Great service, great outcome, do what they say and when they say it, communication was good. Paul was great from start to finish, I thought they were fairly priced, was definitely worth it from my perspective.

Its not a simple or quick process, you get asked to provide a lot of detail about buildings/sizes/leases etc but if it was simple we would all do it ourselves. I recommend Sterling, they wade through the paperwork for you and we have achieved a lower rates bill by using them.

My company had tried to engage with the local Council and VOA over many months regarding business rates to no avail and hours wasted and only when I instructed Sterling did the matter progress and I received a rebate for business rates on a property under going conversion. I will definitely use them again in the future. Definitely I would recommend this business.

Cold email promised a meaningful saving on the rates bill for our office. I provided a considerable amount of information and their initial assessment was that the company could save almost £13k per annum across our various rates accounts and a "considerable sum" in respect to the backdated element. After paying an initial fee and providing more information, matters slowed down and they were very poor at providing updates on the progress of the challenge to the VOA. Ultimately, I followed up in March and was informed they could not dispute the rateable value and "no challenges were possible" by a M. Hickman. I was very surprised that no one at Sterling had proactively reached out to inform me and have had no response to understanding what has changed in the intervening period when they performed their initial assessment. I have been left feeling scammed by the experience and wanted to provide this cautionary tale when using such firms...

Sterling Associates Ltd contacted us in September 2022 initially someone called Paul Harrison Client services who was relentless, then Carly Peet again relentless. I said no and then was contacted again by Paul and decided to go ahead more fool me. Then in June 2023 I was contacted by a Marjory Hickman with a barrage of questions we had already answered who told us that valuation office were looking into this claim. I again wrote on the 14/03/2024 and have received no answer. I am very disgruntled this company received an upfront payment from us I would urge anyone contacted by this company to tread carefully. Instead of saving us money they seemed to have cost us more with their fee.

Overall we had a great outcome using Sterling Associates with a major reduction on both backdated and current rates.

Why not 5 stars?

A bit more work than we thought from our side with numerous request for details from alot of different staff at the Agency. It would have been easier if we only had one contact at the agency and if the surveyor came out and took updated photos and asked the relevant questions. For a small new company this was challenging for us.

One thing to be aware of is that you need to have some capital by doing this for current and upcoming rates since you have to pay the fee for the agents ahead of the actual savings for the upcoming months for the company. and the council will have quite a long lead time to pay back the refunded fees.

But again very happy with the outcome!

I will review on them just wanted to say sent numerous email but they have not responded yet on challenging my rates I have provided many many shops rates and mine too that voa as increased my rates 1000 percent

I was unaware that i could challenge my Business Rates until i spoke to the team at Sterling. I was paying 30% over similar businesses in my reference scheme.

Safe to say that has now been rectified and I am extremely happy with the reduction and rebate!
