Swuupi is a purchase intelligence and price-tracking service designed to help consumers make better-informed buying decisions and avoid paying more than necessary for products they want to purchase online. Instead of requiring shoppers to repeatedly visit different webshops, compare prices manually, or guess whether a current discount is actually a good deal, Swuupi monitors product prices and analyzes historical price information to help identify when it may be a better time to buy. The basic idea is simple: **Swuupi watches prices so you don't have to.** ### How Swuupi works Swuupi allows users to track products from online retailers. A shopper can paste the URL of a product page into Swuupi, or find a product that is already included in its catalogue. Swuupi reads information from the product page, including the product title, current price, images, category and, where available, the product's GTIN or barcode. This information can then be used to identify the same product across different stores. Once a product has been added to a watchlist, Swuupi monitors its price over time. The service checks prices regularly and can notify users when a price drops. According to Swuupi's current information, free users receive basic price alerts, while Premium users receive additional features such as unlimited tracked products, more detailed price histories, faster alerts and automatic cross-store matching. The goal is to make price tracking as convenient as possible. Rather than constantly refreshing product pages or maintaining spreadsheets of prices, users can let Swuupi monitor the market and notify them when the price changes. ### Price history and "Fair Value" One of Swuupi's central features is its analysis of historical prices. Swuupi does not simply show a retailer's advertised discount and assume that it represents a good deal. The service collects price observations over time and uses historical market data to provide additional context around the current price. Its "Fair Value" concept is intended to give shoppers a reference point for understanding what a product has typically been selling for. Swuupi states that its system attempts to remove implausible or misleading price observations before they affect its analysis. It also uses product matching, including GTIN/barcode matching, to connect the same product across different retailers. This means that a product's price history can provide a broader picture than a single retailer's current "sale" price. For example, a product might be advertised by a retailer as being heavily discounted compared with a recommended retail price. Looking at the actual price history can provide a different perspective and help a shopper determine whether the current price is genuinely unusual or whether similar prices have been available regularly. Swuupi therefore focuses not only on finding a low price, but also on helping users understand whether the current price appears attractive in relation to historical market data. ### "Buy" and "Wait" recommendations Swuupi also provides timing information intended to help shoppers decide whether to purchase immediately or wait. Its system analyzes the chronological price history of products and compares current prices with historical observations. Depending on the data available, Swuupi may indicate that a product is in "Buy" territory or that it may be worth waiting for another price drop. The purpose is not to guarantee that a price will fall, but to give consumers additional information when deciding when to buy. Swuupi explains that its price charts follow real dates and that historical observations are not rearranged simply to make a price drop appear larger. Where projections are shown, they are presented as algorithmic estimates rather than recorded historical prices. This distinction is important because retail prices can change frequently, and no price-tracking service can guarantee that a product will reach a particular future price. ### Price alerts Price alerts are one of Swuupi's core features. Users can add products to their watchlist and receive an email when Swuupi detects a relevant price drop. The alert can contain information such as the current price, the amount saved and a link to the relevant retailer listing. The service is designed to eliminate the need for shoppers to repeatedly check the same product themselves. According to Swuupi's FAQ, the free tier checks prices once daily, while Premium products receive more frequent monitoring and faster notifications when price changes are detected. Because online retailers can change prices or sell out of products at any time, Swuupi also makes clear that the price shown in an alert may not always be identical to the price available when the consumer reaches the retailer's website. The final price at checkout on the retailer's website is the applicable price. ### Comparing products across retailers Another important part of Swuupi is its cross-store product matching. The service is designed to identify the same product across multiple retailers, using information such as GTINs or barcodes where available. This allows Swuupi to compare prices for the same item rather than simply comparing products that happen to belong to the same category. Where matching information is available, Swuupi can therefore help shoppers see how the price of a particular product varies between stores. The service is intended to work across a broad range of online retailers rather than being restricted to a single shopping catalogue. Swuupi describes its system as domain-agnostic and says that users can paste product links from almost any major e-commerce retailer. However, individual websites may sometimes be difficult for automated systems to access, particularly where strong anti-bot or other technical protections are in place. ### Swuupi Personal Shopper Swuupi also offers a Personal Shopper feature for situations where a consumer does not already have a specific product URL. Instead of starting with a particular product page, users can describe what they are looking for in ordinary language. The Personal Shopper then searches the market for a matching product at the user's desired price and can add a suitable result to the user's watchlist. This is particularly useful when someone knows what they want to buy but has not yet found the exact product or retailer. The Personal Shopper is currently described by Swuupi as a Premium feature. ### Swuupi Assistant Swuupi has also developed an integrated assistant that allows users to interact with the service using natural language. The assistant can help with questions about Swuupi itself, product discovery and other shopping-related requests. Swuupi explains that its assistant uses live information for areas such as pricing and plan details, while product searches are performed against its live catalogue. An important aspect of the service is that Swuupi says its assistant is designed to avoid simply inventing answers. If it cannot answer a question reliably, it is intended to say so, and Swuupi states that users can be connected with a human rather than receiving a guessed answer when the assistant is unable to resolve an issue. ### Browser extension Swuupi also provides a browser extension intended to make adding products to a watchlist easier. The extension allows shoppers to track a product directly while browsing an online store. Instead of copying and pasting a product URL manually, a user can use the extension to add the product to Swuupi with a single click. The extension can read the product title and price from the webpage and add the item to the user's watchlist. Swuupi currently states that the extension works with Chrome and Firefox, while its website also provides information about using the Chrome build with browsers such as Edge, Brave and Opera. Safari support for iPhone and iPad is described as being on the roadmap. ### Free and Premium options Swuupi offers both free and Premium functionality. The free tier allows users to browse deals and set basic price alerts. Premium is designed for consumers who want more extensive price-tracking functionality and currently includes features such as unlimited tracked products, complete price-history charts, faster alerts and automatic cross-store matching. Swuupi states that Premium subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. There are no cancellation fees, and after cancellation the Premium features remain available until the end of the current billing period. This gives customers flexibility to use Premium when they need more extensive tracking without being locked into a long-term commitment. ### Affiliate links and transparency Swuupi states openly that it may use affiliate links for some retailers. This means that when a user clicks a retailer link through Swuupi and subsequently makes a purchase, Swuupi may receive a small commission from the retailer or affiliate partner. According to Swuupi, this does not result in an additional cost to the customer. Swuupi also states that affiliate commissions do not influence the calculation of its Fair Value or Timing Scores. In other words, the service says that the commercial relationship with a retailer does not determine whether its system considers a price to be attractive. This is an important point for users evaluating the service because Swuupi's purpose is to provide price information and buying guidance rather than operate as a traditional online shop. ### Swuupi is not the retailer Swuupi is primarily an information, price-monitoring and shopping-intelligence service. It does not replace the retailer where a consumer ultimately purchases a product. When a user receives a price alert and follows a retailer link, the actual purchase takes place on the retailer's website. The retailer is responsible for the final product price, availability, delivery, payment, returns and other terms associated with the transaction. Swuupi specifically notes that retailers can change prices or sell out between the time a price is detected and the time a shopper visits the retailer's website. Consequently, users should always verify the final price and availability directly with the retailer before completing a purchase. ### Data accuracy Swuupi explains that its price information is collected from external sources and that prices are updated regularly. The company also acknowledges that it cannot guarantee complete accuracy because the underlying information comes from third-party sources. This is particularly relevant in online retail, where prices, inventory and promotions can change rapidly. Swuupi's system is therefore intended as a decision-support tool rather than a guarantee that a particular price will remain available. The retailer's own website and checkout are ultimately the authoritative source for the price and availability of a product. ### Privacy and account control Swuupi states that users have control over their account and personal information. According to its FAQ, users can permanently delete their account from their profile settings. Swuupi says that this removes the user's email address, watchlists and personal data from its active databases in accordance with GDPR. Users can therefore manage their subscription and account directly rather than having to rely on a lengthy cancellation process. ### Who can benefit from Swuupi? Swuupi can be useful for anyone who regularly shops online and wants to make more informed decisions about when and where to buy. It may be particularly useful for people who: * are considering an expensive purchase and want to monitor the price before buying; * do not want to manually check prices every day; * want to see historical price movements; * want additional context around retailer discounts; * want to compare the same product across different stores; * prefer to receive price-drop notifications by email; * want help finding a product that meets a particular description and price; * regularly shop for electronics, appliances, beauty products, clothing, sports equipment, household products or other consumer goods. ### Overall concept The central idea behind Swuupi is to make online shopping more data-driven. Rather than asking consumers to rely solely on a retailer's advertised discount, Swuupi combines price monitoring, historical price information, cross-store product matching and automated alerts to provide additional context before a purchase is made. The service does not promise that every price will fall or that every alert will result in a particular saving. Instead, it aims to reduce the uncertainty involved in deciding whether a current price is worth paying. For shoppers, the main benefit is convenience: add a product, let Swuupi monitor the market, and receive an alert when the price reaches a more attractive level. Swuupi describes its mission simply: **to watch prices so consumers don't have to.** As with any automated price-comparison or price-monitoring service, consumers should still check the retailer's website before purchasing, particularly because prices, stock levels, delivery costs and promotions can change quickly. Overall, Swuupi positions itself as a purchase-intelligence tool for online shoppers who want more information before spending their money, with price alerts at its core and additional tools such as price history, cross-store comparison, a Personal Shopper, browser extension and AI-powered shopping assistance built around that central purpose.
