one example of the asbestos man who had joined in 2019 and is still going strong. The next morning when i did my own research, it shows that hes joined in aughost 2025 with 5 only 5 feedbacks?? Now im reading the reviews, im so glad that i didnt sign up which i was so close to doing. Was i nearly scammed??

Just renewed after 6 months on board, got a decent amount of calls especially for the cost I paid. More then happy with the service would definitely recommend

Fantastic service at a fair price that has generated me a decent return on my investment.

We had an unexpected culvert blockage under our land. We didn’t know until we were told by the local council that it was our responsibility to unblock it otherwise we could be forced to have it repaired. So we set out to find a company that could do this sort of work. We had three quotes from different companies. We didn’t go for the cheapest we went for the company that we thought specialised in this sort of drainage work. That company was Abosolute Drainage, they gave me an estimate that I thought were reasonable and they started the job very quickly. It wasn’t a straight forward job, they had to find the blockage and then make sure it wouldn’t happen again. These lads worked above and beyond their remit. Apart from being excellent workers they were very polite and really nice guys. You would be very lucky to get this trio. Steven the lead digger operator, Billy the tanker operator and of course Sean who does everything else couldn’t find a better team. A very satisfied customer. John and Kathy.

We have used tradesmen online for over 3 years now. The service has generated our business some fantastic projects since using the platform.

They called me telling me they had work in my area they thought my company would be interested in (no specifics) whilst speaking with them realised very quickly they were trying to hard sell me with all the tricks "got 2 other company's interested, we need a decision today, we always see a return, we have jobs lined up and so on) I told them to send an email with the details which they tried talking me out of twice before sending me a very sparse email and then called me the say after with all the same as above and then even after I said no or made excuses they continued trying to push and called me numerous times.

As a trademans I advise all others to stay away, they still havnt filled the so called highly sought after position they were trying to pressure me into and based on the other reviews and my own research they may not legally be a scam but thats just because in the contract it says they don't guarantee anything(which they wouldn't send first, wanted payment upfront with no documentation-find setails elsewhere)

And if you're looking for a tradesman, go elsewhere, don't show your support to these crook websites that take our hard earned cash, they don't care about the quality of work you receive, just how much we as trades will pay them to say we're "good"

Absolute waste of money ,was sold the dream! I have had zero calls since joining! Well with this company anyway. Certainly wont be renewing. Apparently I'm the only plumber in the area listed with them so clearly they don't market you very well. there happy to take your money but fail on there marketing. Avoid at all costs and waste your money on Checkatrade. At least you get interactions with them!!!

Joined 3 months ago, already paid for itself and a few times over. I will definitely be renewing at the end of the 6 months.
