I ported my son’s phone number from Ting Mobile to Mint Mobile in July 2024. This should have automatically terminated service with Ting Mobile.
Despite this, Ting Mobile continued charging my credit card monthly for service that was no longer active.
I repeatedly contacted Ting Mobile and provided proof of the port-out. On November 25, 2024, I was told I would receive a refund for all charges after the port-out date. Instead, on December 15, 2024, Ting Mobile charged my credit card $50.08 rather than issuing a refund.
Ting Mobile continued to charge my account monthly after this, despite multiple follow-up emails and disputes. I no longer have access to the account because login requires the phone number that was ported out.
Additionally, billing statements show a $10 plan fee but totals as high as $60-70with no clear itemization or explanation.
The total amount charged after service termination is approximately $307.28.
I am requesting a full refund of all charges after July 2024 and an investigation into unauthorized and deceptive billing practices.
Frustrating
I was a long-term customer on a pay-as-you-go plan. I wanted to switch to unlimited but needed a new sim card. It never arrived. I leapt upon a competitor's year-long offer.
Once the offer ended, I hoped to try again with Ting. They quickly sent the new sim card, but the activation process does not work if I have to use their sim card while initiating: I receive no text messages, thus no Dual-Factor Authentication.
So, first I called. After a litany of questions, I was told I needed a port number from my current provider. Once obtained, I recontacted Ting. An even slower customer service process presented itself. After more than an hour waiting and conversing, I was asked what plan I wanted. I replied, "Unlimited 25". The response was, "That plan is no longer available", to which I replied, "It's on your website." The answer was that the web team was working on it and they were sorry.
I felt it was some sort of perverse game.
Strongly recommend Ting Mobile as alternative to traditional carriers

Triple Prices & risking lives
We are a small business that provides wireless systems for emergency elevator phones. We have used TING mobile as our provider for many years. They provided voice at a low cost of about $5 per line. We were very happy with our business contact there. As of July, they got rid of my business representative, and they seemed to merge with another company. In October they changed their website and it started to show higher rates for my lines, I called several times to confirm that I wanted the old rate- they repeatedly stated my account was "grandfathered in" and any new lines would be activated at the old rate. The website repeatedly showed a $14,000 balance when I pay about $5,000. Again I called, they claimed it was just them working on the new system that the charges would remain the same...and they did, my credit card charges were for the correct amount even though the $14,000 continued to show online. On Nov 18 I call in response to an email stating our $14,000 charge was declined by card and account would be suspended. I was told they would investigate the account charges, it would take 24-48 hrs., and she would note the account to avoid suspension until settled.
I wake up on Nov 19 to all of my phones being disconnected. Elevator alarms all over Miami are ringing and people are getting trapped in elevators with no elevator phone to call help with.
I spoke to an agent who was unhelpful, refused to put a supervisor on the line and told me that the account holder, me, had made changes to account and there were no other plans available.
I held for 20 minutes until I got a supervisor, Claries (no other info could be provided, legally!!!), who reiterated the same thing, that I made the changes and they couldn't review the account until i paid what i owed. I said I would pay $5,000 not the $14,000.... She claimed she would un-suspend service for 24 hrs. until she talked to her manager, again refused to give any contact for said manager.
Been a Ting member for almost 10 years…
Been a Ting member for almost 10 years and finally had to leave because they refuse to support eSIMS. Even though their website makes it seem like eSIMS are perfectly fine when you go to upgrade. What a terrible business decision. Are they trying to go out of business?

I had two phone numbers under Ting but when I upgraded my GS21 to Pixel 10 Pro XL, I found out that Ting doesn't support eSims. (!?) Minus one star. Also, when I finally discontinued my late mother's Ting account, I can no longer log-in to view charging/payment history. The MFA won't work if I can't receive a text message. Minus another star.
I moved to US Mobile for eSim support.
Ting cancelled my account and deleted…
Ting cancelled my account and deleted my phone number without notification. When I called them they said I cancelled the account. I told them I did not cancel the account. the rep said I tried to port the number to another carrier and the account cancelled. I said I did not try to port the number to another carrier. They kept on changing the story this was my fault. They refused to help me. Ting cannot be trusted.
Not the Old Ting (which I loved)
After being a longtime customer since the early days, I've been sad to experience the loss of everything that originally made Ting special. I remember calling customer service and talking to the same person over multiple calls. The customer service was truly extraordinary. Then there was the very simple and honest pricing structure. If I had a dollar for every time I sang Ting's praises to friends and family, I'd be rich. So when Ting's parent company Tucows was acquired by the Dish Network, I knew it was only a matter of time before everything that had made this little phone company great would be compromised by the corporate mentality of profit over everything. First, the personalized customer service was outsourced overseas. Next, the pricing structure - once simple - became more complex and new charges began appearing on my billing. I have spent the past few years worried about data overages and charges that eclipse the payment structure that is supposed to be transparent. In essence, the DN and its corporate overlords have ruined Ting. I just closed multiple Ting accounts that I had opened over 10 years ago.
12 year Ting Customer = Terrible Divorce
I've been a Ting customer for almost 12 years now, back when I switched from the overpriced contracts with Sprint to something that was affordable and exactly what I needed. Over the 12 years I've had fairly good experience, good customer service, decent rates, and some affordable options when it comes to purchasing a phone through Ting. However, after finding a better plan with a different service provider, and requesting the information to Port my phone numbers out of Ting, it has been one nightmare after another.
Ting canceled my service, then when I called them out on it and tried to get it reinstated, they told me I needed to pay a $90 reactivation fee. Even though I never requested the cancellation in the first place. This was a frustrating experience, as I could never get any good customer service beyond what was probably an AI basic prompt chat. They told me I was the one who requested the cancellation and that they were very sorry but they would not refund me the reactivation fee. This was absolutely not the case and very frustrating to hear.
In addition, when I tried to Port over my numbers, Ting locked one of the phones and I've spent almost a week trying to get it unlocked through Ting so it can be usable. This is a week without a phone to which I've got no response from Ting except "we've sent this to our back office and they'll work on it when they can". The chat is useless, the email help ticket is nearly as useless, as I keep having to explain why I'm requesting to unlock the phone that they locked. They don't look at chat history, they don't look at ticket descriptions, and at this point I'm about to throw in the towel and get a new number to avoid dealing with Ting anymore.
This is a very unfortunate end to what was initially a great experience with a cheap service provider. My advice? Stay away. Their service has gone downhill, their price plans are outrageous compared to other service providers and overall not worth the stress.
Saved voicemails erased and no help to recover them
Used Ting Internet chat to ask for help with saved messages from my voicemail being erased. After I typed my name and described the problem, the agent ended the chat with no explanation. Then I got a transcript of the chat via email. Very annoying.
Literal thieves
Order their service but they don't service my area. Honest mistake. I called to cancel. They billed me anyway, I thought I perhaps just commit to more than the initial payment and move on. Then they billed me AGAIN and I called and canceled AGAIN. Then they billed me AGAIN. And I called and canceled again. This is the FOURTH time they have done this and I just banned them from charging my bank account.
These pieces of trash outright STOLE MY MONEY from me.

Ting use to be great pay for what you use & excellent customer service. After being a customer for 12 years I decided to change carriers for my personal phone & port my number.
My intention was to port my number and then create a new number for business purposes with Ting still. Not anymore, the porting process has been a nightmare & the customer service is awful. They give canned responses & refuses to escalate me to someone else. At rate I'm going to lose my phone number I've had for years because they refuse to help.
Save yourself a headache if you're considering using Ting, they've lost everything that made them stand out from other low budget operations like Cricket or Boost Mobile.
No answers
I recently went overseas and told TING I was going and that I wouldn't be using anything but wifi to communicate. When I got home, you can imagine my surprised when I was charged over $100 for mobile data, which I had turned off. When I called I asked what had happened and if I somehow turned data back on why couldn't I download my texts with wifi. They could provide no explanation and once, even hung up on me. I ported my number out to Mint (and couldn't find a way to stop my account otherwise) and again was surprised to be charged for a full month's service despite my leaving their coverage half way through the month. No satisfaction at all from the Customer Service.
Absolutely horrible company
Absolutely horrible company! Their website has Boost Mobile phone number on it and not any phone number that is their actual customer service. My partner is literally saying "this is the biggest nightmare" trying to even figure out how to contact them to change service to a new phone.

Ive been a Ting customer since they started. And now something happened with them becoming part of Boost mobile. I am on the phone with a snarky tech support guy, Ell, and he is the worst. I just got a new phone and a new sim card and they cannot figure out why my internet doesnt work. Something in the Access Points. But I wouldnt recommend them at this point.
Service cut abruptly without notification
Pros: we’ve been with them for over 10 years. The cellphone plan has been a good price for us.
Cons: they cut our service off without an email or any notice only three days after payment did not go through. They do not send reminders when the card on autopay is going to expire. They do not send a bill prior to withdrawing the amount owed.
