Difficulty in cancelling subscription
I have put so much time & effort into trying to cancel my trial subscription & I'm still not there. Don't take out a trial subscription unless you are sure you want the subscription to run on.

The magazine itself, The Week Junior, is fantastic for our daughter.
However, as others have said, the cancellation process is awful and customer service non-existent.
We took them up on their offer of 12 issues for £12. Having complained about the cancellation process (and had no reply) we haven’t received the final issue.
Also, be vigilant. They tried to take an extra payment which I noticed on my banking app and cancelled.
In conclusion, magazine - great, just be prepared re cancelling and don’t expect any help from CS.
Trying to cancel subscription to Week Junior is a nightmare! They do NOT make the process easy. Be VERY careful when deciding to subscribe.
I have just spent nearly 3 weeks trying to be given the correct information to access my digital subscription. I was given the totally wrong subscription number several times. The response time to my queries was extremely slow and patronising.
Brilliant, balanced product! I love how I can see what the guardian thinks about an issue, and then also read what the week has in it. Very useful
I have been a customer for many years; both print and digital versions. I took an offer of a one-year subscription of my current plan for £140.40 in May 2025.
I have had access to both the printed (when it arrives - which is usually Wednesdays) and the digital version every week … until last week.
Suddenly my digital access stopped and they have said I do not have access.
It takes 2 days to receive a email reply. I am abroad for 2 months so relying on the digital version but now no longer have access.
It feels very frustrating and I sense a lack of any customer care.
Good magazine, but really terrible delivery. I've had loads of missed deliveries and no refund, just a promise to add the issues on to the end of my subscription should I cancel - I did then cancel, and didn't receive them.
Really bad customer service. Avoid.
I am a long time subscriber and have always enjoyed the content which tends to be balanced. For a l-o-n-g time I could not access my digita subscription. Customer Service was useless (unable to access them or no reply to emails). Then after a protracted period I could finally log in to access it. Today I received a letter indicating that subscription rates are going up substantially and I am unsure about renewing/revising my subscription. By doing so I will be contributing to the death of unbiased news. I feel bad but the customer service is so rubbish I feel why bother, just give into AI and get it over with....i.e. no longer be sure where to get unbiased political reports...
Terrible administration processes. Renewing every year is a nightmare, it never works first time and there is no indication of what went wrong. Despite being a digital subscriber, they only send paper renewal notices by post ( at least 5 separate ones) and despite repeated requests seem unable to send an email renewal notice, so I often find when I’m abroad that my subscription stops as it has run out and I’m not home to get the letters
I just received yet another offer for The Week. Apparently, I'm on their "Free List" - which, even if permanent, wouldn't be worth the price.
Curious to see if they might have changed their goal of becoming the print version of Fox News, I was hardly surprised when the Letter From the Editor blamed the current economic mess we're in on... Biden.
According to the numbskull who has clearly never opened an economics text, the reason we're racing through a recession on the way to a global depression isn't because the demented demagogue in the White House has declared a trade war against the entire world (except Russia, of course)...
It's because of Keynesian economics.
That Biden had the temerity to redirect tax dollars from the pork Republicans want to spend on bailouts and battleships (we don't need) and use those funds to fix our crumbling infrastructure and create high-paying jobs through the CHIPS act.
The paper this rag is printed on would have considerably greater value if they would turn it into toilet paper; particularly since its price is about to skyrocket, along with everything else that relies on imports.
In the latest issue a small article appears that Israel stopped supply of aid to Gaza. No mention of Hamas as a terrorist organisation, no mention of the hostages still kept dead and alive by Hamas and peaceful Palestinians. Will not purchase again.
The “Weak” has great content but HORRENDOUS customer service!!!! A simple change of address for a magazine mailed weekly does not get processed for nearly one entire month - that's four lost issues that I paid for and didn't receive. And the customer service representatives are awful, out sourced overseas, and a supervisor was "unavailable" to assist me. I wasted 14 minutes on hold, only to be told "I'm sorry, there's nothing more I can do.”
Despite having bought The Week for 25 years (and with a subscription fully paid up) they randomly switched off my digital access yesterday. I’ve emailed, called them, sent in contact forms, signed in and out of the App, followed weblinks and wasted hours - with no access - and nothing has been resolved. Now they don’t even answer emails. It’s been a great product for so long, but don’t waste £182 on an annual subscription, you’ll get zero customer support
This Week Junior publishes historically inaccurate content about Israel. I was contemplating getting a subscription for my child but after reading two articles this magazine published about the conflict, I won’t be purchasing a subscription. I think it’s terrible to put inaccuracies in the minds of children and this magazine apparently wants to mold children’s minds to fit a certain narrative they want them to have. I don’t recommend this magazine if you want your children to know truthful historical facts.
The magazine content is great but for the last year or so there has been a consistent problem. Whatever process is being used to insert the magazine into the envelope and seal it is flawed. This means extracting the magazine without causing damage is virtually impossible. So, great magazine if you don't mind reading it with a portion of the front or back page damaged.
