After putting an awful review on here i…

After putting an awful review on here i was contacted with a link to use to help resolve my parents long standing issues. Great..... except after about an hour of asking details they said without 3 characters from my telephone enquiry password (it was a Trustpilot link sent by TalkTalk themselves and therefore i didn't have a phone enquiry password as i pointed out) they said they were unable to help and i had to ring enquiries. This doesn't help as for some reason even though i am or rather was the point of contact for my parents for a long time, they now have some other name on my parents account but Talktalk won't tell me as I'm not the point of contact! Sooooo frustrating as we have not changed my name from there account so who knows whose on there now????? Such a frustrating, totally hopeless company

Awful awful company

Awful awful company. Did all the resets asked of us. Told their internet was working when it isn’t. 8 phone calls later and still asking us to do the same resets. Wouldn’t sent an engineer. James Blunts.

Absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely disgraceful – the most stressful and infuriating broadband experience ever

TalkTalk managed to achieve what I thought was impossible – they cut off my broadband without a single warning, email, call, or even a basic courtesy message. I never asked to cancel, I never switched provider, and yet one morning my internet was gone. Completely.

When I called, I was told they had “no record” of another company taking over my line. So how exactly was my service terminated? Nobody knew. Nobody cared. Instead of solving the problem, they had the audacity to demand £160 in early termination fees for a cancellation I didn’t even request. This isn’t customer service – it’s robbery dressed up as policy.

The calls with their so-called support team were beyond frustrating. Scripted replies. Zero empathy. No solutions. Just stonewalling and repeated demands for payment. I was left without internet for days, with no help, no responsibility taken, and no urgency from their side.

This company does not value its customers. They hide behind excuses, they fail to communicate, and they will happily leave you stranded without the service you pay for. In my opinion, their behaviour raises serious questions about compliance with Ofcom consumer protection rules, and I will be escalating this to the Communications Ombudsman.

If you’re considering TalkTalk, don’t walk – run in the opposite direction. They are the definition of chaos and incompetence. I wouldn’t trust them to run a toaster, let alone a broadband network.

Poor All Round

I renewed my contract and was sent a new router, but not the extender unit that I had with the original router. The coverage in the house was poor and I discovered that the extender was not working.

You can’t talk to anyone other than through a typing session on the website. The representative assured me that the original extender should work with the new router and took me through other basic things to try – no result.

My second attempt I got passed from the first specialist who didn’t seem to grasp the nature of my problem to another who confidently took me through a number of steps that I could see had nothing to do with my problem. When she had finished she asked “is there anything that I can help you with?” When I asked about dealing with my original problem she had to refer me another specialist who got the bottom of my problem, but whn I asked him to confirm by email the new contract prices and the date of despatch of the equipment the line went dead.

Shockingly bad

The most terrible experience with Talktalk.
Problem after problem after problem.
No customer service help at all.
Had to leave. They told so many lies and made up bills.
I had proof for everything. Conversations, e mails, messages but nothing changed.

Shocking

Absolutely shocking customer service, contract ended ,tried bill me 3 months plus late payment charges plus a cancellation fee,was on the phone been passed around for over an hour

How do I get an engineer to call

I’ve recently upgraded to full fibre,but my tv is now unwatchable with buffering ,pixelating , freezing,and even changing to a Netflix page to which I don’t even subscribe,can I get an engineer?? Talktalks systems are not fit for purpose I’ve told them I want an engineer and they insist on me answering a large list of question ,THIS Is NOT SERVICE not happy ,thinking of cancelling my subscription.

The most shockingly awful experience

The most shockingly awful experience. Getting connected took weeks and multiple days spent working from home waiting for an engineer that eventually showed up on the 4th time I scheduled. No explanation or apology.
Getting disconnected was even worse, they added multiple additional payments, charged me for the kit which I tried to send back to them but never got the details for where to send it. I am still paying random charges 3 months after disconnection. Avoid like the plague

Should be 0 Zero

Without notice talktalk have changed customers emails with another downgrade.....
This time talktalk, after several contacts with their rude customer service, say they are not putting the Faults right, end of, I guess they want customers to use alternative emails to save them more money?
This following the slowdown of fast fibre speed and their overpriced call packages it's time to leave!

What a disaster of a company.

What a disaster of a company.

Just to leave is such an effort. I spent hours on chat box as its impossible to get through to a real person. You go around and around with questions from a bot that keeps asking the same questions and does not seem to understand. We get through then to more bots. Its a merry go around.

Spent about 2 hours yesterday talking supposedly to a real person asking all kinds of questions again and again. They should have called me this morning as they said at 09.00 am but did not. 2 hours have passed so guess what? It is bad with battling recording messages to get me through to the right department. But it does not work. I keep putting in a number to get to the right person and it seems to ignore. Then I speak and it does not understand. Going around in circles I am told to go on line as it is easer. Did that and guided to a chat box and here we go again.

Avoid this company.

TALK TALK — You’ve Just Messed with the Wrong Customer

To the TalkTalk management team:
Take this seriously. Because I’m not just another frustrated customer — I am a legal professional, and you’ve just crossed the wrong line with the wrong person.

This company is a disgrace.
What you advertise as “service” is in fact a continuous cycle of lies, system failures, and financial exploitation. The Wi-Fi is consistently dysfunctional, your online billing system doesn’t work, yet you expect timely payments and threaten disconnections based on your own system errors.

Customer service? Non-existent.
Your agents are either untrained, rude, or simply vanish mid-call. Nobody takes responsibility. Every interaction is a maze of contradictions, delays and excuses.

But the worst part?
The sheer arrogance and negligence your company displays towards people who pay you in good faith. You’ve wasted my time, my energy and my money — and now you’ve activated my professional side.

I am currently considering legal action for:
• Breach of contract
• Emotional distress
• Reimbursement of overcharges
• Damages related to your failure to provide the paid service

This isn’t just a bad review. It’s a formal warning.
You owe me an immediate response, a full investigation, and financial compensation. If not, expect to be hearing from a legal body, not just Trustpilot.

To potential customers reading this: STAY AWAY.
TalkTalk doesn’t care about your needs. They will take your money, give you nothing, and gaslight you when you complain.

Shame on you, TalkTalk. You should not be allowed to operate.

Customer service is shockingly bad.

It’s hard to figure out what’s going on with this company.
I was ‘migrated’ without ceremony from Shell - last June 2024.
Talk Talk charge me & email me my bills (I’ve a Direct Debit) but it’s absolutely impossible to register my account with them - that is setting up my username & password. I’ve had several friends try this online & all of us keep getting the same ‘technical issue’ notice - which makes it impossible.
I was w/o network connection with them for 8 days recently & although this has now been resolved it’s due to my determination, persistence & patience with rude call centre operators. I have to say it took hours of my precious time too.
And now I’m having problems again as the first bill I’ve been sent is way too high, I can’t register my account so I don’t have access to a breakdown, so I’m going to have to phone them up again!
And I’m pursuing compensation for a week without the network service they didn’t supply & for reimbursement of delivery charge for a duff replacement new router that one of the call centre operators decided I had to pay (£9.95), he also told me that when I leave Talk Talk I will have to pay for the router- the cheek!
I think they make it up as they go along though as a couple of days later I was sent another new replacement router and there was no charge at all!
God help us!
I’d like to think Talk Talk actually care about their appalling customer service reputation & have people to answer these reviews but I know that they do not give a damn.
Shame on them all for their appalling service & for allowing a culture of such rudeness & arrogance from the operatives.
If you can’t do exactly as they dictate or if they stumble across something challenging they get very impatient & I was even cut off, it even seemed to me that at times they were deliberately provoking me to get angry so either they could end the call or I would end it!!
Each 2 hour call felt like a round with Mike Tyson & was utterly exhausting.

TalkTalk: From disaster to relief — thanks to Luca

Talk Talk, avoid for your sanity!

Talk Talk TV stopped working. I checked on my online account and it said I needed to upgrade. It also said that there would now be fewer services. I decided to cancel it. I can't be done online, only by phone. This process is ridiculously onerous and longwinded involving a lengthy phone call, waiting for an email, then holding forever. Just avoid this company for your sanity!

Incompetent! Dodgy! And highly unreliable!

Incompetent! They allow some 3rd party to cancel my service! Some a*hole frm xln got in touch with talktalk and cancel my service! How in the hell can someone other than the account holder able to cancel services on behalf of the account holder?!? That is the highest level of breach of trust! Vastly inefficient and highly unreliable! I was with them for 5years and i am without connection now!

No Return Label to allow for recycled Equipment

I spent a great deal of time parcelling up my old wifi equipment - to return to TalkTalk for recycling.
I followed their instructions and placed in the bag that they provided. However, they DID NOT provide a 'Return Label', even though they said that they did.
Their ChatBot was unable to take my request for a replacement label, and their "expert" told me that the label was integral with the bag.
Took to the post office and they understandably told me that there would be no free postage if no label!
TalkTalk completely failed to deal with my simple query - hopeless

Awful Treatment From TalkTalk

Received an email from TalkTalk on 17th JULY, advising me that my account was being moved to Utility Warehouse from 25th JUNE, 3 weeks after the event had taken place !!. I called the customer complaints team, who told me I have no choice but to be transferred to this company. If I had wanted my broadband with Utility Warehouse, I would have took it out with them myself. I have been with TalkTalk for many years and can't believe they have just done this. They also said it was because I was an "Origin" customer, I have never heard of this organisation and have always been with TalkTalk. After 1 hour and 10 mins on the phone, via various agents, a manager agreed that I can end my contract slightly earlier. Disgusting treatment from a company that I have had my broadband and phone with for many years. Am now going to take my business elsewhere as it is quite clear TalkTalk no longer want me as a customer.

Waste of money

Customer service can't take power of attorney information. They obviously don't understand the process at all. Useless service. My mother's phone is constantly not working. The broadband is getting worse if that were possible! She's paying £66 a month for this. Of course I'm changing her supplier - just writing this review to warn people. Do not use Talktalk. Waste of money.
