Sarah has really helped us getting our young working line Lab to a place where he is a joy to handle. He was great in the house but essentially did what he wanted when out and about which was a concern. Sarah has given us the tools and helped us to understand what motivates our boy to great effect. Additionally, Sarah is fantastic with a great sense of humour, never judging our mistakes and always wanting the best for us and Reggie.

We decided to work with Sarah based on numerous recommendations within our local community. Our 8year old rescue pooch had some anxious behaviours we didn't quite understand and she's also been quite reactive to most dogs most of the time we've had her.

Sarah was able to not only explain the reasons why those behaviours occurred but also gave us simple exercises to follow that within just a few days following our first session eliminated some of Milly's anxious behaviours pretty much completely. They may crop up every now and then in singular instances while in the past they'd be happening several times a day (i.e. bed kneading and suckling).

We've also been able to take her outing about with us more as she's already being so much better with other doggos and we've only had 2 sessions.

Sarah has been a really great coach. We contacted her as our puppy could be quite reactive and snappy, but after only one session we saw an enormous improvement and we no longer have any issues. She was easy to contact and responded promptly to issues when we needed help.

Sarah has been helping us with our rescue dog who is very fearful because of her horrid experiences out on the streets in the Balcan. She has made tremendous improvements. I am very impressed with the insight Sarah has, she truly reads and understands what's going on with our dog and even small changes in our behavior have a huge impact. We have tried another dog trainer before and they were utterly useless. Sarah does not just feed the dog with treats or recommends pumping her full with tranquilizers, she understands the root causes and helps us change them fundamentally, making a happy self-confident dog and happy home and owner. Our Dachschund Simba used to pull excessively on the lead, was very reactive to other dogs (due to low exposure to socialisation as a puppy), struggled to understand boundaries in the house, barked excessively, and was disobedient. After a package of training sessions with Sarah, we saw a great improvement in his behaviour. He walks very nicely on the lead now, is much more obedient to basic commands, and is a more balanced, happy dog with a much reduced reactivity. Sarah has always been very professional in her interactions with us, setting achievable targets and advice as well as updating us regularly on Simba's progress. I highly recommend Sarah and the Good Dog Coach if you are looking for a training that is holistic and takes into account your relationship with your dog so it is maximised to give you the results you are seeking. We cannot thank Sarah enough for her brilliant work with training us to train Simba :)

we had some trouble getting our Lurcher to focus on walks and not get too excited when seeing other dogs, and Sarah really helped us by teaching some strong handling skills to keep his mind on the job. we saw improvement right away and one week in it's getting better and better. Sarah is great at getting you to understand how dog's learn, allowing one to generalise to other situations, too. highly recommended!

Sarah is amazing!! We have a far more dynamic and harmonious relationship with our handsome but stubborn golden retriever now. Sarah gave us the confidence to persist and correct old, learned behaviours and then build great behaviours. A very rewarding experience all round.

Sarah was very helpful with our dog - she spent a lot of time asking detailed questions and understanding our dog's behaviour and personality. She really took the time to understand the specific needs and questions we had and offered detailed feedback and perspectives to help us better train and handle the dog. I appreciated that she took a long intake and consultation before we signed up for training to explain her process and that we had one long session which allowed us not to feel rushed and gave us time to cover a number of areas. I have a Standard Poddle (Lana) who is often too smart for her own good. She is, more generally, very well behaved but definitely needed some additional training in order to get her through the tiresome puppy and adolescent stages of her development where training often goes out the window. Having completed several sessions with Sarah working through a number of exercises such as lead control, basic commands and 'The Following Mindset' I always feel much calmer after seeking advice both within and outside of coaching sessions. I couldn't recommend Sarah any more highly.

Life changing! I called Sarah with issues with my dog constantly barking which was bringing genuine stress and anxiety to my life. It was unbearable and despite consulting other trainers and vets, I couldn’t find a solution and was beginning to reach the end of my patience. Enter Sarah - after a two hour session tilly has totally transformed, very little barking and it has fully transformed our life together. I can’t thank you enough Sarah and cannot recommend her enough!

Sarah is an amazing dog and human trainer.
We approached her as we were having some guarding and anger issues in our 8 month old Miniature Pinscher.
The process was excellent, starting with a call to discuss and then face to face training for us all. Instantly we all felt comfortable with Sarah and her techniques, it was amazing the results after 1 session. We have kept with the training and techniques at home and outside, we have a much happier puppy which makes us sooooo happy.
Will be using Sarah again for next stages.

I trained my first dog (a female, hunting breed, related to a Spaniel) with positive only reinforcement. And while that worked to a certain degree, her instincts still got the better of her in certain situations and neither toys, funny noises I was making nor high value treats would get her attention back towards me. This was manageable while she was the only dog but when we got our 2nd dog, a boy of the same breed, her behaviour gradually got worse and in the end she stubbornly ignored most commands - I was worried for both my dogs’ and my own safety and the daily walks I used to cherish became very stressful indeed.
My girl used to pull on the lead when squirrels were nearby (and boy, are there are a lot of them in London parks!). When off lead she went into a frenzy around them, barking at trees, running away from me - and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I did would get her out of it. But the worst was that she taught the boy how much fun was to be had with squirrels and I ended up with two dogs that were out of control. The embarrassment I felt, when I used to try to get them back under control while they were in a squirrel frenzy, was mortifying.
Sarah‘s balanced approach between positive reinforcement AND making the dogs understand that bad behaviour is not wanted (in my case we introduced a remote control spray collar and a tone), made me able to communicate exactly what I wanted, and now my dogs understand straight away what is allowed and what is not.
Especially the change in my girl is incredible! She can be quite anxious in certain situations (she used to be noise reactive after a couple of traumatic incidences) but I was very pleased (and surprised!) to see that Sarah‘s training method made a huge difference to her anxiety levels (and mine!). Within weeks of training with this new approach my girl trusted me more, is now much more focussed on me as a whole and eager to learn new things. She also does not react in panic anymore to situations that used to be very challenging for her, but looks for my guidance instead. That in turn enables me to give her more freedom to enjoy life and she certainly loves it! This also shows that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks (she is now 6 years old) with a bespoke training approach.
I can now walk both of my dogs off lead in my local parks without any issue, they come when called, their leave command is now very good and we are working on walking to heel while on lead (which they are already pretty good at). All three of us are happy all around. I will never stop being grateful to Sarah for helping me become a proud and confident dog mama.
