New level of poor customer service

There aren't words in the English language to describe how woeful Talk Talks Customer service are. I was without broadband for 5 days and had to send over 200 WhatsApp messages and spend over 3 hours on calls to get them to arrange for an Open Reach engineer. They sent numerous messages stating that problem was fixed when it wasn't and lied to me stating that my issues had been reported to Open Reach when they hadn't.
Other than that, they were great 😅

I WILL NEVER EVER CONSIDER USING TALK TALK

HAVE BEEN WITH TALK TALK FOR MY TINYWORLD EMAIL SINCE THEY TOOK IT OVER FROM A N OTHER AS A FREE TO USE SERVICE. JUST BY CHANCE!! SAW THE NIGHT B4 LAST LATE ON THE 'NET THAT THEY WERE DISPOSING OF TINYWORLD WHICH I'VE HAD FOR DECADES TO A COMPANY THAT CHARGES £60PA CURRENTLY AND THAT YOU WOULD HAVE TO JOIN EVERYMAIL WITH A SUBSCRIPTION, BUT I'D HAD NO NOTIFICATION FROM TALK TALK WHATSOEVER OF THIS AND SO MISSED THE DEADLINES TO DO SO!! ALSO THAT ALL MY DATA WOULD BE DELETED AND NOT BE RECOVERABLE AT ALL BY TODAY i.e. 31ST OCTOBER 2025. THEY DIDN'T SEND ME ANY WARNING OF ANY KIND OF THIS MOVE AND IT HAS CAUSED ME UNDUE STRESS TIME TRAVELLING TO SEE WHAT IF ANYTHING COULD BE DONE TO PRESERVE MY DIGITAL LIFE. IT'S AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE AND SEEMS TO ME TO BE A STRONG ARM TACTIC TO MAKE YOU JOIN TALK TALK AS BEING THE ONLY WAY TO RETAIN ALL YOUR DATA - BASICALLY BLACKMAIL!! THEY SHOULD HAVE THEIR AUTHORITY REMOVED AS 'NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE' IN MY OPINION, AND THEIR CALL CENTRE WAS USELESS WITH ANY ADFVICE AS TO WHAT TO DO.

The customer service system is awful

The customer service system is truly awful. Hours and days lost trying to get to talk to a person. It never did happen. Eventually got through to a person on the chat but only after going through the most tortuous automated telephone and chat sytems I have ever come across. The opposite of having the customer at the centre of their processes. My new provider I was able to get through to a person in five minutes. I will not be using talk talk again.

No internet at all now for a week went…

No internet at all now for a week went through all the checks reboot etc with them.Then put on hold on chat gave up waiting.Literally could have found a new supplier by now.used all my mobile data on their chat.poor customer service will definitely be Leaving them after this

Amateur chat customer journey

to access online chat you have to login, meaning that you have passed verification and the system knows your name, account number, address and everything. Then when choosing chat you are required to key name and account number again, frustration at poor design is building. Then when Veronica picks up the chat thread, guess what? Veronica asks for my name and verification again. Really poor and lazy process design. Finally I ask about a details of the contract, after 10 mins explaining to Veronica multiple times it becomes obvious to both of us that Veronica is just trying to close the call rather than help.

I will never use talk talk again

I will never use talk talk again. I wasn’t in contract. I wanted to cancel they don’t give you this option on the app or online they advise you to chat with someone. I decided to use online chat spoke to one department then put through to another department (who’s sole aim was to get me to stay) even though I said no at least 6 times. Then after 25 mins to be told he can’t cancel online and I need to have someone call me!?? I then called them same thing again put through to second department. Finally got to cancel but have to wait 30 days and all costs associated with that! I will never use this company again.

I’ve had an atrocious experience with…

I’ve had an atrocious experience with TalkTalk from start to finish. After signing up, my bill suddenly increased significantly just three months in — with no clear explanation. When I moved home, I was left without Wi-Fi for two whole months, despite countless calls and false promises that it would be fixed.

To make matters worse, I referred a friend to TalkTalk and was promised a £50 referral voucher — which I never received. When I raised a complaint, I was met with complete indifference. The customer service team couldn’t have cared less about resolving my issues or compensating for the inconvenience.

After this experience, I can honestly say TalkTalk has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing companies I’ve ever dealt with. I would strongly advise anyone to stay well clear — there are far better providers out there who actually value their customers.

Absolutely appalling service had issue…

Absolutely appalling service had issue with are Internet for well over a year now with several engineers promising to have fixed the issue which last for a day or 2 before the issue presists now currently paying for no Internet at all. Engineer was due this morning who never knocked on the door instead tried ringing the door bell (works of Internet) before leaving without us knowing he is there now talk talk want to charge 75 pounds for the incompetence of there engineers as well as charging for no Internet. Would avoid using this company ever again.

Housebound sister paying for no Broadband!.

My sister who is house bound was advised to pay £60 for a new broadband Hub to address issue of Broadband not working. The new Hub hasn’t addressed the issue proving the issue was the Broadband itself!. My sister rang and asked for refund of the £60 as she shouldn’t have been advised to replace it - amazingly this was declined. As a result of the stress she has also paid £12 to cancel even though Broadband still not working for nearly a month. She is now around £100 out of pocked that she can’t afford as also still paying £20 for the Broadband that still isn’t working!. I cannot believe how poor the service has been particularly for someone who is housebound and relies on Broadband.

Talk talk shape up or close up

I cannot criticise the tech people once you get hod of their telephone no . ( try +44 345 172 0088).
However the connection is utterly appalling. Before full fibre it didn’t seem so bad. The only people I know, across the country, who have problems, all so far have full fibre. A friend and I both were blaming city fibre who fit their fibre.
It is ridiculous to charge for a service which in the early morning, the middle of the day and about 6pm is not available. In fact the only time when it is reliable seems to be about 8pm. In other words, this is not suitable if you want to use it as a business tool.
Try and get your act together and stop city fibre saying there are building works near me when it is the same excuse for people in different towns

Hopeless Communications company

ZERO STARS! ISP companies, it’s just money for old rope! They take your money and provide poor equipment, poor ISP service and zero support!

Following a long running saga of poor internet access (my old provider was bought by Talk Talk) and bad WiFi and finding out there is no 24/7 IT support for this tech, none at all at weekends and ‘Sara’ the ‘Support Agent’ is an automated chat bot doesn’t work who asks you to diagnose the broken links on the chat!!!! I’m leaving Talk Talk asap!

Useless non-existent service!

Bereavement Policy Needs Improvement.

Called today to inform them of the sudden death of my father in law.
Instead of requesting a disconnection of the service I requested to keep the internet on, with the cheapest speed simply to keep the security camera on wifi, working to protect the empty house for a few weeks.
The call handler then explained that I had to move the account into my name and set up the change. At end of this process I was told my new contract was now successfully set up and this would be a new 24 month contract!!!!!
I immediately pointed out I didnt want a 2 year contract.....and didnt ask for one....and I demanded they switch off the service immediately, as would be the case of in the bereavement of a customer.
I was told this couldn't be done now as it was a new account and as a new customer I would have to give 28 days notice and pay for the month.....I demanded to speak to a supervisor.

After being on the call for 86 minutes....where no doubt TalkTalk were reviewing the call handlers conversation with me, I was finally addressed by a supervisor who apologised for the unacceptable service provided and he promised that I would not incur any charges.
!!!!No Compensation offered!!!
Talk Talk really need to work on their bereavement policy. Poor effort....glad I wasn't an elderly grieving widow.

I am registered disabled and at times have a job moving round

I am registered disabled and at times have trouble moving around my bungalow. Often I cannot find my mobile which is essential for me to have and when I can't find it I ring my mobile number from my landline to locate where the phone is, I end the call before it even goes into voicemail. They charge for this even though the call doesn't go into voicemail. Apparently even if you dial the number you are still charged - disgraceful! The way round it is to pay an extra £8.00 per month!! Talktalk have got to be one of the worst broad band provider and when Shell Energy went bust I was forced to go with Talktalk. They have no compassion whatsoever which is why I have given them a 1 star rating.If I had a choice I would not give them any stars

Talk Talk have been stringing us along

No landline for nearly 4 weeks. We spent nearly an hour on the Talk Talk chat line yesterday morning while Silindile kept us waiting while they contacted an engineer - same story given 5 times previously! No outage in our area reported! They will not give us a deadlock letter which by law they must do so we can take this further. Totally fed up with their customer service and fake promises. Be warned!

Long-Time Customer Disappointed – Poor Weekend Support

I have been a TalkTalk customer for over six years, and while there have been occasional issues in the past, I’ve always continued with their service. However, my recent experience has been very disappointing.

According to their support hours, the phone lines are open on Saturdays from 09:00 to 18:00 and the live chat from 08:00 to 19:00. I joined the live chat at 17:00 and waited patiently for two hours, but no agent ever connected. At 19:00, the service simply closed with no assistance provided.

Unfortunately, there is also no support available on Sundays, which means I now have no Internet service for the entire weekend. For a broadband provider, this level of support is unacceptable.

After many years as a loyal customer, I feel it’s time to look for an alternative provider that offers more reliable customer care and support when it’s needed most.

Not renewing when contract ends

I have been a loyal TalkTalk customer for as long as I can remember. Across all devices....phones, laptops tv...my speed of internet at home has deteriorated badly recently. Smart tv keeps really badly buffering at night. Even though I've subscribed to a full fibre service Fibre 65 Data Only package since Nov 2023, the service has been fine until recently.I eventually got around to logging a complaint through my online account last weds 24th Sept. My dash board still tells me the status of my quick line test is open and I should get an update in the next 5 minutes. That was 4 days ago now. I am unable to run a speed test, screen says "oops we have run into a problem"! With my (few and far between) previous faults, I could always get through to a real human on the technical fault telephone helpline, and any previously reported fault were rectified promptly. With my current slow speed problem...despite my best efforts, I am only ever communicating with a painfully slow, poorly programmed chatbot, which tries to convince me "I am human". Perhaps its just a human that is not proficient in English. How would I know? Either way, with the response time being so slow on their part...I am often occupied when their response eventually comes through to me....then they have the audacity to close the chat...BECAUSE I HAVN'T RESPONDED! So I have to start a new chat and repeat myself ad nauseam. What a bonkers waste of time I've experienced. My 2 year contract is up in November. Will I be renewing w TalkTalk? Nope definitely not!! I think they are taking the mick and living off their, previously held, very good reputation. My recommendation is to not touch TalkTalk with a bargepole. You're welcome very much.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, got significantly worse over the last two years. When you renew your contract- they don’t even fight for you anymore. When you have a problem- be ready to spend 2 weeks trying to get in touch. My line was down for few months and I am still waiting for credit, when on chat with them I had to repeat it 20 times, they keep breaking the chat, introducing me to new teams, and losing the history of the issue, 48h later I’m still nowhere. DO NOT USE

Talk talk are incompetent, lie , blame you for their mistakes & take zero accountability for their bad service. Worst thing is in 4 years Ive never spoken with anyone who can speak or comprehend English. Chat is AI & Bots plus agents that cant help. Cant wait to leave them
