TD Bank has the tagline "America's most convenient bank." This is not true if you are small business owner. They have zero customer service skills, incompetent assistants that don't advise you how to manage their complexities and then charge you an arm & a leg to do the most simple transactions. The assistant manager and manager were supposed to return my call after meeting with the assistant manager at noon yesterday. I was told they would get back to me shortly. Stock move and taxes
My wife ( age 65 ) and I ( age 67 ) were trying to consolidate our investments - 3 IRAs and one stock
Fund.
The IRA accounts moved over smoothly. The stock account from Wells Fargo also moved over but we were taxed on the capital gains. I am not a finance person and assumed that the money would move from one firm to another without being taxed as we did not take possession of the money - just got a check that was sent to us and we signed it over to TD Bank.
Our Financial Advisor that worked with us never made it clear about any possible taxes or tax implications.
I feel I was duped and all they were concerned was getting my money under their control.
I trusted a Financial Advisor at a bank - my mistake.
Feeling bad about poor review but worse about service!
I honestly feel bad leaving a poor review and never do but enough is enough. Some of the branch customer service folks are kind enough but it scarcely makes up for the incompetence of the overall system. Lost payments, mistaken info, impatience customer service not to mention the folks that just don't listen. It's too late for me, I already took the HELOC after 6 months of paperwork, I'm stuck, but RUN while you have the chance, hope to save you the hassle...
Absolutely a trash bank.
Absolutely a trash bank... Their website doesn't seem to work for me half the time. They charge for every thing i do , such as sending a e-transfer and even a $5 charge for cancelling a e-transfer. customer service through the phone is trash too. I honestly wish i never even bothered to bank with them but because my situation I'm stuck with these clowns. DON'T BANK WITH TD ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A BUSINESS! There is so much more to complain about but i dont wanna waste my time and energy on this.. i don't normally write reviews about any business good or bad ... but i'm so heated right now i had to write something because of constant disappointment.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience! Opened a new account, bank lost account. I have my account number but TDbank says the account doesn’t exist! So they said to open the account again. I attempted to and the computer wouldn’t allow me to because it’s a DUPLICATE account! Duh!!!!! I thought it didn’t exist? 🤔 I also have screenshots that show the account number was issued. Talked to three supervisors and none had any interest in adequately addressing the situation. Most convenient bank in the world? Ha! B.S! I will take my six figure balance and open my account at a bank that can be trusted and not with these clowns. Go elsewhere! What a waste of time and so unprofessional.

I bought my truck Jan. 2021. My credit history with TD Auto Finance is 100%. In 3 years and 4.5 months I asked for an extension last August. Ive never even asked for an extension befor or after until approx two weeks ago. In the event of an extension, they still collect interest and simply add the payment on the back side of the loan. They make more money in the long run but it obviously helps the consumer in the moment.
Well... my wife's sister recently passed. She lived in the USA, but she's Hispanic and her family lives in Mexico. Her sister was 53, the oldest sibling and their rock... Obviously her immediate family was destroyed. It meant everything to my wifes mother, sisters, brother and nieces/ nephews to get her body sent back to Mexico for a proper service/ memorial and have her body buried there. Unfortunately, this was put basically all on me. It's not cheap and stung financially but felt I had no choice. They don't live in complete poverty, but rather poor.
I called a few of my bigger loan creditors and EVERY SINGLE ONE showed sympathy and heart and gave me a simple one month extension without any problems EXCEPT for one. Even after asking one single time in almost 3.5 years TD Auto Finance said NO. It didn't matter. They basically stated circumstances don't matter (my wifes deceased sister didn't matter) and policy states they can only give one extension in a 12 month period. I reiterated in almost 3.5 yrs I've only asked one time. It didn't matter.
TD Auto Finance, I have a wife and two children. Again, my payment history as reflected on all three major credit reports shows 100% positive with you and my other debitors. We are also trying to buy a home in the near future and don't need you to devastate me on my credit report. But SCREW YOU. I will refinance very very soon and NEVER consider doing business with you again. I will also give my review on every site that accepts business reviews to know what happened and what kind of a company you truly are.
Don't bother with these clowns
I have been actively trying to improve my credit for over 5 years with 0 missed payments but based on my past, they continue to decline my request for a credit card (even a guaranteed cc) the agents I've seen at the branch are unhelpful and don't do any more than they have to, to help. They dont give me any suggestions or precise reasons why. Instead, they just remind me that my credit is bad. Terrible. I though TD was better than other banks and they have been until recently but they are all the same. All I want to do is get a credit card to better my credit score but they are unwilling to help. FAIL.
No customer service, no dispute resolution no communication.
TD filed an ACH dispute for me about a global transfer that does not work. Then they closed the dispute without investigation, advising or coming up with a solution. There is no customer service, no review by them, no follow up, no global transfer and no communication with customer.
I feel TD Stole my Money!

I asked twice what was 'wrong', and finally told them to 'Stop' and explain but was ignored.

Honestly, I have been dealing with TD for more than 15 years but Never Ever see BAD service operating but POOR RUDE disqulaified management like this branch before.
Every two weeks I deposit my cheque from same place same account same owner and almost same amount , and usually when I deposited anywhere no problem in seconds . But when I deposited in this branch I had to wait at least 10 minutes keep checking for the cheques ,dealing with you like you fake your cheque !!!
And keep asking you stupid questions, like where you live,...
They don't have any professional background to just look at the history check the deposits history which no change in months !!!
The only branch I feel the employee are getting non sense in dealing with customers because the non sense manager she leads them. Poor employee and I'm changing my bank for sure . And hopefully TD look one time to Google review and take an action and sending auditors which Obviously would detect the issue there and hopefully we see new manager there soon.
The one in highbury and Fanshawe is amazing with an amazing manager lady ,don't know her name but I had an issue before in my cheque and was a big issue (letters in name ). But because she is professional and expert could figure out the mistake and the solution right away and releasing my cheque right away. Amazing service in highbury and Fanshawe one.

TD Bank on Belmont ave in Haledon, NJ...is the worst bank ever, the ATM's never work and is always broken and when you go inside to do a transaction the Tellers are rude and have attitudes. Customers should be greeted with a good morning or hello but instead the tellers act as if they don't want to be there. forgot to add they are very slow.

Came to my branch to open an account for my daughter. The branch manager told me that they are going to close in about 15 minutes so she doesn't want to start the process as it might take longer and told me to come another time.

Why I Dislike TD Bank...
TD bank was the worst banking experience I have ever had in my whole 28 years of being on this planet. For starters, they do NOT have security alerts if your account gets hacked to which they recommended I get a credit card even though I am rebuilding my credit and I would get denied anyways.
My account at TD Bank got hacked a total of 2 times without any alert notifying me. I had to have my card replaced twice in which the last time was the final straw. I ended up owing them due to having overdraft fees occurring even though the debit card was destroyed and the account was pending being closed after trying to get my money back from the previous hack. I would NOT recommend this bank to anyone. I have switched back to BOA and have never been happier.

I cannot get into my account with correct info. I was told for security I need to prove who I am and would text me code. I never recd. I called the MOST INCONVENIENT BANK and was told if I didnt get the text to ask them to call me which I did. Never recd call. After about 8 minutes I recd text with code. When I entered was told incorrect security code. This is the worst bank ever!!!!!!!!
I have been with TD a LONG time- but now…
I have been with TD a LONG time- and possibly this is the final month. It started simply - over the last few years. Not just the sudden price gouging, more and more hours and personnel reductions - but in Dec I received a notice of 'non-use' of a credit card. I was told it would be closed unless I used it within a certain term (well past the end of month) - and then they sent me 0% balance transfer offers. So I decided while in personal transitions as is, I would take advantage of the offer, keep the card in good standing - etc - by doing a mini consolidation. I calculated the exact balance transfer fees vs other payoff amounts and overall cost to pay over time with 0% vs other budget, etc. I called TD to confirm the fees, terms - and customer service had no clue except to give me the 'script speech'. In any case, these were smaller amounts so I went ahead. But with holidays and slow mail- when transfers could not be completed online or over the phone, I made sure that the mailed checks they sent me would be appropriate. They told me as long as I mailed them prior to Jan 10 - and, also that the numbers on the checks corresponded to the offers.
The first online attempt failed. Why? my credit card had already been placed in a 'close' mode with TD internally. So I had to call in and request a reinstatement. The second online attempt was fine. The third and fourth - had to go by mail. So I checked with them again- same answer. I even asked- since I have no control over what the receiving company schedules were -- what would happen if they processed after the Jan 10th end of offer date? Again- I was told- it was on record I called, the numbers on the checks corresponded to the offer - I would be fine.
I received my statement today. Not only was there some strange messages on them- I also had figures that did not correspond to any 'subject to interest' balances and there was interest charged; plus -it stated that one of the items -- received by the debt company on Jan 5 but not processed until a few days ago -- is NOW FULLY INTEREST CHARGEABLE STARTING NEXT MONTH PLUS BALANCE TRANSFER FEES.
I thought- ok, I had all the notes to call them and work this out, right? NO.
Instead I was rudely told I did not know what I was talking about - they spoke over me and told me I was speaking over them and their 'computer notes' were more accurate than my experience. They refused to address the mathematical sum that did not add up to any other figures in the account - and hung up on me (2 different people) and basically treated me as if I was ignorant at math and banking. I even told them I worked in banking in the past. At one point -- one person even told me that "balance transfer subject to interest" was the actual interest payment due (until I pointed out the interest was a completely different column AND figure) -- and my guess- they are trying to write up notes in their system to cover themselves AFTER they were the ones being rude to me.
In addition, I have some medical bills and a sudden leaking shower and they had sent me a personal loan offer the other week. That is a separate department. Not only was I inquisitioned heavily, that department sounds like an outsourced loan agency that has zero visibility to my nearly 15 yrs of banking history (many multiple accounts) there. So not only was my credit score dinged, they kept asking for other documents from TD internally (note- TD also had changed some of their statements to quarterly rather than monthly) - and, had a higher interest rate than my other banks.
So, at this point, they have lost all of my trust, and I do not want my money with an institution that has so much internal disruption and chaos. It is time for me to find another institution ASAP, especially for the USA side. I cannot feel comfortable knowing I will be treated this way by people who could not do math on the other end of the phone to begin with.
The last 2 events occurred within the last hour. At this time, I am prepared to find another bank tomorrow. I also have written several complaint emails to secure customer service messaging for them to see later in which I have clearly stated that I felt tricked into the 0% offer (since I already had suggested I cancel the balance transfer idea first week of January and use other methods of consolidation or payoff if I was going to risk any interest payments) -- and am prepared to report this to banking regulatory agencies as well as social media ASAP. I never realized they thought so little of their customers or employees to have such a horrible environment - and surely this will enforce a huge exodus of business from their corporate institutions. I may give them one more chance- but as of tomorrow, I will be shopping for banks that still want to service humans and not just steal their money with legal loopholes and lies.

Horrible customer service . These people suck. My dis had a bank with them. She had so many problems money missing and etc. reported it many times fraud. They took money out and didn’t tell her she supposed own money. I’m not sure how when she reported fraud. These people either don’t care or are stupid. They should have wrote it down there was issues with someone attempt to stuff to get account as fraud. Yet never did that and now coming after her for money either thow she reported as fraud numerous times. Beware this bank is a fraud and scam. Go elsewhere.
Only time I took the time to write a bad review.
I've never had such a bad experience with a company. Please choose another bank.
