Brilliant service! Ordered back in June, received my items within 2 weeks. Carpenter could only come this week to fit the products, realised the door stops were missing, phoned Monday morning and received them Tuesday morning! Excellent customer service, amazing quality products!

The oak window boards that I ordered were very high quality and had an excellent grain. There was in issue with part of my order due to an issue with the courier. I e-mailed them and received a prompt reply and they chased the courier to resolve the situation and kept me updated in the process. Excellent product and customer service.

I ordered a 1 metre length of walnut dowel which arrived the next day. There was a small imperfection which I would normally be ok with but as it would be visible on my project, I contacted G&S. They dispatched a replacement the same day and it arrived the next! No extra cost and no need to return the original which I can probably put to use at some time. I couldn't be happier with the level of service. Thanks!

I've enjoyed a good service from this company until I had to speak to someone and it quickly became the worst service I've ever experienced. I emailed 30 minutes after my order asking to add an extra Dowel. This was missed by the team but rather than taking reasonability I was told I need to either wait until my next order, pay a large delivery charge (delivery would have been free if added to the order) or cancel the order. Obviously none of these are suitable as they all push the reasonability for their mistake onto me. I asked for the Dowel to be sent with free shipping but Shaun (owner) kept sending the same 3 choices. I began to wonder whether I was actually communicating with a computer program. When I decline these he cancelled the order and told me to shop elsewhere. I then rang Shaun who was extremely rude because I wouldn't accept any of these unaccepted options and actually hung up. Hopefully you don't need to contact them but if you do, good luck!

In reply to G and S, the email came in 30 minutes after the order but the order was processed 24 hours later (1st lie). The three option are true but were, pay £10 for shipping (should be free), wait for some future date or bugger of. Not great options!. No threats were made from my point (2nd lie), Shaun threaten to cancel my order but i don't consider this be a "threat" like the context of the reply. There were 2 phone calls and that was only because Shaun shouted at me and hung up. I then rang back which I consider to be 1 call (3rd lie). I have since received a letter from their lawyer which i guess is the reason why they have so few negative feedback. I don't scare easily.

Obtained machinery in the past and found to be reliable. Ordered a part which proved not compatible with my tooling and i returned. Full credit within the day received at G & S. Large selection of timber and tooling.

Absolutely amazing service. I expect to be using G&S again and recommending them very highly.

Excellent quality walnut, oak and ash dowels, including 60mm wide. Good service. Have used a few times, would use again!

Ordered some cedar oil on Monday - delivered Tuesday morning. Very happy with their service - would recommend/ use again.

I purchased an item and it was delivered on time and for a good price (Outside the UK). I found their staff to be very helpful. They were knowledable about the products. One slight issue was not everything I wanted was in stock (no stock indicator on the website) They suggested an alternative product that they did have in stock (Abrasive pads so not the end of the world anyway).

I would recommend them and use them again. Very helpful

Fast efficient service value for money

Items delivered as ordered within expected timescales. Only downside was that I was a bit surprised to be asked to rate the service before receiving the goods! But I'd happily use you again.

I am learning to carve and I ordered various sized lime blanks Tuesday p.m. they arrived Wednesday late morning, securely packed and of high quality.

First impressions do count and I recommend this supplier without reservation.

I recently bought several blanks for woodturning from G&S. They arrived promptly and were safely packed. The blanks were well prepared and the wood was dry so that it didn't change shape significantly after I'd turned it. There were no splits or worm holes.

I have ordered from them before and shall again as I know that what they send will be right. It's just a shame that they don't have a wider choice of timber yet (nudge, nudge!) but what they do have is worth getting. Having bought from two other suppliers and had troubles with worm holes, splits and damp wood, I know I'm safe with G&S. Thanks, guys!

I ordered a piece of dowel which arrived after breakfast the next morning.
The wood is of first class quality and I am well pleased.

I placed the order on the 3rd. The web site was easy to navigate and logical. My order was dispatched on the 5th, and I received a well wrapped parcel on the 6th.
I can't comment on post-delivery customer service as I had no problems.
The only reason I didn't give 5* was that my mobile number was printed on the parcel. I can understand why, but I don't like it.

Having never ordered anything like this online (oak dowels) i wasn't sure what to expect.
The order completion was friction free and the goods arrived well packed and undamaged on the stated day.
If they treat a small order like this then I will certainly consider using G&S Specialist Timber again.
