Surprisingly, I have had series of failed viewings appointment from so many agents then I decided to try StudentTenant. I saw the property on a Saturday on their website, and requested for a viewing on Monday, ( Quite frankly, i didn't think the viewing was going to be arranged that quick considering the short timing) their response was swift and timely. I went for my viewing appointment on Monday as arranged, and moved in without wasting anytime at all. I highly recommend StudentTenant they are simply amazing.

Throughout the entire process, he was always available to answer any questions or concerns that I had and made sure that I understood everything that was happening. I was well informed about the various options that were available to me and helped me to choose the option that was best suited to my needs.

Great service, the response was quick and helpful and the person I spoke to (David) was friendly and gave clear instructions.

Student tenant was a great help for me to find a perfect place.

Over the last couple of years we have used Studenttenant.com to let our Student properties in Liverpool and London with great success. Jade and Trish have been great in organising the viewings so we can attend and meet the tenants at times that suit us during our busy schedules. They then look after the sign up process and take deposits. We have recommended the service to a couple of our colleagues who have signed their properties up for this coming academic year.

I was very happy with the experience I had with studenttenant. They were quick to respond and I was receiving calls throughout the process when any changes or complications occured and got the help needed.

I called and spoke to Ryan who seemed really knowledgeable, he booked us in to view some houses. Great customer service!

Me and my friends were looking for a four bedroom house in Bristol to move into in January, but most were already booked. We found a property on StudentTenant, and Jade managed to get us booked in for a viewing quite quickly.

Really happy with the service, and can’t wait to move in next month!

My housemate booked in a couple of viewings with StudentTenant directly, and the process was really straight forward.

When it came to booking a room, he added me to this account and we each paid £50 to reserve the room (which we have been told is deducted from our first months rent).

Really easy and straightforward service, would recommend.

Before the legislation changes their service was free to landlords and as such was therefore worth a punt as an additional source of recruiting tenants.

When they did find potential tenants however my experience was that 80% never turned up for viewings as they seemed to have a very poor appointment system that sent out "reminder" texts several hours after the appointments!

When a tenant chose to proceed it was usually a very slow and tortuous process over weeks where I had to chase them for the checks. Of course they would say it was because they hadn't received paperwork from the tenant or guarantor yet the tenants often showed me proof of them returning forms weeks before.

That meant that even when it was free for me I was reluctant to use them as they charged excessive amounts to the students and it wasn't a good experience for them or me. When students come direct to me it's easier for them and more often than not we're at the contract signing stage within 2 or 3 days with very little hassle.

Now they charge £30 to advertise and £149 for the "application checking". Why would anyone pay that much? I can get the same portal advertising for slightly less on OpenRent and when I find a tenant I can then use my own application system, saving me £149 a tenant and all the hassle of delays and chasing StudentTenant.com. Even if I didn't have my own application system, OpenRent have one that's does the same and they only charge a third of ST's price.

So in conclusion, ST were OK (and no better than OK) when free but certainly not worth paying for when I can get the same advertising elsewhere and I don't get forced to use an expensive and slow application system.

Great for finding a property, but dont expect to get your security seposit back if you ask, it's now close to a month overdue and i still have not received the deposit back. Even after contacting and being told it will be done on the day that i called.

On numerous occasions ive been left in the dark and when Icall to check, absolutely nothing has been done. My e-mails were ignored so do not expect a response if you enquire by e-mail.
The saying, "forward one space, back two" perfectly describes StudentTenant.

However, saying this, i cannot fault the interaction i had with Danielle.

Student Tenant were useful to find tenants at one time. Their advantage was a zero cost for landlords (fees taken from tenants) and a good system to electronically complete all paperwork. Since new legislation they can no longer offer landlords a zero fee experience. They get two stars rather than one for their paperwork system.

As managers of my property they were genuinely awful. They were basically a poor email forwarding service, with no coordination between departments meaning I was asked the same questions over and over again by different people. Despite promising a key exchange service etc, no local services were delivered. Despite agreeing to not be contacted with faults under £200, I was contacted about everything. At one point the shower hose broke, something I would expect to be fixed ASAP. They sent several emails to me and eventually billed me and assured me work had been carried out. On inspecting the property three months later (they also do not conduct inspections), the water pipe was still broken, and the tenants explained a contractor came and changed the shower head, which was not broken. Obviously the management "team" did not follow up.

Unless you're desperate for tenants and want to advertise with several agencies, give these people a wide birth. They strike me as a group of people with good IT skills and absolutely no skills regarding property management. They will cost you more time and a lot more money than simply managing yourself.
