The Vision Express optician referred me to Stoneygate Eye Hospital for laser surgery of a cloudy IOL bag.
The surgery was quick, painless and very quick with outstanding clarity restored within a few minutes.

I recently had cataract surgery (on both eyes) at the Stoneygate Eye Hospital. From initial consultation through to final discharge every member of staff I encountered was courteous, friendly, informative and professional. The surgery itself was quick and completely painless. Overall as positive an experience as can be expected from surgery.

Now i have had mr treatment and on the mend I would like to show my gratitude by saying Thank you to everyone at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital my treatment as took a while to get over each person their as a job to do from cleaning to Admin To Drs and all do it the best they can. I had been considering surgery for several years so attended an open day at Stoneygate. Everything was explained to me so well by Mr Kumar. I was then left to decide if I wanted to go ahead.
In February after choosing to go ahead with Multifocal lens I had my left eye surgery. I was made to feel so at ease by all the friendly staff. The procedure was so quick and painless. I had a check up one week on and a date agreed for my right eye which was three weeks after.
I am so impressed with the care I received and the vision I now have without glasses.
I am definitely glad I chose to use Stoneygate Eye hospital. Many thanks to Mr Kumar and the team.

My Husband recently had the cataracts done in both eyes, from the moment you walked through the door you were welcomed like an old school friend, the staff were all extremely helpful, always asking if you wanted a drink and making sure you were o k, the team doing the operation were exceptional, very polite and helpful, the aftercare amazing, we couldn't thank them enough.

first heard about Stoneygate Eye Hospital after seeing they had an open day coming up online in December. From the very first minute everyone was amazing and really informative, which helped me feel confident about going ahead.

I had been +5 in both eyes and wore contact lenses for years. I’m 42 and work as a plasterer, so dealing with contacts in dusty environments was always a hassle. After speaking with my surgeon, Dr Kumar, during the consultation I felt completely at ease. From our first conversation he was brilliant, explained everything clearly and answered all my questions.

I had refractive lens replacement surgery in January and the whole experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. My vision has improved massively — I went from barely being able to see the top line on the eye chart without correction to reading almost the whole chart.

The best part is waking up in the morning and being able to see clearly straight away without putting contact lenses in. Driving, especially at night, is so much clearer and everyday life just feels easier.

I’m really grateful to Dr Kumar and the whole team at Stoneygate Eye Hospital. The care and professionalism throughout the process were excellent and I would highly recommend them to anyone considering lens replacement surgery. It’s honestly been life-changing.

I cannot praise Stoneygate Eye Hospital enough. I was really very nervous to have my cataract procedure done, but from start to finish all the staff have been wonderful, very caring and kind, especially my consultant, Mr Savant, who certainly put me at my ease, I cannot thank you enough. What a great team you all are. I shall not hesitate to have my other eye done when I feel the time is right and would certainly recommend Stoneygate Eye Hospital to anyone needing such treatment.

Words cannot express how grateful I am to the whole team at Stoneygate and especially Mr Savant. I was scratched in the eye by my cat and developed a horrible condition called Recurrent Corneal Erosion Syndrome where on any given day, my erosion would reoccur, sometimes landing me in eye casualty without notice. For 2 years I was experiencing extreme eye pain and erosions that felt like having glass in your eye around 2-3 times a month, sometimes a couple of times a week and developed a fear of opening my eyes in the morning. It got to a point where I had to carry local anaesthetic with me wherever I went, an erosion could occur completely randomly and impact my ability to drive and carry out my day to day activities.
After not getting any resolution through the NHS and feeling quite helpless, my partner offered to help me fund a private consultation with Mr Savant.
From the beginning I was treated with sensitivity and an appreciation of the impact this condition has on quality of life. I was given a couple of different options and price brackets for treatment and opted for PTK laser surgery which gave the best chance of long term resolution. The risks and procedures were discussed in full so I had a good understanding of what to expect in terms of pain and recovery. Mr Savant is very honest and upfront which I appreciate.

I was extremely nervous but the procedure itself was quick and efficient and I was put at ease by the entire team from start to finish. Yes, the recovery is uncomfortable but I was given clear instructions, medications and advice to manage this and in the end, it was comparable to a single erosion event. Mr Savant and his team at every stage have gone over and above. He even came over to the hospital on a Saturday when he wasn't meant to be there to check my eye himself when I was experiencing some pain after surgery and the aftercare has been nothing short of exemplary. When I had a complication with my vision after surgery, it was dealt with and resolved. A special mention for Optometrist Herj too who has been so lovely and thorough at all my appointments.

The outcome of surgery was beyond any of my expectations. Today I have had ZERO erosions since surgery. My last erosion was 18 months ago. I no longer carry local anaesthetic with me like my life depends on it and I don't carry a bag full of eye drops everywhere. I don't fear waking up in the morning or accidentally rubbing my eye. I no longer feel like I constantly have grit in my eye and can see perfectly out of it.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stoneygate Eye Hospital and in particular Mr Savant to anyone experiencing this truly horrific condition. Every member of staff has been friendly and passionate about what they do. I couldn't be more appreciative and grateful for everything you have done. I am now pain free and living my life like my eye condition never happened which at one point, I didn't think was possible so THANK YOU!!!!

The hospital is very clean and modern and has a relaxing athmosphere.
I had a cataract removal and from start to finish the whole procedure was very efficient and well organised.
I had expected to be at the hospital for around 3 hours but was amazed when one hour after arriving the whole proceedure was completed and i was relaxing in the recovery room.
I left the clinic only 2 hours after arriving and am making a good recovery.

From the moment I entered the hospital I was made to feel very safe and relaxed. All the staff from reception to nursing and surgery were so kind and understanding. I had a lens implant procedure to both eyes. My consultant Mr Savant was approachable, giving clear and appropriate information.
The procedures were both completely free from pain or discomfort and I had no post operative complications.
I was seen post operatively by Herj, who couldn’t have kinder or more encouraging. It was a lovely experience to meet her.
Without exception all staff were friendly and supportive.
A totally positive experience with a perfect outcome.

I have uveitis and cataracts in both my eyes (had my 1st cataracts operation on the 30/04/25). I cannot recommend stoneygate (located in Leicester) enough to anyone with eye issues. Long story short I have CPTSD due to negligent experiences from the NHS and Stoneygate have been fantastic. They are compassionate, professional and approachable. Mr Kumar is amazing, I wouldnt have anyone else be in charge of my care and that is saying something! I am beyond grateful for the support I have and continue to receive from Stoneygate and I know I am in bestest of hands.

I have very recently had two cataracts removed and lenses fitted at the clinic and I over the moon with both the treatment and the results. On arrival at reception I was greeted by two wonderful receptionists who were fantastic and I was soon at ease. A quick eyesight test and eye drops by and charming and efficient young lady and I was ready to go. Mr Kumar is fantastic both at his job and at explaining what he is about to do as we went through the procedure. I have nothing but praise for him and his staff. A special thank you to Evelyn for explaining the system and all about the after care etc. An amazing team from start to finish .. Thank you all.

Last April 2024 I had upper lid blepharoplasty with Mrs Berry-Brincat.
This was not successful as not enough skin was taken off my eyelids. I paid an extra £500 for an anaesthesia. Total cost £3,000. The result was not satisfactory and I complained. Mrs Berry-Brincat offered to revise the surgery. After a second opinion I decided to go with Mr Sampath. He said one eye was more hooded than the other. After the second surgery
with him, (no anaesthesia this time), it took a good few weeks for my eyes to heal and hence more scarring. This whole experience has left me with anxiety and has lowered my confidence.
I would not recommend this hospital for cosmetic surgery. My husband was unhappy for me and the result I have now.

I have been very pleased with my recent experience at Stoneygate Eye Hospital. I was initially referred for NHS cataract surgery to my left eye and chose this clinic because it also offered private treatment and I suspected that the lens I would need and prior laser eye surgery might necessitate this option. I was treated very professionally and courteously at all stages of assessment and given all the necessary information to make a decision. Mr Savant discussed in detail what choices of lens and potential outcomes there were and I requested private treatment to get a toric lens for astigmatism (not available on the NHS). The surgery itself was quickly, efficiently and painlessly conducted and the recovery uneventful. Follow up was timely and very thorough. I found all the staff at the clinic very professional and caring.
I am delighted with the result as the vision in the left eye is now better than the right eye for intermediate and near vision and, using both eyes together, my vision is near perfect.

I have had a very severe prescription since I was 15 and heavily relied on contact lens and glasses. This level of short sited ness can have a severe impact on your everyday life and I found that over the last couple of years the support from local opticians was poor.
I visited Stoneygate Eye Hospital and they suggested Lens Replacement Surgery which I have now had in both eyes. It is nothing short of LIFE CHANGING.
The facilities were all very state of the art, the staff were very friendly especially Ruby who cared for me before and after both procedures, she was so kind and thoughtful, a real gem!!

My cataract surgery in the right eye at The Stoneygate Eye Hospital was just as smooth and reassuring as the first one. Your team, especially consultant Raghavan Sampath and nurse Emerald, provided the compassionate care and support I needed. I felt very comfortable and highly satisfied on both visits. I do not have enough words to express the amazing transformation in my eyes. I am now so happy as a result of clearer vision!

I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received during an appointment with Ms. Lina Osman regarding a diagnosis of glaucoma. It was absolutely 'top drawer'in all respects.
