This was our first time using the Hub and also our first wholesale purchase to kick start our thrifting business. This experience has been very stressful and a massive set back.

Issues we experienced:

Firstly our order was not sent correctly, of course benefit of the doubt and fully understand that human errors can be made. A whole section of our order was wrong, we ordered track pants and received track tops. To rectify this would be have been a long process, waiting for them to be collected and received before our correct order could then be packaged and delivered (taking up a lot of our limited time).

There is no way these clothes were washed, too many of them stank of body odour and some marks came out on first simple wash. The clothes were not properly packaged or folded nicely as shown in their videos, thrown into the box and the box itself was very flimsy and had ripped by the time it reached us. While we weren’t expecting freshly washed clothes in immaculate conditions, we weren’t expecting poorly packaged items that are dirty, with body odour and in an unsellable condition.

I will list below my order and our experience with each item category.

X30 branded t-shirts:

At least 2 fake t-shirts in and 4 seriously either stretched, stained and in appalling condition. The time taken to stain treat and wash the tops, minus the unsellable products (6 T-shirts), and the price per t-shirt, makes these unprofitable. Near enough all of these tops could be found at a Car-boot sale for £1.

X50 Y2K tops:

X1 dress and x1 playsuit (both hurrendous). 25 of the tops were okay. The other 23 are quite out of fashion, grandma tops and cheap tops with shein quality with the labels cut out.

30 Hiphop shorts:

X5/ 30 had broken zips and missing buttons. Whilst still could be sold, no profit can be made. One of the ‘shorts’ were a pair of ladies jeans. X5 of the shorts were heavily stained and required treatment. Again at the price paid, and the time spent on these, the profit margins are next to nothing.

30 Y2K skirts: x2 with broken zips and x3 need staining treatment. As a whole this stock was okay.

30 branded trackpants, as mentioned above we received tracktops instead : x2 definitely fake with no labels at all. X2 heavily stained. X2 the elastics completely worn out and out of shape.

The 0-10% grading system is sadly not the case for our order. It’s clear the selection process for our order was done quite brazenly with not much care. We had really high hopes, but unfortunately will not be returning customers. We are solely leaving this review to just warn others of the potential issues that they may encounter.

For the quality of the items received and further market research, we find these items to be overpriced. Unfortunately this experience will cost us to at best break even if we are lucky.

This is easily one of the best wholesalers in Devon, and even across the UK. I got my first batch of stock and was genuinely impressed. A few items weren’t great, but overall the quality was strong. For the price, it’s a solid deal and definitely worth the money.

We have placed a few orders with these guys now. Communication and delivery times are top notch. Most orders have been quite good. The biggest positive is that they will accept returns and offer a solution. We received a y2k womens festival style tops order that wasn't the best, but they happily accepted the return and we chose a direct swap for some Tommy Hilfiger shirts. They sent these out really promptly, but here's the best bit they had actually put at least 25 Ralph Lauren shirts in the order. We are still not 100% sold on the reliability of the stock we can get from UK suppliers, but based on their customer service alone we would definitely give these guys a go again.

The Hub Vintage Wholesale is hands down the best in the game for anyone serious about sourcing high-quality vintage.
