SCAMMERS! They ask you to provide all of your information, claiming I won't have to pay anything. After distrubiting my personal information they say I have to pay them! BE CAREFUL! Especially for Julie and Ivaylo

From what I can see on our assessment of tax years is free of charge. We provided you with two free assessments, and you are not due an income tax refund from Australia.
We, can lodge your tax return with the authorities to fulfil your legal obligations to file, the service fee needs to be covered in advance.
Since you were not interested in filing your tax return, so we closed your file with us, no fee requested.

Avoid at all costs
Utterly useless in claiming back my superannuation from Australia. Particularly useless people include Julie who took ages to reply and Tvestana who decreased my return by 60% from the original estimateand requested that I pay a fee beforehand and send my passport to Ireland. Pair of morons!
Update: I just used another company (expresstax.com.au) and instead of the godawful people at Taxback. $410 they tried to offer me including $148 fee which I had to pay them. I used another company and got back $1224.42. within 6 days without having to send off important documents overseas. So this response is clearly another load of nonsense. :)

Hi Bertie, sorry to hear about your frustration here, Superannuation premiums go to private Super Funds in Australia. While it is possible to organise a superannuation withdrawal (refund claim) before the legal age of retirement, the Australian Government imposes 65% tax on amounts withdrawn. That is the law and we informed you accordingly. Every fund has their own specific set if documents required to accompany a claim, they do not process a refund claim without them. The funds pay any refunds due to the taxpayers’ accounts directly, hence the requested processing fee payment, that is the industry’s standard. Don't recommend
So slow, repetitive and irrelevant emails. Finally got my refund back after 4 months but it was painful dealing with them.

Still don't know what fees they took from my tax refund.
I have asked what their fee was and have had no response back. Yes I received my tax but I still don't know how much they took out to recover their costs. Should be a simple enough request to answer. Use an accountant. 23/12/24 Well they did get back and explain and so I am changing my rating to four stars.

Don’t use taxback!!!
This Company is the worst I ever had to deal with.
I tried to do my taxteturn for 2023/2024.
First of all it took ages for them to review my application, just to reach out to me to say, I need to upload more documents.
After about 3 weeks I got a mail that I would have to pay about 1200$. That was way too high and I asked many times for explaining, why I have to pay that much. Never got any response. You can fill out a form on their website to ask for a call back. I did it twice, never called me back. I asked for help in the 24h Live chat a few times. Never was someone online to help me.
After a week I got a call of my taxagent just to ask if I want to do superannuation with them too. The unfriendliest guy I ever spoke to in my life. So I asked why my taxreturn is -1200$ and he told me I earned in one job about 10.000$, what is not true cause I only stayed there 1 month and earned 3.000. He said he doesn’t believe me.
I send him a proof how much I earned but he never replied. Obviously can’t handle that he made a mistake.
Anyway I went to another Agency and it took only 1 day to lodge my taxreturn. And I only have to pay back 300$.
So please don’t use taxback!

As per logs on your file, we first contacted you for the additional documents needed three business days after you submitted your initial claim with us. We provided you with your free estimation the next day after you confirmed your income earned under your ABN.
We base our assessments on details available in the Australian Tax Office official portal and information our clients provide. The other company that estimated a lower income tax obligation must have received different information from you: looks like they used the same amount of income and tax as per the ATO’s records but claimed significantly higher work-related expenses to decrease the tax owed by you to $419.35. Based on the information available to use, we cannot confirm this assessment to be correct.
We also estimate you are due a superannuation refund and advised of the documents needed to arrange that for you.
If you are interested in claiming your superannuation, please get back to us.

Do not use this company! Can't stress this enough
Learn from my mistakes.
I started my application for my Super in March and its now September and I still have not had my application properly lodged.
THE OVERVIEW
Honestly there is nothing good about this company. It's impossible to contact them via the phone. They do not answer (are always in meetings) then never call back when requested. It takes them 7days plus to respond to an email. They provide out of date and incorrect information when they do respond. They also lie about the steps they have taken and tell a different story to when you actually call Australian Super.
WHAT HAPPENED
I put in my application in March. I paid to have my passport certified. Then a week later they messaged back asking me to get power of attorney certified. This ended up costing me and extra £95 as I had to go back twice to the notary office. They could have told me to get both done at once and saved me the money.
Taxback told me that they have sent all documents (Authorization form, witnessed Authorization form, certified Passport and Third Party form) to Australian Super, but I needed to call Australian super to verify some details on my account.
Having just spoken with Australian super this morning they told me that they have not received any of the documents and that ill have to pay again to get my passport certified as its over 3 months since it was done and falls outside the timeframe.
So the agent at Taxback is clearly lying in his emails.
It sounds like in 7 months they have done nothing.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

We’d like to clarify that we already provided you with copies of all the documents we timely posted to Australian Super and you can see these include the forms they deemed were missing. Why the Australian Super fund claims they did not get the forms remains unclear to us. They must have received them as they started the refund claim for you and worked on it to the point they found a mismatch between the ID documents provided and their records, at which stage they requested you to personally call them and verify your identity. We are sorry updates have been less frequent than you expected, gathering data for superannuation claims takes longer to complete due to the slow response of most Funds.
