My wife and I went to "Havana Música: A Celebration of Cuban Music" at the Jazz Cafe in Camden Town last night and we had a fantastic time. The venue is literally 2 minutes away from Camden Town underground station so it's really easy to find / get to. All the staff were really friendly and polite from the security on the door when we arrived, to the guy in the cloakroom, the bar staff and everyone else in between. The DJ played latin music until the band came on stage and during the interval. The band, The Sambroso All Stars, were brilliant! They played real, authentic Cuban / Latin music better than we've heard in Havanna! A great atmosphere and wonderful music and dancing. My only criticism is that although the doors opened at 7pm, the band didn't start playing until well after 8pm so it was quite a long wait.

I and my aide ( i have mobility issues and CANNOT walk unaided), were given " complimentary" tickets after a SHAMBOLIC first visit , well, after getting into the venue and waiting to talk to the person in charge of the disabled seating section ( which seems to be a poorly thought out seating arrangement which consisted of a few chairs squeezed by the side of the stage!!!!), I was told my name was NOT on the seating list!!!!!...After standing around ( in severe pain i might add!!!), whilst this person contacted the person who had GUARANTEED i would be treated correctly on THIS occasion, i was given a seat which was located DIRECTLY BEHIND THE KEYBOARD PLAYER!!!! as you can imagine my view was of the performing artists SHOES!!!!!.
Absolute disgrace, i will NOT be frequenting this venue again because it is NOT suitable for disabled patrons, and this should be stipulated on their website!!!
