Absolute disgrace of a company, do not deal with this scam company no customer service it’s disgusting

Dreadful. Never got beyond the first telephone call. Prices out of this world and a sales agent who would not stop talking

Unless you are very rich don't use the company. Their hourly rates are absolutely disgusting they run through the blub when someone calls so fast that a senior can get very confused very quickly. This resulted in my elderly mother having to pay out £464 to have her toilet Syphon valve changed. The "plumber " that came round clearly wasted time so it ran over an hour by some 17 minutes meaning the charge was for 2 hours. Worse was to follow the toilet didn't work correctly and she had to get another plumber to sort it out.

This company use slightly different names to enable them to spread all their bad reviews.

My advice, stay away from any plumbing related company with Rightio in the name. They tried to blackmail us into replacing a perfectly good boiler, and still charged my for the privilege when I did not fall for their scam.

I looked into how it can be that a company like this, can have a claimed 4.77/4.8 out of 5 star rating from over 2911 reviews on reviews . co . uk, as advertised on their own website, but bad ratings on other review websites. I looked at the reviews they link to on reviews . co . uk and noticed they are still getting (only) 5 star reviews even though I have not been able to contact them since 04-11-2025. I have only been able to get hold of them today (02-12-2025) when someone answered (one of the many phone numbers they use). That is suspicious to me.
FYI. They recognised my phone number because the guy today knew who I was as soon as he answered, I think that is how they were able to block me from getting hold of them.

One gets a different (I think true and realistic) view of Rightio when you look at their star rating and read the reviews on other review websites.

Trustpilot: 3.4 out of 5 however, read the reviews. Even some of the non 1 and 2 star reviews, complain about the company.

sitejabber: 1.3 out of 5. The same (scam) tactic happened to me as with that some of the reviewers on this website reported. Only at this time, Rightio used the website and name “plumber . rightio . co . uk”. It is the same guy on the photo they currently use, only he is younger.

sitejabber: 1.6 out of 5. They changed their name to Rightio . co . uk but the bad reviews accumulated quickly and are similar in nature.

It turns out that the “excellent” reviews referred to on their add and website, may be false ("massaged") because on other review websites, this company has a lot of very bad reviews.

If websites like reviews.co.uk are enabling rogue traders to delete or suppress bad reviews (and it does seem like it to me), then they are enabling criminals to operate and get away with it.

Boiler was not working. Phoned next morning - very helpful on the phone and set me up with an appointment. I told the man on the phone that I was a teacher and could not leave until 3.30pm. He said that he would put the appointment for after 3pm and that the engineer would phone me when he was half hour away. He was also quick to sell me a care plan which I thought would be good as they had been very efficient so far. Little did I know! The engineer turned up at 3.10pm without calling. When I phoned him back he said that he was on the way to a new job and would not come back. I phoned the company and they said oh they are sorry but they could not get anyone out now. I said but it is your mistake. Then they said that I could have an appointment Tuesday afternoon which is laughable! Do not use this company they lulled me into a false sense of security & stressed me out completely.

Don,t know how but Rightio have managed to get hundreds of negative reviews removed from TRUSTPILOT including mine written and postes some 5 weeks ago.
Just to reiterate they are the worse company I have ever dealt with, charging a 200% markup on what jobs should cost and they are NOT local no matter the number you phone.
Do not use this company as their sole rolew is to rinse money out of you.
Also do not believe the reviews on their webste as they are either made up or so filtered as to be meaningless.

No where on the website does it mention, that they charge a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE of nearly £99.00 +Vat = £118.80, which you have to pay upfront on the phone.I said, I am not comfortable giving you the money upfront and asked them what does it cover. He said it covers 1 hour labour and you can pay the part to the tradesman. Then I had a shock, when the tradesman charged labour and part. I told the tradesman, I have already paid them. He replied, I have nothing to do with them.
I asked this company for a full refund for mis-selling their services. Managed to get 50%. The job cost me double.
Their Business ethics are questionable and scamming vulnerable people was a bad experience. Being dishonest and untrustworthy will be their downfall. I wish I had read all the reviews before I parted with the money.

Less than a star! AVOID AT ALL COST!
They take the booking upfront and never answer the phone again or put you on hold. They don't deliver what they promise as their tradesmen never appear in the agreed time frame. They will be reported as scam taken to court soon.

Update - they have been reported to trading standards and action is being taken against them.

where sending me Threatening Email Asking me to pay within 24 hrs But they had not even provided a Invoice for payment When This was Received same Again pay or threating legal Action I work for very large Corporation so No problem paying I would Never Use This Lot Again 0 out of 10

AVOID THIS COMPANY -
Took £120 off me for which seems to be a finders fee not a booking fee, i was told an electrician would come out between 1-5pm they took the money from me at 2pm and i got a call from the electrician saying he will be with me by 7pm.
i need an electrician when agreed apon atleast, but to be then told i need to pay another additional £100 for this electrician to attend my house just put the icing on the cake ! ..... DO NOT USE ! SCAM !

Like many of the others on this site I had an emergency so didnt have time to read the reviews unfortunately. Charge me £180 for an emergency call out the so called expert turned up, took a look in the airing cupboard, then took a look at the boiler and said the boiler was broken and needed changing, he didnt even get a tool out of his bag, He then spent more time filling ion his job sheet than actually looking for a problem. Called out another expert so immediately identified the problem as a broken pump and replace it all at a cheaper cost then the call out fee of this company. Avoid at all costs rip off merchants

Happy to take your money (£120) and promise a call out by 5pm the same day.. I then rang at 4pm as I hadn’t heard anything and was told they would be with me within the hour. At 16:58 Lewis (the worst customer service I’ve ever received) called to say my engineer wouldn’t be coming today and that my money was non-refundable.

Stupidly I hadn’t read these other reviews before booking with them.

Scam!!!! People are rude, they lie and take more money out of your bank then they tell you!!! I have been told I can't get my money back as its non refundable EVEN THOUGH NO ONE TOLD ME ON THE PHONE ONCE ID BOOKED THE JOB!!!! I spoke to 3 different people Luke, Louis, and Dan!!!! They just stole my money and no work has been done!! I've reported this to my bank!

This company should be avoided at ALL costs. I was not told that my booking alone would cost £72.50, I was told that was the cost of the plumber per 30 mins. Customer service is absolutely shocking. Lewis on the phone had absolutely no care or intention to help me. Please avoid.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. These people are so quick to take your money off of you at the beginning and do absolutely nothing to facilitate the work you're hiring them for.

Called on Monday for a tradesmen to do some minor work for us and was told someone would be round in the afternoon. Builder was apparently booked in and then cancelled that evening. Called Tuesday morning and was told he was booked in for 3pm that day. Didn't hear anything all day, call Tuesday afternoon and was told they'd try and call the engineer and was told to wait until 9am Wednesday. By this time, I'd had enough and found someone reliable.

Constantly put on hold, no customer service and genuinely sounds like a couple of guys making some fast money.

Thanks to YELL for advertising these leeches.

Will be reporting to trading standards and seeking legal action. Would give 0 Stars if I could.

SCAM - DO NOT USE

Scammed £80 from my father. No engineer showed up, when called he said he wasn't going to show up either.

Asked for a refund and was told they won't refund

Do not use this company! I booked a glazier with them on wednesday. They told me the job would get done the next day, thursday. On Thursday the glazier himself phoned me and told me he couldn't come until Monday. This would not work at all for me. This company would not give me my money back over £80.00, saying that was a non refundable booking fee, in spite of the job being cancelled. Take my advice, don't use this company!

Scammed by this lot,paid £99 for a booking fee and still no one has been out to my property to assess the broken window, numerous calls to them either put on hold or no answer. Trading standards need to have a look at this lot,

Spoke to company washing machine repair, 2pm next day was arranged. At 2pm I received a call cancelling the visit , told to call the office again, I was given the number of another workman, Paul, who told me that he is losing work through this local company as the £82+ BOOKING FEE, is thought to be part of the repair fee by customers, including me, so he does not get the job as his repairs would be in addition to the £82+My repair of course is not done, and the use of gaslighting abuse is the only business that these charlatans are good at.
