Rejected a refund
I see people saying they wont get their refund for months. but I'm flat out getting denied. They aren't even reading requests, if it says refund anywhere in the subject or body it triggers an auto reply rejection and closes the ticket. even though their covid update statement says they will honor refunds but it will take time to return the money.

Event cancelled (fair enough) but auto-enrolled into an event I can’t attend. Can I get through to change? Can I heck. I don’t even want a refund, just to change to the 2021 event, but you don’t get ANY response from them. It’s appalling.

Bought 2 tickets for Singapore TM in June 2020, due to Covid was postponed to November which I completely understand is not their fault. However in September i receive an email that they are pushing it further ( with no date in mind) and I email them asking for a refund, as I dont know whether or not I will be able to attend next year.
Got an email from them that they dont provide refunds under ANY circumstances. SERIOUSLY? the circumstance here is that you took my money and didnt give anything in return!
I have never experienced such a scam and I will report them to every organisation in charge of consumer protection.
It seemed like a fun event and I feel for them for having to cancel, but you cant just pocket the money from everyone that is called a theft.

Avoid these criminals. Offered a refund but said it would take 6 months. Then send an email saying there's a 100 quid cancellation fee that equals the 100 quid I paid. Absolute scammers. Done 6 tough mudder previously, never again!
Events wise TM put on some good live…
Events wise TM put on some good live events. However, for the Toughest Mudder events TM are getting a reputation of over promising and under delivering. At Europes Toughest Mudder, the night pit stops didnt deliver half the things as were advertised. This year's Virtual Toughest Mudder is resulting in items not being delivered on time. And using US customs as an excuse. Where it's common sense to send things between 2 to 3 weeks prior not 4 days. Complacency and missing there own deadlines has resulted in me feeling that Tough Mudder doesn't deserve any more of my money. So I have one event in 2021 and thats it! I'll be looking at doing other OCR events. It's a shame, as I can't tolerate giving money to company that doesn't look after people that are keeping them in business.

I would rate less if I could! A horrific company taken over by an even worse company. Every other business during COVID has offered refunds and done all they can. Tough mudder? Keep your money for at least 6 months because ‘they need to get their financials back in place’. What about us when we paid an expensive £79 as it is?! -1 out of 10 never again will I do a tough mudder event

Initial email received 23rd June 2020 stating the September 2020 event is cancelled due to Covid (which i understand). The email THEY sent out gives an option for a refund (copy of email text below). Contacted them on 24th June 2020 to request a refund. 29th June I received a response that they are not giving refunds.
The entry fee for ToughMudder will give myself and others extra money for food for a week, fuel in the car and pay bills. I honestly do not understand how they can keep our money.
My next concern is that ToughMudder may not even exist next year, then no one will see that money again. I am pretty sure it is not correct to refuse refunds and make money off the back of Covid - the travel industry springs to mind at this moment in time.
Even their website states they offer refunds.
Should ToughMudder ever go ahead, i would never attend due to this appalling service.

Awful customer service! After being cancelled and postponed twice they've now said a refund will take 6 months!!! I've done 3 tough mudder events before but never again!

Tough mudder changed the West London event. Fair enough in the current climate. I was auto enrolled onto one taking place in September that I can't make. Asked to cancel. They offered me a refund of the price I paid -£85 less the cancellation fee. The cancellation fee by chance happens to also be £85. To me this is corrupt and dishonest. Appauling way to run a business and embarrassing and distasteful way to treat honest hard-working clients who just wanted to raise some money for charity.they should feel ashamed. Needless to say I will never ever even consider taking part in anything to do with them ever again.

Absolutely fantastic company that I'm sad to have seen go through one of the worst years in it's history. They put on an excellent race that never fails to disappoint and can't say I've ever had an issue dealing with customer services or any member of the team and their volunteer staff
A lot of the 1 star reviews seem to be hurt about refunds for races that have been cancelled or postponed due to Covid-19 and the public safety, which I get, loosing money sucks. That being said, TM nearly went out of business at the start of the year. It was picked up by Spartan and is now a new entity so things get a bit complicated there. People are always going to rage about lost money, but these are unprecedented times and companies are trying their best to find amicable solutions that will mean that their customers remain happy, and that they stay afloat.
I can't wait for all this virus malarkey to be over and get back in the mud at a TM and I'll always support this company because of the memories and friends I've gained through their events. That's worth more to me than a race entry.

A fantastic company that doesnt deserve its name to be dragged through the mud (pardon the pun). 1 star reviews are because people are bitter about losing money over covid. Welcome to the real world, where not everything can go your way. It is horrible, but it has affected everyone. Perhaps focus your efforts on doing good, rather than attempting to bring down a company, who will be struggling too.

One star as not able to allocate none
Same issue as the rest on here, booked Tough Mudder for June 2020 and due to Covid 19 been cancelled, I have no issues with this at all, they are not able to confirm any new dates or venues so we asked for a refund, after a lot of emails it was agreed that a refund would be processed and it would take 4\6 weeks, waited and no refund, after chasing this was told that no refund would be paid as our money had been paid to tough mudder and not them so we could have a voucher for another event or donate our fee to charity!
Would love to do tough mudder but would not book anything else through this company.
Good business gone bad
Good business gone bad, having started with TM in 2013 and done several events with costs into the hundreds I was already set for my next mud run in 2020. Yes the company has no control over the events of 2020 and the global pandemic but it does have control over its values and customer loyalties. Once again profits over people and this is now reflected in their trust pilot reviews.
TM was taken over in January by Spartan and although they were more than happy to take customers money in ticket sales they seem to have found a legal loop hole to not assume responsibility for the terms and conditions that these tickets were purchased under.
What makes this all the worse is the fact that the company actually confirmed they would refund the ticket and this would be in my bank account in 4/6 weeks only to be informed 4 weeks later that this was a lie and they are refusing a refund, but I could always donate it to an undisclosed charity (scam and such poor relations now that I wouldn't even trust them to give the donation to charity). Avoid!!!!

I have done the East Midlands Tough Mudder for the past 3 years and had booked to do the 2020 event too. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid 19 issue the event was understandably cancelled and rescheduled for another date. However, I'm not able to do make the event and again due to my circumstances around the Coronavirus I could do with the money back. After jumping through hoops I eventually got an email confirming that I would receive my refund in 5-6 weeks, not ideal but ok. Then a few weeks later I received another email saying they would not pay out on the refund as the money was paid to the company that they had bought out! Surely they took over the liabilities as well as the name and logo etc. After continuing to pursue this they are now no longer responding to my emails.
Tough Mudder was meant to have community values "This is not a race, it's a team event! help your fellow mudders out". Obviously this doesn't count when it comes to the money.
I feel that I have basically been robbed by tough mudder and the customer service has been appalling. I will not be letting this go and will continue to pursue my complaint.
Please, please don't give these crooks your hard earned money.
