Misleading drop-shipping company, do not use
I ordered a dog nail scratching box from The Calm Paw, having seen an ad on Instagram, on 16 March for £39 and found the experience very misleading.
The site presents itself like a UK brand, but there is no clear business address — only a name and email. After ordering, I received emails from different names (“TheCalmPaw” and “Demo Gems”) and third-party domains, making it unclear who the seller actually is.
Delivery information is inconsistent: the product page states 1 day dispatch and 9 days delivery, while the shipping policy says 1–3 days processing and 9–12 days delivery. The item was shipped internationally via YunExpress (with Yodel last mile), which was not clearly disclosed at checkout. It is not made obvious that orders are being shipped internationally, despite identical products being available elsewhere for significantly less.
Tracking was limited and confusing, and policies on the site are contradictory (e.g. 90-day guarantee vs restrictive returns terms). The site also displays logos suggesting endorsements that are not clearly explained.
When I asked to cancel my order due to the delay and concerns, I received generic responses and was asked to withdraw my bank dispute before a refund would be issued.
Overall, this felt like a misleading dropshipping operation rather than a transparent business. I would not recommend.
