Expired products
One of the products I received was
past its expiration date, and another was about a month and a half expired!!
This is unacceptable. I’d advise others to avoid ordering from this company.

We would like to clarify firstly that the products you received were not expired.
The Mountain Joe’s products in question carried best-before dates (BBE), not expiry or use-by dates. The UK Food Standards Agency makes an important distinction between these: a use-by date relates to food safety, whereas a best-before date relates to quality. Food can still be safe to consume after its best-before date, although its quality may gradually decline.
The specific best-before dates for the products you purchased were clearly disclosed on the relevant product pages before purchase and were also shown on your order documentation. These were discounted lines sold with their BBE dates made clear so that customers could make an informed decision before ordering.
When you contacted us, we nevertheless offered you the option of returning the products for a refund if you did not wish to keep them.
We completely understand that some customers may personally prefer not to purchase products beyond their best-before date. However, there is an important distinction between that and being supplied with “expired products”, particularly when the relevant best-before dates were clearly disclosed to you before the order was placed.
