My photo tour in Istanbul was led by Timurtaş Onan a professional photographer of over 40 year’s experience and author of many photography books. He is a native of Istanbul and as such not only knows the streets and locations intimately, but knows the owners of many of the locations we visited. What I enjoyed most is that at each location we paused to discuss what we were about to see, best compositions, taking advantage of light and shadows. Whenever he met an interesting person, he would seek permission to photograph them even at times directing them to face in a certain direction. In all I felt his experience in the field, which made my captures all that more interesting. He would check my photos on the spot and made suggestions of moving sideways or shooting lower. I have attended many workshops in a variety of cities, but I felt that this time I left with the most output I’ve had from a workshop.

The college class I led in a study abroad program from California had an awesome street art tour with Terra Tours. He's super knowledgeable and friendly. We were led on a fun street art tour of East London as well as the V&A Museum's Photography Collection Exhibitions. Wonderful experience and an essential part of our London program, I highly recommend!
